I went back the next week in skirt/dress and had a scarf on my head. Prayed for the hermit as he requested. Haven't spoken to him since, he seems to be in his own world praying everytime I've seen him since, his heart is in the right place. I'm in the UK currently and will be looking for a Latin mass so I can go again, be veiled (and it not be awkward as other women are doing it) as well as accepting the Eucharist kneeling (something my local Polish parish here in the UK has dropped, but they're great in other ways, but seem a little liberal in how people should dress and accept Communion etc.). Amen! Thank you Only one woman covers her head at our mass. I attended a Latin mass at another church many women were veiled so I ordered one and wore it to the next Latin mass I felt very humbled and good. I am afraid to wear it at my church because the women are very liberal thinking. This has given me encouragement to try it there. God bless!
Hi Crystal. I was the same way because I think I was the first one to veil at my church. I knew our Blessed mother asked me to do it but I was embarrassed and didn’t want to do it, but I obeyed her! It probably took me at least six months to feel comfortable. Because my pride was in the way. And then after wearing it for that long and sitting before my Lord with the veil on, I’ve completely transformed my image of what it means. It’s humbling, it’s honoring of our Lord, it’s protecting me from the world as I sit before my Lord at Mass. I encourage you to keep it up and not be embarrassed, just ask our Blessed mother to help you through this. After all she wore a veil all the time too!
I don't care what those liberal women think! I'm veiling for HIM not them! They usually have masculine ugly choppy fried hair styles that would be vastly improved by covering with veil!
Thank you.for this video Father. I started veiling last Fall. I did it as a mortification in reparation for the crisis in the church. I saw it this way because there was a lot of fear on my part in doing so. I am one of three women who veil and I am the most consistent. Got past the fear, don't care about looks as this is my offering to my Lord every time I am in his presence. It is a precious visible offering of betrothal to Christ.
I'm.being baptised in 2 nights. In more modern church only 2 women veil (my friends.) God has nudged me to veil, I will do so at my Baptism and continue to do so. I think it is a beautiful to honour our God in such a way.
Excellent teaching father !!!! I began to veil in a large church where only 2 women veiled but waited 2 yrs to veil myself . I was very nervous so felt it was my pride because I just thought of myself and fitting in . I ignored my worries veiled and now 3 yrs later 20 women now veil and I began attending another church where there to 18 women now veil . Mass will never be the same if you just begin to veil and trust in Our Lord and Savior!!! 🥰
Now a days it is very rare to see that woman in church cover their head during the prayer meeting and Holy mass, covering of women's head during with Holy Mass , worship and avoid men's head covering while in worship and Holy Mass is obeying Apostolic writing, Apostolic writings are GOD commandments through Holy Spirit,so return to early church traditions and scriptural commandments not human traditions and philosophy. From fullness of heart mouth speaks.
I used to feel self conscience about veiling so I started off wearing a veil the same color as my hair. Now I have veils in every liturgical color! I love veiling because I feel so close to Jesus. Its like in that moment in my veil, I feel this intimacy like I belong to Jesus. I am His. I love it.
I veil , when reading the bible and attending church. I’ve been doing this since 5 yrs after reading Corinthians 11, best decision of my life, feel so blessed.
St Paul said women should always have their heads covered in the church. Nothing has changed since then. That’s what I was taught when I converted at age 30. I attend the TLM only. They do request that all women wear the veil, and have spare clean ones in the foyer if you forget one. They also frequently mention modesty in dress. Skirts, dresses below the knee, shoulders and arms mostly covered etc. the old fashioned Sunday Best. Men wear suits and ties. It makes sense if you believe in the real prescence. You’re appearing before God.
Wow, that's great. What state do you live in ? In southern California, we have so many people who come to church with no respect. Men dress like they are going to the beach or football game. The females , have no shame . Backless, too low tops, too tight or too short. Some come in short shorts. It's so sad. They can wear that after mass. Just one day of the week ! Have respect people.
For whatever reason, I have 3 veils, none of which have I worn. I will deeply reconsider. And I find it par for the course that spell check does not want me to give this review. At every turn it trys to rewrite what I want to say. Bless you for this video. It has opened my eyes.
I just started veiling when I felt Mother Mary encourage me to do so - actually to almost order me to do so. She was beautiful in asking me to do this. How could I refuse? I love it. And this video was so helpful to me because I, too, found that people hardly took notice of my veil. They acted like I wasn’t wearing one. Amazing. I feel “right” about veiling and close to Jesus. When I asked Mother Mary why veil? She said “you are in the presence of your Lord and King”.
I knew I recognized it. .the accent, the choice of words, the cadence. .a man of my home state. .his voice is a song from my childhood. .what a beautiful explanation of a beautiful practice. .
I am a guy but I can relate to the discomfort women felt when they started wearing a veil. My discomfort came from wearing a crucifix around my neck for the first time. That was many years ago, and now, I cannot go out without it. it's my badge, my identity. I have had many interesting encounters because of it, including being mistaken for a priest. I just tell them I am not a priest, I am a nun, spelled N-O-N-E.
I wear a veil or chaplet at church. I have been laughed at..."Is that you?"..I, also, wear a skirt mostly hem way below my knees or at my ankle. I honor Father God, Lord Jesus....and follow Our Mother Mary.......several young ladies are wearing the veil also now, but not many. But the looks still come. Blessed be Dear Lord. It will continue.
Thank you, Father. Very beautiful. I would like to begin veiling, but as you stated, I don't want to stick-out in the crowd. I need to find the courage.
I started veiling on Pentecost Sunday 3 years ago. I am the only one veiling in the city where I reside. I have been identified as the lady with the veil. 😊 We have TLM once a month, and we have to travel 2 hours back and forth. That's the time when the women veil once a month. I pray that you have the courage to veil. It is a special feeling because it's like have a tent that helps you focus on the Lord during mass.
My daughter and I began veiling roughly 2 yrs ago. It has meant so much to us! There have been SEVERAL who started veiling after we did. You may be the inspiration for the others who are scared! When you do it....just recall why you do it! FOR OUR LORD! 💓 It is AMAZING!
L KayBee Same, even kneeling for communion takes courage at the parish I'm at now :( ...I've ordered a veil though (I'm in love with it and checking everyday hoping it'll come soon, although it's sceduled to be another month!) as I've been wanting to veil in mass, accept Eucharist kneeling (I will need to do it at a Latin mass though, so will see if I can find a way to go to one).
Thank you for this video. Veiling was something I had thought about doing for some time, then the week before Lent this year I received an email from Veils by Lily and it said... “have you thought about veiling?” Felt the time was rights. So I started veiling this Lenten season. Since then my three daughters ages 12,11, and 5 have requested their desire to start veiling and on Palm Sunday we all went to mass with our veils. Since I have started I have felt closer to my religion and have felt like my heart is more open to learning more about my faith.
Veiling is very healing for me. I am very greatful for it. My grandmother and my mother both veiled. I feel unity with them now as I veil. But it means much more to me than intergenerational unity.
I love my chapel veil. I dont go to the Latin. I find it as a way to show my reverence to the Lord. I dont care if people stare at it, it is just a way of silent evangalization.
I wish I'd found this years ago, although only in the past year or two have I even thought about doing that, I thought it was something for widows and unmarried young women. I only started veiling about a year ago and I was encouraged by seeing a couple of the young women from a local university wearing them. I thought if they can do it I can do it and I started doing it and at first I was very self-conscious because I didn't want to look like I was being holier than thou which is I guess not uncommon. But I talked to my priest and he said if that's something Jesus is putting on your heart then do it and I've been doing it for about a year and I absolutely love love love it! And a couple of other women have asked me about it and they're thinking of doing it also. So, do it ladies, be a good example to others. Let's get back to our roots and let's spread the truth of it and not let the misconceptions continue!❤❤❤
Thank you for this wonderful homily full of so much important information about our faith. I am truly working on myself and my life as a Catholic woman, and this was very helpful❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you I was raised Catholic and my mother ,grandmother and aunt always wore there veils ❤they have passed on I have there veils. I am starting to wear them. I feel strange in novas ordo because no other women wear one but maybe 2 . Anyway I feel it is our duty to show others a Holy example of love and respect for God . Thank you for these talks . Maybe we can bring this beautiful practice back one person at a time . Pray for us . 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I bought 2 veils today just by chance/ maybe intuitively. I am not sure. But I am now sure that I want to cover myself with it when I talk, pray, venerate and worship God.
At mass this morning a young woman entered with a woolen hat. She removed and replaced with a veil. In that moment my own heart was given right custody the Holy Ghost lifted my heart to the Lord. Mass could begin in right order.
In the Caribbean the Clergy / Churches do not practise some of the rituals that are done in Churches outside our Region. But we definitely have the Mass the way it should be.
I’m Orthodox, and I enjoyed this presentation. I am in a parish where women do not veil, except for a few “from the old country”. However, an exception is the new young priest’s wife. I’m hopeful this will encourage others to reappropriate this liturgically meaningful practice over time. Thanks for sharing.
An excellent and beautiful talk. Probably the best I've ever heard. However there are a couple of errors in it and very few clergy will agree with me, but it is not optional for a woman to wear or not wear it. 1983 Code of Canon law did not abrogate the 1917 Code which did mandate it. Secondly it is a matter of subjection to the husband without violating the woman's dignity, and more meritorious for the woman. Read THE TRUE SPOUSE OF JESUS CHRIST by St. Alphonsus on the merit of obedience. Not male dominance but the authority ordained by God himself. Gen. 3.16
I was told it had to do with the Fallen Angels being attracted to women therefore with their heads covered. It made them less noticeable to them. A veil was any head covering except a piece of tissue doesn't count. As a school child in the sixties I had to wear uniform that had a beanie this replace the veil. Looking for a veil try place selling Church Goods. Know someone that sews they can make Chapel Veil, a short round piece of cloth that cover just the crown of the head, or the long veil.
When I was in school use to keep both the Chapel Veil and beanie in my school bag. One for me and one for someone else. As an adult kept the Chapel Veil in my handbag. It never bother me whether or I should were a veil or not after all that between you and the Lord!!!!!! And no body else !!!!!! AMEN
soo meaningful to me lord teach me to be humble to your will, having discovered the danger of wearing indecently, I f I am truly in love with the maker then I must adjust in many ways of my life I need God,s grace lord help me overcome worldly vanities.
It is still Church law for Women to cover their head during Mass and adoration. There is nothing in the 1983 Canon law that mentions not covering the head or changing church law or tradition. So many priests have been misinformed about this tradition. Even a New Order Mass still has this law.
The feminists won't like it but yes, it's very easy to notice how much more feminine and beautiful a woman wearing a veil in church looks, along with a dress, not the pants of a man! Not objectifying, just poing out the obvious. Does a man look good in shorts flip flops and a ball cap? No, he must dress like a man to honor our Lord in the Church. Look at the old women who look dignified and beautiful when wearing a dress or skirt and a veil and not pants. When you go into a novus ordo to pray and see the old women wearing Jean's and tennis shoes it's sad, they've lost a big part of their dignity because feminism told them to dress like that. There are even Catholic prophets and mystics who saw this time and said women would dress like men and men women so that you would not be able to tell which was which.
I veil for about 5 years because it is our traditional in Eritrea it is full respect for God Almyty but in my parish we are 2 women only we veil I wish we fallow the Tradition let us pray pray
My new liberal catholic priest in San Bernadino dedicated a homily on the wonderful things that came out of Vat II and one was GETTING RID OF THE VEILS!

As they said that veiling holy ,solitude etc for me in my opinion i would focus my prayer to God,me and God have moment alone ,veiling wouldn't destruct sitting next to you inside the church!amen!
10:10 When he talked about not understanding why some people would feel repelled to something as beautiful as veiling, I thought I might offer my point of view. I think veiling is very beautiful. I am about to start veiling, but for a long time, I have felt a very big aversion to this practice. Why though? Well, it's not because I am afraid of doing something other people might think is old fashion--not in the least. It's not because I think it suppresses women or something like that, but it was more because of the people I knew who veiled. I have met so many women that veiled who were so rude, so judgemental, so unkind, unwelcoming, harsh, sharp, controlling, and condescending towards me, my family, and other people I have known for not meeting their standards of holiness, or goodness, or whatever it was that made them not like me, my family and friends. They were so much so that they stood out to me as even more unkind than the secular people I have been friends with. To me, it has represented all of the bad qualities and traits that represent a traditional woman. I did not want someone to look at me and say, "that is a traditional Catholic" for the fear they would think something very similar to how I feel, that they think they are better than me and I am not welcome. So what made me decide to start to veil? Well, a couple of things, but I decided I would wear a veil that isn't lace and is more discrete. It is between me and God.
It is very sad that you were mistreated by others who gave you the impression of being haughty and looking down at you. I hope that your veiling experience is positive and blesses your spirit.
This was never mentioned to me in RCIA. I had no idea that women wore veils. I want to wear one, so I bought one. The problem is I'm not sure if I have the right color. I'm widowed and I bought a white veil, should I have bought a black one? Does the color matter?
I prefer coming to His Presence as I am. Unveiled as He knows me. Not covered I don't need a curtain to step into the holy of the holies, to be alone with Him. For the veil doesn't make a bride, nor the habit a nun, not any decoration a church. What dignity of a bride is in a dress-up marriage that doesn't last! As a Roman Catholic girl, I was taught to have my forehead unobstructed, spotless and cleared high even of any fringes or shades.
@@balukuroben7458 Certainly, for Him we are naked. We will return back Home naked as we came down here from our mother's womb, naked. Satan is the one who dressed us up on our way out of Eden and who told us "Shame! Shame! Shame! Hide from your God now you are mine. "
@@chaddopay to each own. I veil as a devotion and Our blessed Lady was ' veiled '. Yes we are 'naked' to God's eyes because He is all seeing and knowing, yet we clothe ourselves. I Choose to cover (clothe)my head for Holy Mass and that is my choice. Some women don't want to veil and that is their choice. One is not better than the other. Frankly I find women who don't choose to veil make a bigger deal/ criticize/even mock women who do🤔. I say no more...
Father, could there be guidance when husband asks me not to veil when with him. I do when I got I mass alone and during adoration or anytime within the church. But today was first time husband came with to mass in a little while and I wore a headband out of obedience to my husband. I guess even slight fear of pushing him further away due to my behavior. here in korea too in the mass womans wear a veil, our prayer is acceptable with God,ang mary is our spiritual model in church, catholic church is church of Jesus all things inside the church has meaningful to Gog
It’s one of the things that is quite nice, when I travel around the Balkans and Greece. Veils are available in all the Orthodox churches, but to just visit, no one is told they have to wear one, though in some places, this may be true..it wasn’t, in Bulgaria. . It’s quite nice, although honestly, I don’t normally wear one. I would be horrified to be Center of attention, in any case, but I have considered. I’m off to Halkidiki, so may purchase one, just for the visit. I will have to attend Orthodox liturgy. No,Catholic churches, within reasonable distance, on that Peninsula...lol
The Catholic Church in Ireland stopped veiling in the 1960s. It would be difficult to enforce the wearing of the mantilla, as we always called it here, in 2024. I have no objection myself.
For some reason I don’t feel comfortable with something on my head when I’m going to pray. Like a hat or a hoodie or a beanie etc. I’m a guy by the way. And I’m just saying. It’s like when you take your hat off to show honor or respect
It not a coincidence today I was reflecting on this topic the veiling. I was thinking about the veiling of muslims as well. Baha’u’llah says that today we do not need to use the veil. Pls investigate Bahá’í.org.
Father, you may not be the most intelligent Priest, however, it seems to me, it’s those priest, who believe they are so intelligent that has caused the most harm in the church😢💔 in listening to you, you are a holy Priest, and isn’t that what our Lord wants from you?
From 1st Corinthians 11 scripture: "3 ... I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5 But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head-it is the same as having her head shaved." The loss of women wearing the veil is a victory of the Woman's Liberation Movement within the Liturgy of the Church.
If you believe in GOD almighty through JESUS CHRIST please read Bible on daily basis then you will learn without any doubt, modesty in dressing and head covering for women in church and during prayers is GOD commandments through Apostolic letter.please read versus from 1 Timothy chapter 2/1-15 and 1 Corinthians chapter 11/2-16
Idealizing or requiring women to veil in Church is similar to the extremist Islamist requirement for women to wear hijab in public. To reason out it's for modesty, why are only women required to be modest? If so, men should also be modest and wear the veil in Church.
Completely different. we catholic only wear veil for holy mass or when praying the in the blessed sacrament or in the church. Wearing the veil is showing respect, & being humble in the eyes of the Lord. While muslim women wearing hijab all the time the slave of alla. So sisters dont compare the hijab of the muslim women.

I started veiling Lent 2021.
AMEN!
I'm.being baptised in 2 nights. In more modern church only 2 women veil (my friends.)
God has nudged me to veil, I will do so at my Baptism and continue to do so.
I think it is a beautiful to honour our God in such a way.
I hope things are going well for you. I started veiling recently and I love it
Excellent teaching father !!!! 🥰
Going to a traditional Latin mass can take the apprehension of veiling as many women do veil at that form of mass💕

Amen🙏🏽🌹

As a former Ethiopian Orthodox but now a Catholic I kept the tradition of wear the veil. I can’t imaging praying or going to mass without it

I'm Ukrainian Greek Catholic and also veil.
Synopsis: all veils in the church elicit much reverence, silence, seriousness, solititude, reflection.
I hate suits! Bring back tunics and robes!
I began veiling 8 years ago, and stopped because we moved and they were in storage. I just recently began veiling again and it feels so good.
I think of my veil as the lattice that the Lord peers through, as in Song of Solomon's Lattice in which the Lord looks at his beloved
I have veiled for about 10 years now. Its beautiful. It's for HIM.
I honor Father God, Lord Jesus....and follow
Our Mother Mary.......several young ladies are wearing the veil also now, but not many.
But the looks still come.
Blessed be Dear Lord. It will continue.
Most beautiful homily. God bless you Father.
I have kept my Nonnas veils from Italy in the 1900s. They felt so sacred to me. I could not get rid of them💕
We have been wearing the veil since we were little girls. My grandma and aunts, cousins would wear it. But now only a few wear it. Sad..
Thank you, Father. Very beautiful. I would like to begin veiling, but as you stated, I don't want to stick-out in the crowd. I need to find the courage.
At a TLM you won't.
Do it! The others will follow. You will love it!
Thank you, Father. I started veiling about 5 years ago and I am thankful for your good teaching on this matter.
Veiling is very healing for me. I am very greatful for it. My grandmother and my mother both veiled. I feel unity with them now as I veil. But it means much more to me than intergenerational unity.
I never thought about “ad orientum,” “Latin,” and “silence” as all being forms of a veil. Wow!… Makes sense.
This is such a good Catholic channel ❤️
I agree, it is such a good Catholic channel. At times I feel gluttonous for indulging so much time into this channel. I cannot get enough!
I love my chapel veil. I dont go to the Latin. I find it as a way to show my reverence to the Lord. I dont care if people stare at it, it is just a way of silent evangalization.
Very good explanation, I've never heard it put that way before.
Yes very enlightening
Sure wish there were more priests like this one!! Great job Father! Please keep these videos coming!
Well said Father and our dear Lord Jesus Christ deserves unceasing praises and honours from us Catholics for His love and mercy He has shown us. Amen
Keep it up! You are lighting the way for others by your good example.
As a man there is nothing more beautiful than to any woman wearing a veil in a true Catholic mass!
I am also reminded of the "shekinah" or divine glow contained in the Exodus Tent.

That was a first class sermon. One of the better in my experience.
thank you so much for this info. It has made veiling a more "natural" experience for me.
I'm Ukrainian Greek Catholic and started veiling after reading 1 Corinthians.
Thank you father for your infomation about wearing the veil. God bless you
Beautiful explanation of why we should wear a veil.
I'm planning to buy it and started wearing
This is Biblical Truth Amen
An excellent and beautiful talk. Probably the best I've ever heard. However there are a couple of errors in it and very few clergy will agree with me, but it is not optional for a woman to wear or not wear it. 1983 Code of Canon law did not abrogate the 1917 Code which did mandate it.
Secondly it is a matter of subjection to the husband without violating the woman's dignity, and more meritorious for the woman. Read THE TRUE SPOUSE OF JESUS CHRIST by St. Alphonsus on the merit of obedience. Not male dominance but the authority ordained by God himself. Gen. 3.16
True
AMEN
Blessed be God forever!!! Thank you ✝️♥️✝️
This video will be shared with many. I hope they use veil from now on🙏🙏🙏God Bless Us All🙏🙏🙏

It is still Church law for Women to cover their head during Mass and adoration. There is nothing in the 1983 Canon law that mentions not covering the head or changing church law or tradition. So many priests have been misinformed about this tradition. Even a New Order Mass still has this law.
Please stop. 🙁
Great sermon! Veiling is not only great for the spiritual life - it's actually hot! 🔥🙂🙏

You should wear a veil to every mass he says.
How sad 😭
This was so beautiful. I would like to veil.
As they said that veiling holy ,solitude etc for me in my opinion i would focus my prayer to God,me and God have moment alone ,veiling wouldn't destruct sitting next to you inside the church!amen!
I don't have veil, but I do love wearing veil during holy mass, I think I have to find one.
Thank you for this
10:10 When he talked about not understanding why some people would feel repelled to something as beautiful as veiling, I thought I might offer my point of view.
I went to catholic school. We were taught the reason for females veiled was so men wouldn't be tempted by women's hair.
Jesus is just here beyond the veil
Women, as brides, represent all of creation. We, all creation, are the bride and Jesus is the Bridegroom.
Thanks for the great video!
This was never mentioned to me in RCIA. I had no idea that women wore veils. I want to wear one, so I bought one. The problem is I'm not sure if I have the right color. I'm widowed and I bought a white veil, should I have bought a black one? Does the color matter?
Black veil is for Married and widowed women. White veil is for unmarried women.
I prefer coming to His Presence as I am. Unveiled
as He knows me. Not covered
I don't need a curtain to step into the holy of the holies, to be alone with Him.
We must have been taught by the same nuns.

Certainly, for Him we are naked.
Is the website working anymore? I can't seem to access it. Thank you.
The Catholic Church in Ireland stopped veiling in the 1960s. It would be difficult to enforce the wearing of the mantilla, as we always called it here, in 2024. I have no objection myself.
I wear hats in public, it’s a head covering. I veil at home during prayer.
For some reason I don’t feel comfortable with something on my head when I’m going to pray. Like a hat or a hoodie or a beanie etc. I’m a guy by the way. And I’m just saying. It’s like when you take your hat off to show honor or respect
Men leave their head uncovered in church.
Does anyone remember (way back) when all the women at Mass wore hats?
It not a coincidence today I was reflecting on this topic the veiling. I was thinking about the veiling of muslims as well. Baha’u’llah says that today we do not need to use the veil. Pls investigate Bahá’í.org.
Father, you may not be the most intelligent Priest, however, it seems to me, it’s those priest, who believe they are so intelligent that has caused the most harm in the church😢💔 in listening to you, you are a holy Priest, and isn’t that what our Lord wants from you?
You can make some Veils , my sister made some, for us 6 sisters.

Do people veil to enter church or only for mass?
We veil in the True Presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.
@@angelornelas2711 “showing respect and being humble in the eyes of the Lord” is not for women only. Men too. By your logic, men need to wear veils in church also.
