- With Propeller being the first ever full-length skateboarding film from Vans, there was no question that it needed to pay homage its roots.
Opening with an 80’s style backyard ramp session quickly became the plan, but what most don’t know is that Jeff Grosso single-handedly made it happen.
From finding the location to assembling the skaters, Jeff became the heart and soul behind the shoot.
Here for the first time is a full cut of what went down during those three epic days.
This is a tribute to Jeff and everything he brought to our world through his boundless love for skateboarding.

I’m the same age as Jeff. Love letters got my old ass back to skating. I never met Jeff but I can’t shake off his death. I keep coming back to these videos thinking someone was playing a bad joke and he really isn’t gone. Can’t imagine what his son and his family as well as his friends must be feeling. I can’t shake it man.

When I see that GROSSO FOREVER photo of Jeff it just makes me appreciate everyday that I can still skate and share my love for skating with my young son. Grosso was a big part of me slowly returning to skateboarding after about 25 years of absence. Loveletters brought back so many memories that I just had to dare it once more. Being older and still reckless, of course I hurt myself. And stopped again. Think I'm going to head back out and brave the plywood and concrete. Thanks Jeff.
