Kyuhyun's solo debut song is one that you can't help but love. It's so iconic even after almost 10 years, and anyone who knows Korean ballads knows this one. No wonder he won so many awards with this song.

Good morning from Arizona, thank you again for another great reaction for SUJU Kyuhyun’s videos. Millions Pieces is my all time favorite, in my opinion the ending of the video, I think she ran out her medication and the pills on the second bottle were wrong ones. I feel so sorry for him at the end he feels like he’s got stood up..😢😭😩🥺
The story / theory behind "a million pieces" is that the woman has a terminal illness, so she wants to spend her days by going traveling around the world. She didn't know that in her travels she would meet Kyuhyun and she can be very happy in her last days. The reason she didn't take the pills and meet up with Kyuhyun the next day because she don't want to give hopes for Kyuhyun knowing that they will not ended up together for a long time because her of terminal illness. So that's why in the end Kyuhyun all alone at their meeting spot. Kyuhyun's majority storylines MV's are heartbreaking tbh. 😅
since the misinformation is already starting, I'm going to get ahead of the other lie i constantly see people repeating in comment sections: Yesung never coached or trained Kyuhyun in singing. Kyuhyun joined SM mere months before he debuted, and didn't meet any SJ members until the first time he was taken to dance practice with them after being told to learn the choreo for U. He was actually briefly coached by a very famous vocal trainer Park Sun Zoo/박선주 after she heard him sing at a singing competition, before joining SM, and before that he sang in a high school band. Kyuhyun's early vocal training is very well documented, and Yesung does not ever come into it. Kyuhyun has occasionally said that he likes Yesung's singing voice, but they clearly have very different singing styles that do not overlap.
While that's all true, I'm certain I saw either Yesung or Kyuhyun mention at one point that Yesung gave him vocal tips early on, maybe before he went to university or during before he really honed his voice. It could be people are confused thinking it was before his debut and to what extent Yesung helped him, but I don't think it's a total lie.
kyuhyun literally applied for and was accepted into university before he was allowed to join SM, that still falls outside of the timeline. and during the period from debut until kyuhyun graduated his singing style never grew closer to yesung's singing style, so unless yesung's tip was "do not sound like me at all" he didn't tell kyuhyun anything.
@@bookworm83197 Yesung does have his own style, but so does any vocal coach, and the point of vocal teaching is not to make the person sound like you, but help them improve their own instrument. I'm not saying Yesung was his only mentor or anything, but it's not impossible that Kyu could have learned something from him. They formed KRY very soon after Kyu joined, and you can tell even now how Yesung watches their harmonies and leads them. So maybe it's not so much technique on his own voice, but how to sing with a group.
Kyuhyun and Yesung not only sound different, which could be explained by vocal coaching, their utilization of singing technique is completely different, which is clear if you listen to them for all of 20 seconds. Yesung has the classic trained by SM Yoo Youngjin sound, Kyuhyun does not sing like that at all. Kyuhyun sang in church choir before he joined super junior, he would not have learned more about how to sing harmonies in the scant months before the KRY subunit was formed than he would have in the years before that singing in church. Furthermore, "singing with a group" is something the entirety of Super Junior does, arguing Yesung would only have given advice about that once a trio subunit was formed makes no sense. Also, I want you to look at how far you have strayed from my initial statement that "Yesung never coached or trained Kyuhyun" and even your own argument that Yesung gave him vocal tips. In my 10+ years of being an ELF, I had never seen this argument crop up in anything until 2019 and later. If you can find a reliable source or other evidence from before 2014, when Yesung enlisted (since he's said himself that he was surprised by how Ryeowook and Kyuhyun's singing improved when he returned), that Yesung taught or coached Kyuhyun in any kind of vocal lesson setting, I invite you to bring your sources. I myself have attempted to dig back for a primary source, and the earliest source I found was a bahasa fansite from a few years back that made the claim without citing to any interview, official news article, video clip, or other primary source. This should not be difficult to do. There are several early 2010-11 interviews in which Kyuhyun talked at length about how hard he worked to improve at his singing due to his musicals, and how he was influenced by the examples set by his musical sunbaes, or any singing or performing advice they gave him. If this truly happened, there should be primary sources.
@@bookworm83197 To be honest, I wasn't planning on going this deep. My original response wasn't really to argue against you. In fact, I even said that what you said was true. My point was that while Yesung may have never coached Kyuhyun in any formal setting, it doesn't mean that Yesung could have never helped him. I'm just saying there were lots of opportunities for him to do that, regardless of how different their styles are. It might be something no one would ever notice. I say all this because even a master can learn new things. Kyuhyun may be better than him vocally, but that doesn't mean there is nothing that Yesung could have helped him with. When I mentioned KRY, I wasn't talking about before they formed, but during and afterwards. As for sources, I wouldn't even know where to begin to look. It's just something I thought I heard, but could be wrong.
Thank you for this, his solo work does have its own expression of color. I’ve heard that Yesung almost released At Gwanghwamun for his solo work. Thank you and please react to a few more in the future.
That’s not true. There was a while there where SM wanted to use At Gwanghwamun as a K.R.Y b-side, but Kenzie has always stated that she wrote the song with Kyuhyun in mind specifically. It’s always been Kyuhyun’s song.
“And when I thought about which singer could unleash these emotions, I thought there was nobody but Kyuhyun. More than anything, I wanted Kyuhyun’s skill and voice to show this sensitivity to the public.” - Kenzie’s thoughts on At Gwanghwamun
Idk where you got that info, but it's totally wrong. AtG was thought as track for a K.R.Y. album before YeSung's enlistment, but that album never happened, so... instead, KyuHyun had to fight SM so AtG could be his solo debut song, also, Kenzie, the writer and composer of the song has stated that there's no one who can sing AtG the way KH does bcoz it was made to be for KH, so AtG belongs to KH and KH only.
@@Kyu0203 pal... who lied to you?? Where did you get that info?? Jesus Christ!! Are you really a Kyustan, an akgae or what?? Kenzie never said such things, she only clarified that she composed AtG thinking that KyuHyun's voice was the voice for that song. OMG.
@@Kyu0203 well, provide the link bcoz the only interview I've read about Kenzie talking about AtG and KH, she never said that it was recorded by K.R.Y., she just said that she is a demanding composer so she pays attention and cares about the smallest details and whips singers into the vocals she wants. SM wanted AtG as a song for K.R.Y., that was the company's plan but it didn't happened and as far as I know, the subunit never recorded it and the few times they sang AtG happened in the Phonograph Tour.
