I have been using the 'Just Fly' mod for what seems like years. And now I always enable the 'fly' mode. (Also I don't care about Achievements in any game. I will always disable them if possible.)
My favorite is when you unlock shatter rebar tech. ADA's comments are freaking hilarious. Anybody else notice, some of the portable miners are named portobello miners. I'm loving all of these hidden jokes and messages.
I would recommend sinking the Alien Organic Capsules, they give 1000 points each, quite a decent early coupon farm when you are hunting for hard drives anyways.
also dont forget to double them with somersloops. Im on phase 5 right now, and i still use my points occasionally to buy some some parts in bulk for easier crafting. I dont have everything automated yet.
When I started in the Rocky Desert, I had thought to make my starter base up there, but it seemed very impractical with the copper node being impure vs the two normal nodes with 6 normal iron nodes right next to spawn.

Experienced players will build vertical factories with walkways higher up, or other multiple high points from which you can see/place things top-down if required. But often stuff like belting is just done closer down. It may look clunky but it's really not too bad, just takes time

I'd love to be able to refill from the coffee machine inside, and if you get a refill there, it restores full health. But only that one special brew, the regular cup is still for show.
You can only get alt recipes for things you have unlocked, so if you need a specific one, then don't unlock more new recipes until you get them. Leave the hard-drive processed but don't choose the recipe if you don't like any of them, the ones displayed cannot be rolled for new hard-drives
I always hate being attacked by alien whoozits. What are the thoughts on running in "Retalitory" mode, where the creatures don't attack on sight, but only when you attack them first?

There are two sets of game options when you start a new game, and you can also change them in-game, from the home screen (the screen you see when you first fire up the game for that session). The first is on the left under options, then in a sub-menu. The second is at the bottom of the screen when you go to start a new game, you can change advanced options. These settings let you adjust things like no cost to build, passive creatures, no spiders - or cat spiders, fly, become invencable (for the most part, if you are suisideal there is no hope or help for you), and more.

And use Somersloops in the constructors on both the protein and the alien DNA machines to double the output. Also don't craft power shards by hand put them in an constructor with Somersloops to get double output. If you don't have a lot of Somersloops, then change the recipe on one constructor for the different power slugs so you will always get double output

To much of a boomer to add a timestamp or its disabled :/ but refering the Copper-Pipes. Isn't the splitter supposed to split stuff evenly? So if you split up something with 30 into 2 its 15 but the constructor needs 20? Then you put it in a merger which adds the 2 15 back to 30. So the mid one gets 30 and the outer ones are on 15, or am I wrong?
I am so stealing that simple stitched plate/iron wire build, I saw all those decimals on my machines and figured I would just wing it, Im not even gonna say how badly optimized that was, your design has now been stolen Sir, try and stop me :D
Personally, I didn't understand the need to add an input to the Biomass Generator. Hand feeding doesn't take long, when the production of Solid Biomass is stored right by them. I, nor my friends, use them at all after having coal power set up either (with exception to a bootstrap BmG for initial start up and reboot after a system shitdown). Outside of possible speedrunning strats, is there a good reason to have an automated BmG array or is it something just for aesthetics?
Imo setting up this massive starter base is a big waste of time. There are multiple reasons: 1. You will spend a bunch of time refueling your power generators as the fuel required scales with power. 2. The number of resources required pre-space elevator is purposely relatively low so that you don't have to scale up very hard to get to full automation. 3. You delay your time getting to coal power which is the first big turning point of the game. 4. You do not have any alternate recipes yet, which are massive for simplifying and making your production more efficient. You can cut out so many production steps with just a few early game recipes so building it all based on default ones wastes time. 5. To top it all off you could say "why not, I have basic resources whenever I want now at least". But since you dont get fast transportation or mass long distance transport till way later you cant just grab new nodes real quick for expansion. You are incentivised early to just use the nodes near you
Turn 'Dialog Volume' to zero in the Audio settings. Also in General settings you can check the 'Disable Narrative Messages' to disable all ADA's comments.

I've played like 130 hours of satisfactory, but wasn't able to stick with it all the way due to a few things: performance issues at large scale, graphical glitches and general jank even affecting my ability to place buildings at times, and most of all a constrained first-person perspective which makes it harder to visualize, design, build, and maintain a huge factory. Now, I think it does one thing well: it's immersive, and makes you feel like you're but a small maintenance worker in a huge sprawling factory. I love that part, but for the reasons I mentioned, I struggle to stick with this graphical style in the context of a factory building game, and would rather have everything perfectly and precisely laid out like it is in Factorio or even Shapez. So it really depends on what you're looking for from a factory/automation game, and they may be looking for something else.
Motion sickness sucks. My best friend can't play any First Person game for more than an hour or so without getting super nauseous. I had it the first time recently with DOOM II of all things.

Well, not never, but they will be very slow UNTIL the first burners get full, then it will simply overflow to the next ones. Just the standard manifold design.
The nature of a manifold design, the end ones will eventually fill as the ones before max out capacity, otherwise you'd have to do load balancing and it would take up a lot of room, a lot of complexity. Peak consumption of solid biomass is like 2.5 a minute per burner, so you'll over saturate the earlier in the sequence soon enough. -That said, 24 burners is a lot, but it doesn't hurt anything.
@@krakenkill it only hurts the speed to reach the coal stage. In U8, i had only 10 and refilled them twice before getting to coal. With automatic biofuel crafting and automatic refilling, i don't know how much exactly was used in 1.0, but 24 is pretty huge ... On the other hand, i just finished a spelevator phase and even before doing any oil, i got a jetpack that can use my surplus of solid biofuel :-)

for showing what the factory looks like you can use organization -> lookout towers, they get far above the fray, and let you layout quite well.

i may be late to the party but turn your Proteins into DNA Capsules and put the DNA Capsules into the sink

You need to know that each splitter separates conveyor flow by 2, so your latest biomass burners will never get fuel😢
