    These units would be perfect for a dorm room! Just don't drive your dorm mates next door crazy! This stereo has enough bass to be heard next door or even down the hall fyi.

    The high end boomboxes from the 70s and early 80s go for big money especially if they have insane graphics and eq and big speakers. The PANASONIC NATIONAL RX A5 is an example. On ebay now. Bid is over $400!

    JVC is my favorite. I have their hx-z30 and their mx-gt90 and it actually makes stuff fall off the walls if I turn it up too loud lmao. not even joking. So I actually barley use my jvc's at max volume, but damn. nothing I seen can beat them.

    Can you lower/adjust the bass? It has a Aux input in the back too right?

    • @godisgoodatht

      Hi! The rear has rca stereo aux inputs and the front has a usb music device input which doubles as a 5v charge port. And Bluetooth as well as lg sound sync which I was not able to play with. The bass can be reduced or increased by changing the surround mode by pressing sound effect. Also by together pressing REGION EQ and B. BLAST it will turn on or off the bass blast.

      About the best thing I could think of is keep playing with the sound effect settings until you reduce the bass also if you're running an external Source from the RCA inputs or Bluetooth especially if it's an iPhone or iPod go to your music settings in the settings menu and select bass reducer

    Hi there, I'm looking to buy this system, but what concerns me is that I'd be using it as a PC output via the RCA connectors on the back. Could you tell me if there is any hiss or other unwanted noise when there is no sound playing and there is something connected? Thanks!

    • @godisgoodatht
      @godisgoodatht  6 років тому +1

      Hi! No you should have no problems with noise if you connect via a 3.5mm stereo to rca plugs. I even hook up a vintage Realistic SCR-4500 and get no hiss to my HP envy m6 1205dx. One suggestion and what I do when its hooked up is turn up the pc volume at least 3/4 vol and keep the stereo vol down as low as possible to avoid amp hum. If your pc has bluetooth connectivity with audio support with pairing you can use that too and avoid even using an audio cable!

    • @godisgoodatht
      @godisgoodatht  4 роки тому +1

      I wouldn't think it would be dirty being that it's probably fairly new but you may want to go ahead and try a CD player cleaner kit. As far as the control if you're talking about the remote first thing to try is switching out the batteries with new ones. If you're talking about the front panel volume dial unfortunately it may have went bad.

      @@ofthedawn I've had this happen w a tv remote before. I took the remote apart and cleaned the back side of the buttons and the motherboard with an alcohol wipe. There may be a screw holding the remote together underneath the battery compartment. Or carefully pry the remote apart using a precision screw driver or guitar pick. Sometimes the cleaning process works and sometimes it don't.

      @godisgoodatht  6 років тому

      Stephanie Fernandez Might be a couple of things. First obvious thing would be to check that the outlet plugged into has power. 2nd, the unit may have a fuse on the inside that can be replaced. Or umfortunalely the circuits that handle power may have burned up.

    Can I hook this up to my panasonic viera tv?

    • @godisgoodatht
      @godisgoodatht  6 років тому

      Corey Golden Hi! Yeah you can hook it up via the stereo rca aux input and if your tv only has a headphone out you can get a cable off eBay that has male rca plugs on one end and a male 3.5mm plug on the other to wire into the back of the tv. If your TV has stereo RCA audio out ports then simply just get a standard stereo RCA end to end cable. Some of the newest LED TVs may offer the audio out via Bluetooth and you could use that if that feature is available for your television

    Just got this radio and any time I change song from my phone it resets the volume to 25 🤔 anyway around this that you know of ?

    • @godisgoodatht
      @godisgoodatht  6 років тому

      Beckham Feehan My first thought would be maybe your smartphone has a volume limiter set like my ipod touch 6th gen has and it is defaulting the volume back to the level set on the phone and it overrides the volume you set the stereo to. Just an educated guess.

    • @beckzfeehan7

    • @godisgoodatht
      @godisgoodatht  6 років тому

      Beckham Feehan actually thought about it again and saw what my iPod did when I switch to Bluetooth the stereo communicates with the device being connected through Bluetooth and it talks to the volume setting of your phone or what device is connected to and it sets the volume accordingly or maybe it's based on what the volume setting was the last time you had that certain device connected

    Could I hook a record player up to this with the white and red leads

    • @godisgoodatht
      @godisgoodatht  5 років тому

      You probably could but just remember with the old vintage record player units that they have a different voltage input that vintage stereo receivers were designed to receive I would say hook it up and see how it sounds should be okay it's not going to harm anything. probably the only thing would be is the volume might be higher or lower than usual like if you're just running an iPod or something. You might have to get a special phono input leveler for record players

    Has anyone had this problem and knows how to solve it??

    • @godisgoodatht
      @godisgoodatht  4 роки тому

      That's weird. Only thing I can figure is the stereo is remembering the last input you had and it happens to be set to your Bluetooth device. Probably your smartphone and or iPod and it's automatically reverting to the volume level that was set for that device. Read down in the comments and it explains that in more detail. Maybe change it to the tuner, turn the volume down, power it down, power it back up, and see if it stays at that volume. Also the stereo does have an alarm setting that makes the unit turn on by itself at a specific set time.

      I always have to unplug the stereo for fear it will happen again. It's happened 3 times already and it happened just today while I was watching TV. It turned on by itself and it said "Galaxy" on it playing some hip hop music and the volume went up by itself!!. I quickly got up and pulled the plug. I tried turning the volume but it goes up. I have an Aiwa CX-NA767 which I bought brand new in 1999 with my high school graduation money still would have been perfectly working if my two nieces hadn't yanked the tape deck open while it was playing and broke it LOL. The oldest broke tape A and the youngest broke tape B😢. Oh well they didn't know any better. But anyway heck if you can pick up a really good condition Aiwa vintage shelf system those are really nice I miss Aiwa actually they just don't make them much anymore.
