Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference: 0:00 - Introduction 1. 0:38 The NT has a lot of examples of demons being very active, and Jesus & the Apostles had to cast many demons out of people - there was a lot of activity and possession. But in the OT, demonic activity and possession is not talked about at all (or very, very rarely). I was wondering what happened to cause the change and huge increase…or why we rarely read about it in the OT but there are so many examples in the NT. 2. 9:32 How can Jesus be fully God and fully man if He died? How can God die? I can understand Him putting aside some of His divinity in order to die, but don’t we believe that He is both fully God and fully man? How can He be FULLY God at the crucifixion? 3. 13:44 Some pastors I respect live in in huge homes in gated communities. Their salaries are higher than about 90% of their church members. Do you find anything wrong with this? 4. 16:42 My sister has decided to make a vision board and was asking me to follow. I did a bit of research and it looks like it has ties with the New Age. Could you explain how Christians should deal with goals & dreams? 5. 20:42 In Matthew and Mark, Jesus calls the first disciples before healing Peter’s mother in law and heals her by touch. In Luke, they're called after, and she’s healed by “rebuking the fever.” Is this significant? 6. 21:38 What's your view of 2 Timothy 2: 20-21 saying people can "cleanse themselves" & using the same “honorable vs. dishonorable” wording as Romans 9? Does this refute the Calvinist view of “Total Depravity”? 7. 27:14 What should we do when confused on doctrine? I’ve seen your videos on Catholicism, but recently had a debate with a Catholic and feel so confused. My faith is shaken, and I don’t know what to believe. 8. 31:09 Any thoughts about the ecumenical movement? If my church is in it, should I get out of that church? In Finland, most churches have papers that you are officially in it. Is that biblical? 9. 34:15 If Jesus doesn't return until the Temple is rebuilt, how is the Temple rebuilt when the ark and its contents are gone? Perhaps I have a big misunderstanding of prophecy or the specs for the Temple. 10. 36:55 What happens to animals/insects when they die? 11. 39:31 Is there anything Christians should fear apart from God? 12. 41:41 Can you please comment on John 8: 30-38? Why was Jesus talking like this to those who believed Him? Would love to hear your insight! 13. 46:49 What does the Bible say about modesty in clothing? Are there certain parts of our body that we cannot show, or is it just a heart issue? If the uniform for a sport is a bikini, should we avoid that sport? 14. 51:18 Could you run through an explanation of the Armor of God in Ephesians? 15. 59:07 Does Psalm 121:6 literally mean that God can protect you from being sunburnt? I want to not wear sunblock but don’t want to ruin my skin if I’m wrong. 16. 1:01:44 Why do people go to Hell? Is it a penalty for sins, or for not believing in Jesus? Some say everyone's sins are forgiven, but that doesn't seem to square with Ephesians 5:5-6 and Colossians 3:5-6. 17. 1:04:44 In one of your past Q&As, you shared your thoughts on “JESUS CALLING.” I was wondering if it’s okay for someone to get quiet and try to hear God and write it down just for themselves. Is that wrong? 18. 1:07:18 You mentioned in an earlier video that you do not believe one goes directly to Hell once dead. Can you elaborate on that? 19. 1:09:29 Given the fact that evolution occurs, is observable, and is supported by a vast body of scientific evidence, earning it the highest degree of scientific support, how do you interpret Genesis 1 & 2? 20. 1:13:00 I have ADHD, and while looking for a Christian perspective on my condition I came across a website that calls mental illness a myth and attributes any abnormality in thinking to the influence of the devil and demonic spirits. It also says ADHD is a "behavioral problem" that happens because parents "refuse or don't know how to discipline their children” and that the "root of all disorders is some type of sin that is being committed" & that medications are used as an excuse for continuing to engage in the sinful behavior. Thoughts?
I was taught that the “fully God fully man” nature of Jesus was because he got his divine nature through the Holy Spirit and his human nature through his mother Mary. Please discuss this a bit more for me. For sure it doesn’t mean 100% this and 100% the other, but the word “fully” indicates the fullness of the natures. Thank you for your attention to this question.
@27:14 Catholics and Orthodox Christians claim that their churches were founded by the Apostles and that makes them more "valid" than Protestants and evangelicals (whom they claim are latecomers to Christianity with no history before the 16th century.
36:55 Animals After Death-- Pastor Mike-- Our entire extended Family are big fans of your Biblical World view teaching --And just as you care about your cat, my wife and I love our furry little ones, as family (almost). - So, after loosing "Bubbles", one of our adorable & incredibly gifted by God kitties, with personality, intelligence, creativity & what seemed to be a sense of humour-- I started researching the topic of animals after death, early on, in my admittedly young-- not quite two years-- of walking with God. As I asked God to guide me in this topic, in Jesus name, so that the Son may bring Glory to the Father-- I immediatly was led to Isaiah 11 and 65 that mention the Wolf laying with the Lamb, the Lion and the Ox feeding together (Isaiah 65:25), and the cow and the bear and their young Together-- and the leopard with the goat and the calf with the lion (Isaiah 11:6-9)-- oh yeah, and the child safely playing with a snake (Asp?). All part of the new Heaven and New Earth. I believe these are more than just metaphors for the ever Lasting PEACE, that is to come when the old order is done away with by Our Sovereign God. It doesn't seem unreasonable to think of animals as having souls, based on these two passages about what is to come after Judgement Day --when our LORD who was slain will be Truly Exalted by All who have overcome-- through His Power, Grace & Mercy alone --as His Bride-- Does this perhaps open up the subject of animals having souls and being with us to enjoy worshipping our Great Triune God for Eternity-- just a bit more to you ? - Love, because He first Loved us, (1 John 4:19), GrandPappy pHLeGm of Franklin Clan Collective Worship Music 🎵🎶 Team 🙌🙏
Colossians 2:9 "For in Him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily,..." To me, that points to the fact that 100% of what makes up God dwells in the form of 100% of what makes up a human (man's) body. So therefore, 100% of God dwells in 100% Man. I think that's where people get that.
@Robert John Bagsic Right!! I used to say Fully God fully man without understanding it, and I just assumed that it’s just going to remain a mystery... hahah but I’m so grateful for this channel, Mike really unpacked this!!
Trinity is always a tangled mess for the logically minded. It's like trying to explain time traveling and killing your grandpa... ...To me, the microscope view of the theology of the trinity is functionally useless. It's just important to know that Jesus was a physical man, yet now all authority in heaven and earth has been given to him...he's God.
My question didn't get asked in this stream- but you answered it with your last note of encouragement to "keep your eyes on Jesus Christ, above all else focus on your relationship with Jesus and the Lord, focus on your walk with Him and being pure and right, that's the first peg that has to be right in your life is to be abiding in Christ...and then from the outgrowth of that work on the other issues you've got going on." As a brand new Christian this was just the advice I needed to hear. So thank you!
I hear and read lots of wonderful, dramatic testimonies to salvation but even in gospel preaching there's not a lot of emphasis placed on the practical steps one should take right after salvation. I grew up in a Pentecostal church where if you went to a leader or pastor for guidance they would immediately go to laying on hands & praying. Not once was I referred to scripture. Too few churches are preaching real, practical, daily, discipleship and what that looks like. They look for the experiential and the mystical. I wish I had known years ago how important my bible was. "Seek ye first..." - one of the most crucial verses in the bible imo. If we just did what it says, we'd save ourselves a lot of trouble.
@@AfterTheRain_Beth I understand! I was a Mormon a little less than a month ago!!! When a Mormon is “struggling” we are told to read the Book of Mormon and pray. I was never told to look to the Bible for guidance. Lucky for me Coronavirus left me without the daily grind of Mormon influence and I found my relationship with God was lacking. After lots of soul searching I decided I just needed to read the Bible with fresh eyes and a clean slate. It was only a couple of days until I came to believe in the Trinity. Pastor Mike’s video on defending the Trinity was super helpful, but ultimately it was God’s word that brought me out of Mormonism. His grace (not my works) that saved me. But undoing years of falsehoods is so difficult. It’s really difficult to trust now and I sometimes feel burdened with how deep the deception runs and how I’m ever going to unravel it (hint: I won’t but Jesus will). My question I asked that didn’t specifically get asked on air was “how do I trust this process and avoid deception again?” Pastor Mike’s encouragement at the end was just exactly the answer I needed. It’s so hard not to default back to trying to save myself from those burdens (the fear and the anxiety). But I think keeping my eyes to Christ, allowing the Spirit to minister to me through God’s word, and just finding rest in the love of Christ is the way forward for me. Feeling blessed by His infinite grace and love today. Lord bless you, Beth.
Thank you for answering my question. I understand that there is no excuse for sinning, and I don’t view ADHD medication as an excuse for sinning. In my case, meeting with a psychologist and taking medicine has helped me with my ability to concentrate. The medication I take helps me to better serve the Lord in my daily life and the church. Medication has given me the ability to teach the next generation about how God works in our lives. This may not the story of every Christian with ADHD, but it’s my story.
If you think to, say a prayer for my cousin. His ADHD is SO INTENSE, it’s actually disabling. It’s hard to even get through a convo with him. It is VERY hard for an adult to get ADHD medication because of the abuse factor, and in his case, this is tragic. He doesn’t have good healthcare and can’t afford the lengthy eval required. He is a legit case of ADHD, and he taught me that this can be SO REAL, that it is a genuine handicap that can hobble someone’s life. He’s been like this since he was a toddler, and now he’s 41. I’m praying his doctor will figure out how to get this approval without his insurance company turning him down, again.
You are SO, SO right about this. You can’t serve the Lord, and you can’t help yourself when the ADHD or ADD is intense. The brain just can’t slow down on its own.
@@doraashby I've been thinking about your question and those who believe that conditions like adhd are demonic. I think God makes us the way he does for a reason. If someone says you have a demon, remember, they said the same thing about John the Baptist and they called Jesus a glutton and a drunkard(not saying to get drunk or be a glutton, just saying that people judge erroneously. If they judged Jesus and John incorrectly, they'll judge us incorrectly, too). If they have an issue with or judge or mock how God made you and me, their issue is ultimately with God, not with us. I had a psychologist tell me that I have what she "affectionately refers to as autism light." Don't worry about the haters. God made us this way, and that is good enough. And he made doctors and medication to help us, as well. I haven't gotten formally diagnosed because of the cost, but if I could afford it, I would definitely take medication to help. It's personally difficult to not get angry at people(like the commenter above who claims you don't understand the Bible), but I'm just going to pray for people like that.
@@mikerutkowski7265 I believe the gospel as presented in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. I came to faith on January 6th 2019, and haven’t looked back since. I agree that diseases are a result of the fall. However, there are some diseases, like ADHD, that are incurable. I suffered a brain injury at birth, because the cord was wrapped around my neck. I was in the NICU for ten days. When I was seven I was diagnosed with ADHD. I have prayed many times for God to heal my ADHD, but it’s not his will. I take medicine and see a psychologist. Moreover, it is impossible to be free of sin and disease while on earth. Christians still get sick, and we still sin. We will no longer sin or get sick once we are in our eternal state. As a Christian with a disability I found your comment very offensive. I don’t feel any less Christian than someone who doesn’t have ADHD.
Mike, your Friday Q&A videos have become such a part of my routine...that I make sure I have nothing to do for an hour or so, when you go live haha I was a lukewarm Christian my whole life until I completely surrendered to Christ back in 2017. I found your videos summer 2020 & I have learned such valuable information & application from you..more than I've learned from anyone else teaching the Word. You explain things in an intellectual, yet, easy way to understand. Thank you for being a vessel for the Kingdom. Bless you brother! Praying for you & your family! Love yaaa!!
My favorite UA-camr, youtube channel and pastor. Even if I am in kenya. Keep up with the good work for Christ and may Jesus bless you. God has blessed you with a gift of teaching with graciousness gentleness. Also your music is so beautiful and glorifying to God. Hope you will continue producing more glorifying worship music to God.
On Q:13 - about modesty and clothing.......Thank you Mike for your answer. I think the most wisdom filled statement you made was about avoiding the beach if you are tempted by the flesh. A good Christian man will understand their weakness with sin and " cut off the hand that causes you to sin" by avoiding situations that lead to temptation. That can be lust and pornography, alcohol, gambling, or whatever, but as someone who has struggled with lust before, I know that if I am going to stand strong against my sinful desire to lust, I must first place my faith in God as well as avoid the situations that make it hard for me to be faithful to God and my wife. I suppose this would be akin to God telling the Israelites not to inquire about the other nations practices, it is simply not wise to do and gives provision to the flesh. Placing yourself in an environment that feeds the flesh is not wise. Women will make their own decisions about modesty, but as men we can make it easier on ourselves if we avoid bikini clad beaches, overt our eyes from provocative music videos and movies and truly avoid the easy mistake of underestimating our sinful desires and ability to reason ourselves into trouble. You know what I mean if you have found yourself watching a provocative movie before and reasoned, "Its just a movie, its not like I am watching porn". The problem is sin is like a rash. The more you scratch the more it feels good, but the more you do it the deeper the wound goes until pretty soon you feel nothing at all. God has given us bodies and desires for the richness of our marriage to one woman, or man in the woman's case, and when we use the gifts God gave us appropriately they will truly be as intended, a blessing, not a curse. If anyone needs encouragement in this area or is struggling with related sins I am open to talk. May my many many mistakes and sins in my life be a blessing to others to keep them from doing the same.
Mike thank you so much for sharing your memory issues. I literally am the same way and I when I try to talk with someone about the Bible I feel so stupid because I know I know but I just can’t recall it at that moment. It’s very frustrating at times but you’ve reminded me I just have to study harder. Thank you for all of the hard work you put in for all of us. It blesses us more than you could ever know.
Hey brother, I think we should link up sometime. Would be good for my soul. God bless the work you are doing and many blessings to your family. - Phillip Blair
Philip! I love watching your videos. I was really blessed by the one you just put out about the power of worship. I just commented on this video asking a question to mike about salvation security and how that relates to the helmet of salvation. If possible, I’d love to hear your take on that. Maybe you could reply to my comment? If not no worries and I hope you have a great day!
Always appreciate Mikes perspective. Check it against the Bible and Holy Spirit as we should for every single person we learn from. Thank you Father for this teaching, help me learn and grow as I read your word.
@@mikerutkowski7265 by this method and logic does that make you a false prophet on the internet? Anyone can say this, be specific, show me these examples of Mike being a false prophet, debunk him with evidence and scripture to back up your claim otherwise you are a clanging cymbal, Mark 7:20-22 Jesus says based on your approach(envy, slander, arrogance and folly)you are “unclean”. Mike would have no problem hearing from you if you made a case with video evidence of him claiming to be a prophet, the proven false prophecy and a face to face conversation about it rather than an unfounded rant on my comment. I’m all about accountability, that comes from people God puts in my life, people with fruit, people that actually know me, people who love and care about me and people who are logical and people who are effective communicators, you do not fall into any of these so thanks but no thanks. Jesus is King. Holy Spirit lives in me, thank you Father God that my faith is rooted in you!
Forgive me, I can't contain the excitement. 💃💃💃 Mike liked my comment; first of its kind🤗🤗🤗 My respect for you just tripled. Keep being steadfast Mike (and team), God's unending Grace! I can’t possibly state this strongly enough. I thank God for you every single day as I (re-)watch your content. You have been the most life-changing factor in my long life. Thank you so much, Mike. Related to question 17, it's definitely possible to hear specific instruction from the Lord, but Scripture always provides the layer of confirmation I need. And in my case it's not from frantically flipping through looking for a specific answer, but rather just slowly reading through a book at a time. I find that so often I'll be contemplating a decision during a particular moment and the Holy Spirit will give me a Scripture that I've studied recently in the middle of my contemplation. This gives me goosebumps.
Thank you Mike and people who asked questions....Each question that you addressed applies to something I've been grappling. Even specific Scriptures you mentioned. God bless
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind and ‘Love your neighbor as yourself” Luke 10:27💕
Wow... When you talked about how Jesus took on and fulfilled all of the curse we brought upon ourselves...I've been learning about God my entire life and no one has ever put it to me that way...I'm in absolute awe

“Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and heavy hail.” Revelation 11:19
Thanks Pastor Mike. I’m snowed in here in East Texas! Hoping to thaw out soon. You really bless my life with all of your videos so keep them coming! 😀❤️
Oh, God is so good! Thank you, Sarah, for sending my question to Mike and thank you, Mike, for your thoughtful answer! My thoughts were going in the same direction as yours so I'm really thankful to the Lord. Your answer helped, thank you again! Btw. I'm a girl, you refered to me as 'he' but never mind, I'm so glad for your insight. Thank you for every other answer too, especially your analogy in answer N.16 with the pit and ladder helped me too. It's so beautiful that Jesus saved us and connected us to be one body with Him as a head. All glory to God.❤️
My outlook on the behavioral health is the world is sinful and our bodies are a part of this sinful world so, its natural for us to be a part of natural evil like earthquakes, floods, sickness, cancer, etc. I have BPD and my husband is a Narcissist, but through Christ we have gotten much better. Also, God created science too so, being on medication is a blessing
I agree 100%. I figure that God doesn't just heal with hands on miracles, much more often in modern medicine, His healing comes through the medicines, the surgeons hands, the research etc. Its His Will that allows it to fix us or not
Hi Mike, regarding the Genesis question, Answers in Genesis has been putting out amazing evidence and a great deal of information videos to help in this area… like you, I didn’t really know… they explain both sides thoroughly. Love your work, thank you!
A couple of years ago a pastor of a church we went to (for mostly foreign grad students) wanted to preach on the Armor of God. He wanted to show it as authentically as possible (not a cheesy plastic Halloween costume). He searched online but the good stuff was way too expensive. The day before he preached it, he was teaching a seminar. Afterwards he and the custodian were stacking chairs. He felt led to ask the custodian if he knew anyone who had some armor. The man said, "Yes, I just got some. It's still in the box!" So on Sunday, after the singing, we heard clanking. We all looked around and here was the pastor, walking down the aisle, dressed in about 60 pounds of Roman armor that looked straight out of Spartacus! (His teaching was really good too!) But what an answer to prayer!!!
Me too! Church and Christian school raised but have never made that connection!! I am LOVING all the meaty teaching I’m finding on this UA-cam channel!!
I once lived in a halfway house and three people walked in from another state looking for a brother they new before he gave his life to Jesus, and i was a young Christian and the night before they came i was shown Luke 10,19 and told we had authority over spirits or demons and here im talking to these people looking for this brother and I sent them to his place of work , so as they left I said God bless you, and one person , a woman turned around and in a deep voice said and god bless you, and they walked out the door and isaid to the Lord , Lord she didn't sound like she blessed me in you, Then as soon as I said that there was a dozen demons around me laughing at me and I freaked out and I felt insanity and then the Lord spoke to me and said ,look stead fast and rebuke them, they started moving around me in a circle mocking me and I told them I rebuck you in Jesus name be gone , and they came to a stop and shut up, then I thought it didn't work and they started laughing again and going around me in a blur and I started to reason with myself, if your real and I know God is real then you have to do what he says so I rebuked them again and they slowed down to almost a stop and I could see in there eyes that they were questioning weather I believed what I was saying testing me and that made a holy indignation come over me and I said again in the name of Jesus be gone, and they shot out a window so fast that the window boomed almost breaking and just then those three people walked by and jumped away and they gave me a look like they thought I threw something at it , and I felt the peace of God come over me and I wanted as they got in there car and drove away and I told the Lord they had spooks and as they turned the corner the man they were looking for truned the same corner and missed each other, so the man came in and i told him about the three people and he told me the woman was witch and one man was a warlock and the other was a ufo chaser, but we have authority over demons
Hi Mike, good Q&A as always! On the Genesis Q, John Lennox gave a great point of view in one of his debates that have stayed with me. God created the heavens and earth in Gen 1: 1-2. Then after that, God created light and devided the light from darkness bringing forth night and day being the 1st day. There is no time limit necessarily given for the creation of the heavens and earth in Gen 1:1-2. Interesting to think about.
Regarding the passage in John, I believe there’s a group of people and it says that MANY (not all) believed Him. Therefore there then 2 groups of people... those who believed Him and were saved and those who didn’t believe and tried to stone Him.
Hi mike! I have a question for you, maybe you can answer it this Friday :) Q: if it is possible that a born again believer can lose/leave/forfeit salvation, how exactly do we put on the helmet of salvation? How do we confidently put on the helmet of salvation that we are sealed and are His forever if it is possible that we become deceived and no longer be saved? I guess my question is is our salvation completely secure and if not how does that relate to the helmet of salvation?
Hey brother Mike! I love your content, and I have been immensely blessed by the wisdom God is passing through you. I was especially impressed by your series on Proverbs, as I found my passion for studying Gods word ignited during that time. I think it would be silly to argue about these things, but I got a little confused by your explanation on why Jesus wasn't 100% human. Jesus was the only human who is also God. Saying that he was 100% of both only means that one isn't excluding the other, I have a hard time seeing how it's sloppy terminology. Love from Germany.
““Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” -JESUS Matthew 6:25-34
I am always at work when you go live - so dang it. A Canadian here, and just wanna say that I have thoroughly appreciated getting to know your content and sound Biblical teaching. Very impactful and refreshing. So... thank you! Also, what resources are you using (ie Logos or whatever)?
Mike, great video, but in theology we must understand that for Jesus's divinity to atone on the cross, his deity must have participated in his death, that's the whole point of God dying on the cross. I think we must say there is mystery involved.
The vision board is from the book the secret. They say you need to visualize what you want to manifest. Christians use it and say they want to visualize the things they want the Lord to bring them.
My thoughts on 2nd question is ...Jesus's body died. Jesus, as a person(and as God), never died ( just like our bodies will die, but our spirits will face eternity). Jesus gave up his body to the sacrifice of death by punishment (as opposed to death by old age or accident)...and then proved his divinity by resurrecting his own body. Truly man, Truly God - I also like that phrase.
Mike-I think for me the most salient scriptures addressing the idea of animals having souls, or post death destiny are in Psalm 104:27-30 and a companion verse in Job 34:14,15. Psalm 104 is so full of the life of the earth, and God's provision for the creatures and how they wait for provision in due season, how terrified they are when He hides His face then... "You take away their breath, they perish and return to the dust." Then "You send forth Your spirit, they are created..And You renew the face of the ground." Job's verses state if God were of a mind to do so, "if He gathered His spirit and His breath to Himself, that all humanity would perish together and mankind would return to the dust." So I think Psalm 104 might just be stating "the circle of life", and Job re-inforcing our dependence on Him for our very breaths (and consequences of God keeping His spirit and breath to Himself.) But as one who has a great love for animals and anxiously awaits for all things of the animal kingdom to be made right in the new heavens and earth, and especially as one who misses greatly the pet companions I have laid to rest, I hope that this might also refer to a possible restoring of their lives there. Can't say for sure, but hope so... And regarding having enough room for all the insects through time-I betcha there will be! Nothing in the Word says the earth will be the same size! ; ) Appreciating your online ministry-thanks!!!
Minute 42 of video, "know the truth" AND putting your will to the path, "the Truth will set you free. Both "knowing" and "becoming". Hopefully this helps.
Mike, in the John 8 passage there seems to be a distinction between the phrases “many people believed in him “ ( v.30) and those Judeans who “believed him.”. In John 1:12, where it says that “as many as believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God”the word “in” is “eis” , which includes the sense of “into”, indicating a deeper level of personal trust than mere intellectual agreement. I am thinking that “believed him” in v. 31 might refer to a different group of people than those in v. 30: those Jews who at first believed his claim to be the Messiah, but he was warning them what true discipleship really is. It sounds like they began to take offense as to the matter of their “status” as children of Abraham. What do you think? I thank the person who asked this question; it really made me think and dig.
For the animal question 37:19 Ecclesiastes 3:18-21 who can prove that our spirit is raised but animals are not? That’s actually how the scripture implies it. That we are like animals and we can’t assume they just stop existing.
read that whole passage, the assumption of the passage is specifically that "...humans have no advantage over animals. Everything is meaningless. All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return." later on the book says "For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even their name is forgotten. Their love, their hate and their jealousy have long since vanished; never again will they have a part in anything that happens under the sun." (vv. 9:5-6)
When Christ appeared, heaven and earth met, like a spiritual spotlight it showed the heavenly realms that were behind the scenes. I think that's why we see so much demonic activity, because the spiritual veil was pulled back for a time while Christ inhabited the earth.
Hey Mike, you mentioned that you are wanting to do a video on abiogenesis and it will take hundreds of hours of research. I recommend you looking up James Tours UA-cam channel, he is currently, at this very moment, running a series on abiogenesis. He is a very established scientist and he covers this topic with great detail.
Love your answer about Genesis. I find myself leaning towards an old earth position but am not against young earth explanations. I no longer spend much time considering the issue either because I just don't think it matters very much. Those who think it does matter seem to mostly be in the Young Earth crowd and are operating under the assumption that they *must* debunk evolution to prove the Bible is true, and to debunk evolution they *must* prove that the earth is young. I don't think there is sufficient evidence to accept evolution to explain the differentiation of species, but the issue also has virtually no bearing on my faith. Anyway, props to you for giving a prudent answer on the creation story.
The reason the issue is so contentious is that it is a key component in an alternate, godless (Atheistic) creation theory. The miraculous nature of the universe becomes a cosmic game of dice. Humans become mere animals. Morals become subjective. Life becomes meaningless so live as hedonistically as you can. Presuming you have faith in god, which entity would want you to think that? Ah ha. That is why YEC feel it must be fought. Once you remove miracles from creation, where does it end? If the very first things people will read in the bible are imaginary nonsense, why should anyone take any of it seriously?
@@joelpierce1453 I don't mean to be rude or harsh, but I think in compromising with popular theories we're putting the "wisdom" of man above that of god. God created Adam and Eve, not a series of apes which eventually became them. Six literal days, the same word for literal days is not questioned elsewhere in the text. OEC seems to me to be trying to fit the bible to human "Wisdom" than respecting the bible as the source of true wisdom.
@@kriegjaeger Right, but I'm not defending evolution. You're making the same error I pointed to in my original comment. You're acting as though you must hold a young earth view to refute darwinism, and that's not the case. The earth does have the appearance of being old, and the bible is not as explicitly young earth as you may have been led to believe. I don't think it is a compromise when the biblical text can be reasonably interpreted to fit with an old earth cosmologicial time frame. If you had to really stretch the text to make an old earth view fit, I would agree with you, but I don't think there is a lot of stretching going on.
@@joelpierce1453 I think we're talking past each other here. My point was the reason YEC feel it matters so much, not accusing you of anything. I don't see your position as unreasonable either. Only stating my view and those of YEC like AiG who state any kind of compromise weakens the foundation of the faith. The first thing people open the bible to is Genesis. If we're told that contemporary theory is where you should look for the age of the world, then the bible is no longer the authority, but contemporary theory is. Why are we trying to fit contemporary theories into the bible at all? Give that consideration, please try to understand I don't want to see someone stray from the word of god by presuming we know better.
Q 20: concerning ADHD- I believe I have some form of ADHD. I wasn't diagnosed as a child but as an adult found focusing difficult and found that medication has helped some in relation to symptoms but here is what I would say. 1. ADHD and other illnesses of the mind can be caused by MANY factors. I believe my ADHD is a result of TV and Games causing my short attention span as well as my "hands on" approach to learning not meshing well with the ability to sit long enough to study or do other focused activities. The medication I take helps me focus for a period of time, but if you have poor task management skills without meds, you may have them on meds as well. That why someone on Adderall might expect to be crushing all kinds of work while medicated and find themselves playing hours of video games or labeling their spice rack instead of working. The use of medication has to couple a behavioral assessment and adjustment. 2. Mental illness and things of that nature seem to be a result of the Fall. The ground is cursed and with that come many things we have to struggle through. Depression is something I personally saw my spouse struggle with for many years and medication is the only thing that caused a significant change. This was something I felt completely different about before I met her. Sometimes our brains- whether through environment, habits, sin, hormones, or whatever reason- just don't operate the way they should. If our mental condition is due to some unrepented sin or demonic nature, then the answer would be prayer and taking a status check of the walk we have with Christ. I believe God can sometimes use these things to bring us closer to him, allow us to trust in him more, or make the victories over these things all the more sweet. Some things we can't change but we can always change our perspective on them. 3. I encourage anyone going through mental illness to seek God first and find encouragement through his Word. If the study of the Bible and Prayer help but you find yourself still struggling to function, talk to a health professional. I believe God made medicine for good and it can be used for that. It just has to be understood that medicine isn't a cure all for life's problems. Christ is the only hope we have and anything built on any other foundation but him will eventually topple over. Trust in his promises and meditate on his Word and you will find yourself walking through the trials with hope and assurance.
Thank you for response. I’ve had ADHD since I was 7. I began taking medicine again when I began college. Studies show that the brains of people with ADHD process neurotransmitters differently. This leads to a difference in how neural pathways are formed. I don’t know the precise cause of my ADHD, however, I suffered a brain injury at birth. This could be the cause of my ADHD, but I’m interested in better understanding what caused my ADHD. I agree that any kind of illness is related to the fall. However, prayer doesn’t always lead to healing. A prime example of this is Pauls’s thorn in the flesh: ““Even if I should choose to boast, I would not be a fool, because I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain, so no one will think more of me than is warranted by what I do or say, or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:6-10, NIV). I don’t believe my ADHD is due to unrepentant sin. I have seeked out God’s help with my ADHD, and I decided to continue with my current treatment plan. Similar to your wife, my illness has only been helped through medication. My treatment has allowed me to better serve God and his church. My foundation is still built on Christ, and I look to him for hope. My faith in Christ has helped me overcome the adversity presented by my illness. I know that when earth is recreated, I won’t have to worry about ADHD anymore because they will be no more illness or pain.
@@doraashby Amen sister, the greatest source of encouragement for me is to know that one day all the things that make this life a struggle will be gone. No more sinful thoughts, no more temptations, no more afflictions. More importantly though the Lord will be our light. Dwelling in the presence of God will be the pinnacle. Until then I am happy to find encouragement with my brothers and sisters in Christ and share the gospel. Hang in there and when it gets tough remember that the one who spoke the world into existence will sustain you with his righteous hand. Praise be to God for that.
Genesis reads like history to me. The rest of the Bible treats it as history. Jesus and Paul treat Adam as a literal human being who literally did the things Genesis describes. That doesn't mean everything in the book is literal, but the events it describes are historical.
The vision board IS NEW AGE. If you want a Mercedes, put it on the board and materialize or visualize it into existence. Similar to the speak out into existence type theology. It’s running your own life basically speaking, as opposed to living our lives for God.
But Mike have you tried Japanese udon or yakisoba? So much better than pho. I may be biased though. If I ever come visit, I'll take you and your wife out for some! (Or if there's no time, I'll give you money to do so! 😂) Thanks again for answering my questions! I have been reading "A Gospel Primer" by Milton Vincent and he says that the Armor of God was just the gospel over and over. But I leaned towards your idea of the breastplate of righteousness and wanted to hear your thoughts. The belt of truth being told as our own genuiness is a first though. I was always taught it was the truth of the Word. But maybe that's obvious. 😂 But your idea fits well with David's psalms! A quick question if you get to it... In "A Gospel Primer" Milton says that when we sin, God is not angry, but even before a confession is on our mouth He is waiting for us lovingly to come back to Him and has "forgiveness in His heart already." This would be huge. But I guess it doesn't sit well with me because of the various warning passages in scripture as well as the accounts of David and Solomon. What's the balance of God's love and forgiveness towards us and of His wrath towards our sin even as believers? Thanks again, Mike, for all your hard work in the Lord. You have been a tremendous help to me and I always make mention of you and your wife in my prayers.
18:05 I live in Vietnam but I'm so used to hearing the American pronunciation(cause i don't speak Vietnamese) that I forgot it was pronounced "fuh" and had no idea what you were talking about for a second there lol. Btw, yes, "Fuh" is the correct pronunciation of pho
The flesh is what died. It was the sacrifice. A perfect sinless flesh only because of the deity of God within the flesh of Jesus. That’s how I view it. His flesh represented what we couldn’t be with our own. His spirit could never die and is completely in control. Jesus is the life and so He was resurrected.
Eccesiastes 3:16-22 Talks about the suol of an animal but I dont see how that shows that the animal's soul dissapears. I'd have to look farther into it
Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference:
0:00 - Introduction
1. 0:38 The NT has a lot of examples of demons being very active, and Jesus & the Apostles had to cast many demons out of people - there was a lot of activity and possession.
Thoughts?
Oh yeah, for #11: Proverbs 27:12
39:31) Proverbs 9:10 Isaiah 66:2 🛡
I was taught that the “fully God fully man” nature of Jesus was because he got his divine nature through the Holy Spirit and his human nature through his mother Mary. Please discuss this a bit more for me. For sure it doesn’t mean 100% this and 100% the other, but the word “fully” indicates the fullness of the natures. Thank you for your attention to this question.
@27:14 Catholics and Orthodox Christians claim that their churches were founded by the Apostles and that makes them more "valid" than Protestants and evangelicals (whom they claim are latecomers to Christianity with no history before the 16th century.
36:55 Animals After Death--
Pastor Mike-- Our entire extended Family are big fans of your Biblical World view teaching --And just as you care about your cat, my wife and I love our furry little ones, as family (almost).
It doesn't seem unreasonable to think of animals as having souls, based on these two passages about what is to come after Judgement Day --when our LORD who was slain will be Truly Exalted by All who have overcome-- through His Power, Grace & Mercy alone --as His Bride--
Does this perhaps open up the subject of animals having souls and being with us to enjoy worshipping our Great Triune God for Eternity-- just a bit more to you ?

I like the new term “Jesus is truly God, truly man”
If it's 2000 years old is it really new? ;)
@@jordazmo19 new for me. I commonly use the term "fully God, fully man"
Colossians 2:9 "For in Him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily,..."
To me, that points to the fact that 100% of what makes up God dwells in the form of 100% of what makes up a human (man's) body.

God bless you. My adult son takes medicine for ADD and it has helped him tremendously paying attention at work.
I had a psychologist tell me that I have what she "affectionately refers to as autism light."
Don't worry about the haters.

I believe the gospel as presented in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

Your answer on pastor's salaries is one of the best I have ever heard.
Brother Mike your ministry is a blessing to the body of Christ, thank you brother and keep up the good work.

Yes! Saturday lunch time coffee with this Q and A in Aotearoa New Zealand. Praise the Lord for Bible Thinker 🙏🔥
Greetings from America!!!! Being a huge LOTR fan, I could only dream of visiting New Zealand, where most of the movies scenes were filmed on location!!!
@@bobmanns3623 Hopefully one day you'll get here. Fan of LOTR as well so I understand the interest!
I love these videos so much!! It’s so interesting to hear the questions people have, I’m just soaking it up. Thank you Mike!
Also I really love the way you explained the pit analogy. Totally gonna use that!!
“Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and heavy hail.”
Revelation 11:19
Great job Mike
You’re the only UA-cam channel I have on for all notifications. Hoping to catch you this Friday!
Thanks Pastor Mike. I’m snowed in here in East Texas! Hoping to thaw out soon. You really bless my life with all of your videos so keep them coming! 😀❤️
You are so right in doubt being related to sin most of the times. Big brain moment. Thank you! 🙋🏽♀️
Yay! This episode answered a lot of my personal questions! 👏🏼👏🏼 glad they asked because I’m always LATE!
Great teaching pastor, covering so much in such little time, learning from your teacheing ,thanks a lot.
Edifying as usual! Looking forward to your next video.
Always love these! Thank you for taking time to answer some tough questions.
Its His Will that allows it to fix us or not
Thank you for doing these. They are my favorite!
You did such a fine job covering this delicate topic.
I love the insect question. I’m pretty sure I asked God in a prayer once to please NOT have spiders or flies in the new earth 😂😂
Please, just No. 😂

Hi Mike, regarding the Genesis question, Answers in Genesis has been putting out amazing evidence and a great deal of information videos to help in this area… like you, I didn’t really know… they explain both sides thoroughly.
Love your work, thank you!
Q&A is the best.
Thank you for the session. These sessions are my weekend study. Blessed Sunday.
Never heard crown of thorns representing curse of ground before
Me too! Church and Christian school raised but have never made that connection!! I am LOVING all the meaty teaching I’m finding on this UA-cam channel!!
Me neither! I love these little nuggets.
I love liturgy, too. A good, SOLID (and this takes some searching) Lutheran church might be a great option.
Jesus not only had power but authority
Wow! #16 1:01:44 - that explanation was amazing! Thank you so much for that answer, the rest of this video, and all your videos!!
Hello pastor. Thank you.
Wealth is an interesting term when referencing the blessing of God. OT very much earthly visible & seen, while NT our wealth is in heaven
Interesting insight
Algorithm boost applied!
Yes, yes.... Boosted!
Regarding the passage in John, I believe there’s a group of people and it says that MANY (not all) believed Him. Therefore there then 2 groups of people... those who believed Him and were saved and those who didn’t believe and tried to stone Him.
Thank You! : )

Hi mike! I have a question for you, maybe you can answer it this Friday :)
Q: if it is possible that a born again believer can lose/leave/forfeit salvation, how exactly do we put on the helmet of salvation?
Hey Mike! can you debate Rabbi Tovia Singer?
Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” -JESUS
Matthew 6:25-34

Also, what resources are you using (ie Logos or whatever)?

Mike, great video, but in theology we must understand that for Jesus's divinity to atone on the cross, his deity must have participated in his death, that's the whole point of God dying on the cross. I think we must say there is mystery involved.
Thanks for these!
The vision board is from the book the secret. They say you need to visualize what you want to manifest. Christians use it and say they want to visualize the things they want the Lord to bring them.
I have been sharing your 20 questions to anyone that will listen
Thank you.
Truly man, Truly God - I also like that phrase.
thank you
Mike-I think for me the most salient scriptures addressing the idea of animals having souls, or post death destiny are in Psalm 104:27-30 and a companion verse in Job 34:14,15. Psalm 104 is so full of the life of the earth, and God's provision for the creatures and how they wait for provision in due season, how terrified they are when He hides His face then... "You take away their breath, they perish and return to the dust." Then "You send forth Your spirit, they are created..And You renew the face of the ground."
Job's verses state if God were of a mind to do so, "if He gathered His spirit and His breath to Himself, that all humanity would perish together and mankind would return to the dust."
So I think Psalm 104 might just be stating "the circle of life", and Job re-inforcing our dependence on Him for our very breaths (and consequences of God keeping His spirit and breath to Himself.) But as one who has a great love for animals and anxiously awaits for all things of the animal kingdom to be made right in the new heavens and earth, and especially as one who misses greatly the pet companions I have laid to rest, I hope that this might also refer to a possible restoring of their lives there. Can't say for sure, but hope so...
And regarding having enough room for all the insects through time-I betcha there will be! Nothing in the Word says the earth will be the same size! ; )
Appreciating your online ministry-thanks!!!
Yeah, I think there are two groups of people in the crowd: those who believed and were saved and those who didn’t. It says many (not all) believed.
Fantastic
Hey Mike, you mentioned that you are wanting to do a video on abiogenesis and it will take hundreds of hours of research. I recommend you looking up James Tours UA-cam channel, he is currently, at this very moment, running a series on abiogenesis. He is a very established scientist and he covers this topic with great detail.
Maybe you found it already: Proverbs 22:3
The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.
Re: The armor of God--Prayer could be seen as submission to our commander. Armor doesn't make one a soldier--submission to God's mission does.❤️
Love your answer about Genesis.
@@kriegjaeger The OEC position isn't that the first chapters of Genesis are imaginary nonsense. I don't understand why you would make that assessment.
@@joelpierce1453
I don't mean to be rude or harsh, but I think in compromising with popular theories we're putting the "wisdom" of man above that of god.
@@joelpierce1453
I think we're talking past each other here.
You need to do a show on the crazy funny questions you get. It's like some of those Amazon reviews.
Thank you so much for q's #1 and #14
Q 20: concerning ADHD- I believe I have some form of ADHD.
A prime example of this is Pauls’s thorn in the flesh:
““Even if I should choose to boast, I would not be a fool, because I would be speaking the truth.
Appreciate your balanced view and humility....and the Guild (2512?) on your wall :)
#15: SPF Psalm I believe it's referring to having a roof over your head. Being protected with a dwelling.
Thanks again for answering my questions!
