Buckley Jr., providing a platform that is diligent in its commitment to a balanced exchange of opinion. In weekly 30-minute episodes, host Margaret Hoover engages in a rigorous exchange of ideas with political leaders, cultural luminaries, thought leaders and activists who represent a wide range of ideas and perspectives. Ms. Hoover poses tough questions in a very fair-minded and objective way. That's so refreshing in this day of irresponsible, hyper-partisan "journalism".
Compared to CNN and other outlets maybe fairer, but not by much,
Sadly, Yahya Sinwar, leader of Hammas sees all the dead women and children as martyrs for his cause. If he really cared about the Palestinians, he would be doing all he could to protect them!
One can only imagine what would happen if the Palestinians dared disapprove of him.
Would like to see the media address that question.
Great interview and accurate assessment by Senor. Hamas is solely to blame for civilian deaths.
I'm perplexed, too. I've been writing Canadian politicians expressing my outrage about the framing of this conflict.
Israel will win
About the plan for the day after, the problem is publicising the plan (as Senor said, at the risk of death c 12:00). Last time Israel did this, the alternative leadership was killed off (in March, Hamas executed the leader of the Doghmush clan based in Gaza because they'd been said to be amongst those willing to take over control of the Strip).
With all the surveillance capabilities Israel has, why wasn't this on their radar?
It seems like a massive failure on the part of Netanyahu.
Again this interviewer shows an extreme bias and continues to hold Israel to a higher standard than any other country!
Almost all interviewer and "journalist" does. At this point it may be reflexive. I think Ms Hoover at least acknowledges that to some extent

If Israel is committing the same offenses why should I support them? Just because Hamas started it doesn’t make it just if Israel’s doing the same things 🤷🏼♀️ They both got deep rooted issues that’s not going to be solved by war.

@@susie4045 The UN is an Islamist propaganda machine. Don't you know that, Susie? Have you ever heard of vetting information from tainted sources? And did you not hear that the claim of sexual abuse against Israel had to do with strip searches where no sexual contact occurred or was intended? Do you know why there is such a thing as strip searches? Do you know anything of value? Comparing Israel to Hamas is like comparing a jaywalker to a murdering rapist. It's arrogant of you to so readily condemn the innocent. You're bearing false witness, which is a cardinal sin.
@@susie4045 The sexual crimes cited here are the cases of Hamas soldiers captured by Israeli soldiers and ordered to take their clothes off, but for their underwear, so to make sure they're not wearing suicide vests. Seems like Mr. Senor was not aware of that.

Your lying here is what really stinks.
Why didn’t you ask Dan Senor to explain and justify what he meant when he said that “Israel is being held to a standard unlike any other country in the world”? That is a very bold statement that demands a grounding in the facts. It’s also a well-worn Republican talking point that is dragged out of the closet every time Israel’s actions are put under the international spotlight.
Above all, for US citizens concerned about our role in the Middle East, and in the absence of solid supporting evidence that demonstrates a serious disparity between the treatment of Israel’s actions compared to accepted international norms, it’s an example of moral relativism at its worst. It’s not at all surprising that Senor played a key role in justifying the bad-faith actions of the George W. Bush administration in Iraq.
Firing Line may have a politically conservative orientation, but that doesn’t give it license to permit its guests to make unsubstantiated allegations that serve only to lower the bar on civilized behavior by allied countries. You forfeit your journalistic integrity by serving as a clearinghouse for such repugnant propaganda. 👎🏻
PS: I’m willing to believe that this was a one-time glitch due to the fact that you have a preexisting personal relationship with the interview subject. If that’s what went on here, then you need to remember this fiasco and prepare differently for a friend versus an acquaintance. Certainly, you did a stellar job with George Conway, to cite a recent example. But if you turn in many more sycophantic performances like this one, be prepared to stand helplessly by as you watch yourself flushing your own reputation down the drain.

Marginalized people often respond in an emotional manner. Two wrongs don't make a right. All the lives lost over " The holy land" or "God's chosen people" is heartbreaking.
