Can you do a video on how to access individual bits from a word in Micro800 PLC? I did this in RSLogix as an alarm register compare to zero for alarming but not sure how to do it in CCW. Thanks and keep up the great videos!
I wish they would make it so you could easily browse them but to access them, select the word tag then press the period key then the but number such as my tag.4
Also, in the latest version of CCW, you can put descriptions on the bits of an integer
@@TimWilborne Thanks so much! 😀
Hi, thanks for your contributions. Have you ever sent and received messages from a Micro 820 to a Fanuc robot?
No. I should probably reach out to Fanuc sometime and see if I can do a collaboration.
@@TimWilborne That would be great, thanks for replying.
👍
Good morning sir!!!
MSG_CIPGENERIC (common industrial protocol generic message) please make a video on this instruction sir.
That would be a good one.
Is this similar for talking between an 850 to an l81 or other ctrlogix. we need to go back and fourth
It would be similar, here is a video to help you.

I don't know what I've done wrong, but my write data length is 0 even though I have it set to 1..40 and I'm not firing any outputs to the main plc
Look at your error code, it should help.
@@TimWilborne it said unsupported symbolic symbol was my error but i couldn't find it, did notice when I would put it in read with (0), the error went away.
Data type not symbol
What data type is your source and destination?
@@TimWilborne I'll check that at work Monday thanks Tim
Tim do you have any idea on why my output wouldn't hold in when enabling it through the cip?
What is the output on?
@@TimWilborne do you mean like what it's landed on physically?
What hardware and how are you programming it?
Unrelated ,but does anyone have any strong methods/techniques for diagnosing machines that use structured text programming for the plc ? Any resources for diagnosing machines using structured text code ? Thanks
I have been working on improving my structured text skills and should do some videos on it. The biggest thing that people don't realize is what the set of eyeglasses do at the right end of the online bar. They give you current values of the tags in your program.
@@TimWilborneyes I wasn’t aware pf that function . Until once I accidentally clicked on it while searching for an alarm active
I think that's how I found it too 😂
