    Normally, we just kind of struggle our way through most opening bands at concerts. This was a very pleasant surprise! When they make their way back to Chicago, I will definitely go see them again. Bravo! 🎸🎶

    I had never heard them before but heard them in Minneapolis opening for the Warning- thought they brought it loud and hard and sounded really good, I bought their CD and downloaded their stuff off Apple. Looks like this what they are opening their gigs with and was the one I liked the best although they played a new one that hasn’t been released. The drummer and guitarist are from Minneapolis so it was a homecoming for them.

    I believe they have been with The Warning on this tour from the beginning. I also was pleasantly surprised with their performance in Salt Lake City. I think it is awesome that The Warning are giving them the opportunity to get some nation wide exposure on this tour.

    They were a really fun listen live in Seattle/Pdx. The piped in bass had me scratching my head a first. There's video from a year ago of this song with a bass player.

      I’ve seen both of them, and I saw Romes open in Toronto. I’m not 100% sure, but I may be the only person to see all three opening acts on the tour. I’d love to hear from anyone else who did. I liked all three bands for very different reasons. They were a diverse group.

    I think Debora is a person's name. The lead singer could be a solo act. I saw another live performance. They had 4 people in the band. Not 3 don't know the story

    Who's singing backup vocals...

    • @ryankieth1675
      @ryankieth1675  Рік тому

      Probably her in the studio and they put it on a backing track. They had bass on a backing track as well, along with the intro and numerous other things that can’t be noticed on a phone recording.

      @@ryankieth1675 Oh I figured all of that. That’s why there wasn’t a question mark! I’m just not a fan of such a small group using backing tracks in a live setting. It’s deceiving to the average listener and puts other musicians out of work.

    • @ryankieth1675
      @ryankieth1675  Рік тому

      @@shawnmartin8410 it’s common practice. I’m not saying every band does it, but you’d be hard pressed to find one who doesn’t. Nearly every modern band has a laptop on stage, and if they don’t their engineer is running it. Good bands recorded most or all of the backups themselves. As long as they played it in studio there’s nothing wrong with using it as a track on stage. Their songs, their work, their choice. And quite frankly, if a studio musician signs a contract saying their music can be played on a track, and they got paid whatever compensation they agreed to, then how is anyone being put out of work?

      @@ryankieth1675 All excellent points my friend and there's no denying a large number of artists use backing tracks these days, especially the larger production acts. I have actually worked as a drummer both touring and recording over several decades using sequencers and backing tracks at times and have watched it become more commonplace. In fact, I am currently working with a band that is covering this song and I wanted to see how the artists perform it live to get a feel for the "soul" of the song - not necessarily the polished and sometimes over-produced and somewhat stale studio version of songs this genre tends to produce. I guess I'm getting close to the "old man yells at clouds" stage of my life but I find it refreshing to watch a live performance where there's alignment between what my eyes see and what my ears hear. Regarding your question as to how is anyone being put out of work - I've seen other performances of this tune that include a bass player. That right there is an example of how backing tracks, especially something fundamental like a bass part, can take away work from a bass player or percussionist or singers or horn players or.... Having played in larger ensembles, I understand it's more mouths to feed but it keeps the music organic and genuine - in my humble opinion. Thanks for the feedback!
