Its worse here, our economy is like a flailing fish, fighting for its life. The normal state of the U.S. economy is actually very bad. Because of this it goes into convulsive spasms fighting to grow any way it can out of desperation. Tricks, gimmicks, rule changes try to stimulate the economy and prevent it from falling but they only bring temporary relief to people since, when you factor in inflation we are declining.
People believe their currency has the worth it does because they have no other option. Even in a hyperinflationary environment, individuals must continue to use their hyperinflationary currency since they likely have minimal access to other currencies or gold/silver coins.
I've tried investing in the stock market several times but always got discouraged by fluctuations of stock value. I would be happy if you could advise me based on how you went about yours, as I am ready to go the passive income path.!!

I do not want to picky, but the statement that Google's TPUs made attention possible is a little bit of overstretch. The paper itself says explicitly than Nvidia GPUs were used during training and does not mention TPUs at all. This is the best proof that we should take each and every statement made by people, who have their skin in the game, with a grain of salt.
I was saying this over a year ago when Nvidia stock was going insane. Made literally no sense to me when you're making a gpu and using it for a very specific purpose.
TPUs (Tensor Processing Units) are called NPUs (Neural Processing Units), in Intel's upcoming new Processors. Intel Arrow Lake, or Core Ultra 200. The successors to the Meteor Lake/Raptor Lake refresh 14th-generation, "Arrow Lake", which is expected to debut towards the end of 2024.
As a PhD in tensor calculus i tried to understand why they have chosen Tensor as main name for their processor. I studied the paper and there is no evidence that this processor is handling data as tensors. Instead, It seems they handle the data as matrix, and matrix are not tensors, although sometimes tensors can be represented as matrix.
I second that, everything he has done is to maximize profits by exploiting their monopoly, that wasn't so bad before Sundar Pichai, I love my Indian friends but even they know how greedy their culture can get. And now that they gain power and are using it relentless.
The Google chips are designed to handle the "transfomer" aspect of AI, which is arguably the most important and foundational to anything related to generative AI. The complete GPT solutions are being run on NVIDIA GPUs because there is nothing on the market that can touch the performance of the NVIDIA GPUs.
Why did that VP disguise his books on his book shelf, @5:20? You always put the book with the back facing you so you can see the title of it, but he did not. He also looks to have a Prussian rug on his floor.
Interesting, I was hoping to find out whether Google has continued with OpenPower (a la PowerPC from the 90's by IBM, Motorola and Apple) as their CPU in servers ...
More money elsewhere. Guys with his technical skills are sought for in Silicon Valley and very well enumerated. He could have gone to a startup where he can get stock options and be a millionaire many times over once the company goes public. Or just a bigger salary elsewhere.
When you work at the same org and company +15 years and the same technology +8, anything can get stale. Google's not the same company that Andy and I hired on back when. Much more formal company structure, less openess, excitement and enthusiasm. He didn't need the money, he just needed a change.
Liquid cooling has kinda had a renaissance in the server space recently if I'm not mistaken. It's become needed in the next generation of servers from people like NVIDIA where we have GPUs that are pulling kilowatts per chip.
Yes, the cray supercomputer was liquid cooled. Multi chip modules was developed and deployed in IBM 3081K, around 1980. Now called chipsets. What was old, now it is new.
Building one gaming pc with liquid cooling is not the same as trying to retrofit liquid cooling to an entire data center that had been designed for air cooling. They are doing it with new data centers or in existing data centers when they decommission old hardware and replace them with new hardware.
@@JasonB808 Well yeah. Except they didn't start designing racks for this in most cases until the last few years, at least for general applications. Now things like Nvidia's new DGX racks with per-server liquid cooling (iirc) exist.
This stuff is so labor intensive when you look at the physical size of the entire package, the huge cost, and astronomical electrical power needed to make it work the way it does. Like the beginning of the computer world where IBM took a huge building to house the equipment necessary to do simple computing, or the fist apollo moon landing where the onboard computer was less powerful than one of today's held calculators. How far into the future must we look to make all the current technology seem ancient in comparison. Maybe it's not that far away if quantum computing takes over that space. Maybe before all that happens, we will hit the limits of our resources and infrastructure pushing progress further into the future. Seems no matter how far we advance technology we often still hear complaints of how these advances are supposed to make our lives better but fall short of that goal. Guess some problems are here to stay.....
