I'm not much of a student of science, and even I can tell you that making a love potion would be nearly impossible because you'd need to make a liquid serum that could mess with the chemistry of the brain without killing your intended recipient. And it would have to work by having you be the first person they see after they take it. So, start ordering lab rats if you want to try, because it is going to take a long time.
You literally would have to mess with the chemistry of the brain in order to make a successful love potion. Moreover, unless an antidote to said love potion were made, then the effects of it would be permanent. However, it would not stop there because then that formula could be tweaked to be injected directly into the parts of the brain that govern such things, and then there would be the formula being altered in a variety of ways, in conjunction with the original formula, as well as the ethics of doing such things over a wide variety of people, which range from autistic, ADD, and ADHD people, to people that have Tourette's Syndrome, bipolar, manic depressive, schizophrenic, psychopathic, sociopathic, dissociative, anxious, depressive, and OCD issues, to the various LGBTQ+ personalities as well...the ethical, as well as legal, and societal, aftermath would cause even more chaos than all of those other things currently do in society.
