    Nice post, thank you.
Of all the keys, the high D really is in a love/hate predicament for me. I appreciate my various high D whistles, but on some days, they are frustrating.

Sometimes, I appreciate the brightness of them, but most of the time, I wish Irish music was played on a C or even Bb. I generally prefer the C version of a whistle over a D of the same make, but the D whistles are what people want to know about.

@@NathanielDowell I am in agreement with you on the Bb and C. I love my Bb's the best and can handle C. The D's are just too much at the top end of the second octave. I too wished that Irish music had developed in the Bb. It's high second octave is still high but not ear piercing and the low notes are just beautifully mellow.

Well a good test comparison, not heard the Setanta before ,I have the brass Killarney, I was surprised how much better that the Setanta sounded than the Killarney. I love playing the Killarney whistle, which in the UK is about £68.00 but the Setanta comes in at almost double £138+ Whether I would pay the extra for a Setatnta is debateable. For a session musician probably yes.

What tunes are you playing? The second is the Kesh Jig (I think), and it sounds like you were going to go into Ashokan Farewell, but I was wondering about the first tune.

I think I've been playing "Jerry's Beaver Hat/Kesh Jig" and then launching into "Ashokan Farwell", but I stopped before the last tune this time. I feel like I need to learn a new set for testing, but I also kind of like the idea of the consistency of doing the same tunes on any testing video. On one video I made, I was trying really hard not to play the same tune I'd played on the last few videos, and you can almost see me shuffling tunes in my head before I finally gave up and played another well worn tune.

I appreciate that you - mostly - play the same tunes. It makes it easy easier for me to compare.

Thank you for making it easier for those of us with little whistle budgets to make better choices. It's tough ordering something online only to be surprised when it arrives. Your videos help immensely.

Nathaniel Dowell I think it is helpful to play the same set on various whistles for better comparison. I was asking about the first tune especially because I like it and was not sure of the name and if I’d heard it elsewhere or just on your channel.

Thanks! I've found that very relaxed fingers are key, especially for the A and B rolls. It really helps with the timing.

Solid whistle, the Setanta! Petty question. Is the logo a sticker and able to be pulled off? Great whistle, but that logo is really an eye sore to me haha

Agreed, and yes, I believe it is removable. I've been paring down my collection in the last few months, so this one has a new owner.

I'd be careful about removing the logo as doing so may leave a sticky residue. Cleaning that off might mar the finish. It is a curious logo. What appears to be an ancient Greek war helmet on an Irish whistle. I wonder to its meaning.

Apparently the Killarney 'C' is not too light.
