Fair comment paul, I was at this game in the ellerslie road stand supporting QPR, 27000, 18000 were Chelsea and on all four sides of the ground, good old days of packed grounds, scarfs round the wrists and all! days of proper football and proper fans.

Was loads of Chelsea side stands seats and enclosure where i was loads and in the Loft Terrace on the wings and a packed away end. Yet away end well over half empty the replay at Chelsea. Chelsea's season started to collapse in this game. McLaughlin got injured and although Speedie was in an offside position when Dixon scored, he was clearly not interfering with play and the goal should have stood. A few days later Dixon was injured against Liverpool in the FA Cup defeat and then 3 days later they were beaten by QPR in the League Cup replay. To add to all that Niedzwiecki was injured against QPR in a league game two months later and never fully recovered. After being well placed in the League all season and second at the New Year they fell away and finished 6th. The fallout from all this lasted for 3 years until they were promoted again in 1989 after relegation in 88.

I'm in the front row at 29:15 (in front of a guy in white) cheering which I believe to this day was a legit goal. My best mate,a QPR fan, is to the right as we look and pointed out the lines men's flag! Loads of us Chelsea in the Loft that night (as ever) and a 27000 crowd. I'm not mentioning the replay!!

Good to see Doug Rougvie playing for Chelsea. Don’t know why but loads of Alex Ferguson’s Aberdeen side that beat Real Madrid to win the ECWC never went elsewhere and were really successful. I suppose Gordon Strachan was.

Where was 15.000 Qpr. The gate was 15.000 v Liverpool Semi Final so alot less than 15.000 Qpr v Liverpool and Chelsea. Was 15.000 Chelsea 12.000 Qpr this game. Was Chelsea on all 4 sides. Lusten to the Comm he says more Chelsea than Rangers he was right. How comes only 15.000 v Liverpool the Semi Final.

If only those QPR fans who say 'where were you when you were shit' or 'west London is ours' without any sense of irony watched this so they realise chelsea have and always will be the main club in West London. Qpr and Fulham have never been on our radar just another club where we'd outnumber the home fans before all seaters, same as palace, Charlton, Watford, Luton etc.

Chelsea weren't the main club when Rangeres finished second to the future European Championsi in 1976 .You will Rangers finished above Chelsea quitet regulary in th early 1970s.Obviously things have changed when Chelsea won the lottery wern Russians took over. Not as cleasr cut as you'd think on today's standard, assuming thsts's where the sweeping starement came from You Rs

I'm not saying qpr have never had a better side than chelsea, they've had some good and exciting sides over the years but chelsea are the only major club in W/SW London, hence why there's no real rivalry with QPR, Fulham or Brentford
