I have a variable speed Dremel tool kit for decades now. I can't even remember where I got it from. But it is one of those tools that when you need one, nothing else will work. Nice fix of the open winding on the field windings. I think that tool will be with you for many many years to come now. Thumbs Up!
I've never seen a dremel in that bad of shape. It looks like they gave it to a kid to play with in the sand box and got left out in the weather for a couple of years! When I fixed my stator I just unlooped enough wire to reach back to the connector instead of lengthening it. That was 20 years ago and still works fine.
I love watching your videos and thanks to them I get an idea of how to start repairing my broken machines. I would like to know a little more about the tools you use to restore the parts because I don't know the functions of everything.
Excelent restoring video 😊. That 3000 was a total failure from Dremel. There are many, many videos about how to repair it due to that broken little wire. Anyway, it's an easily repairing issue and the tool can work for many more years, till the wire got separated again 😞.
Thanks, bro! This video inspired me to get off my ass, order the part & _FIX_ my 3000! I figured if it was possible to fix one that was jacked to the level _This_ one was, then i had No Excuse not to fix mine!! The surgery went exTremely well and i now have two Dremel 3000s. ...next up: repairing the bearings on my Dremel 398(digital). Edit, 2hrs later..: hoooooooooly *bleeeeeeeeeep!* _I Did It!!! My beautiful 398 is BACK!!!! Thanks AGAIN!!!!!_ (to the rest of you reading this: you can Do It!! What do you have to lose?!? .. it's ALREADY broken. Try fixin' it!!!) Yeeeehaw! I gots me some Dremelin' ta do!!!)
You should do a video on how to replace the rechargable battery on the Dremel Stylus (the one that looks like a Star Trek Phasor). They discontinued it years ago. They offer NO replacement battery and it is the most comfortable Dremel ever made. Mine holds a charge for a little while. Nothing else comes close to the comfort and control of that model.
My wire was broken at exactly the same spot as yours. But I found an easier way to fix it, without soldering: The wire windings in the stator aren't very thight: So I just took off 2 windings and put them back as close as possible to the innerside to free some extra 6 or 7 mm in length. This extra length was enough to reintroduce the original wire in the plastic socket and force the metal connector down over the wire to make connection again.
This is typical point of failure in these units. I fixed my dad's Dremel a few times this way. It has over 20 years and still works. New stator costs like 15$. Someone threw out perfectly good tool...
It’s amazing how one tiny wire breaking makes the whole unit useless. But the question is, why did the wire break? A very good repair and restoration. I’ll send you mine and maybe you can fix that too😂😂😂. Cheers Stuart 🇦🇺
Hey, thanks for the video. It would be even better if you could add a little descriptive tex box saying what you are doing and materials/tools you are using. Tks!
I had to do a job for a car battery manufacturer , while I was waiting for their boss to turn up I got a tour of there alternator and starter motor reconditioning department , watched a lad strip alternator quick file across rotor in lathe , whacked in parts cleaner then new bushes and finished , thought that it lol .
I had the same model Dremel and it had the exact same issue (broken wire in the motor). I fixed it, but it broke again in the same way (different wire). Must be a design fault or maybe it's intentionally designed to fail so people will just toss it out and buy a new one?
8:06-8:23 what was that you did with the collet? Heat it and drop it in smthg? It didn't quite look like oil is why I ask, just curious. Thanks for posting! Such attention to detail! I loved it:)

Something about using a Dremel to repair a Dremel is satisfying to me
A truly versatile tool
Thank you for not throwing the tool in the mud, washing it and then calling it a restoration. Those who really work can see the difference.
omg, a "restoration" channel that ACTUALLY Repairs and Restores items instead of just giving them a paint job??? SUBBED!!!
Nothing like a Dremel fixing a Dremel. Probably worth the time those darn things are expensive
Its Makita.
Die sind ihr Geld aber auch Wert.
It's worth it though. Dremels are great.

Agreed, they are expensive. I also was going to point out that he used a Dremel to fix a Dremel lol

Exelente restauracion 👏👏👍🙋♂️🇵🇦saludos
Nice job on the stator and rotor. And that rework.
I have one of these and want to know what's inside it, but didn't want to accidentally break it by opening it. Thanks for the video.
A great restoration! Whoever had that before was very rough with it. Great Job!
Great restoration. My Dremel works but smell bad soon...I'm gonna try to fix ...

Hello it was a nice restoration 👍😷🇺🇸

Fantastic 👏great job 👍
An absolute crime! How can they toss such a precious tool away like that???? Thank you very much for what you did.

It was the speed dial that crapped out on mine. Ever had that happen?
What a great video. Thanks.
Great job well done.
Good, very good. CESAR from Brasil.

A very good repair and restoration. I’ll send you mine and maybe you can fix that too😂😂😂.

Great job! I have a Dremel over 30 years old and it works perfectly!
Hey, thanks for the video.
It would be even better if you could add a little descriptive tex box saying what you are doing and materials/tools you are using. Tks!
What did you use to pry off the bearing seal?
What weight of grease or oil did you use to repack the bearings?
Nice trick.
Ok, UA-cam!! I'll watch it!! Good video at least. Great restore.
Sehr sauber gearbeitet 👍🏻
I have one dremel. Congratulations 👏
That's cute, I never thought a motor would have insulation-displacement terminals like that.
Beautifull!!! Nice work.....
Good job 👍
Nice job.
It's a highly addictive video.
Excelent job
Good job buddy
Excelente canal. Me suscribo 👍
i like restoration videos so i subscribe

Excelent work bro 😮❤
Nice job!
Thank you my friend. 👍👏🥇
Holy shit I've had one of these for years I found in the trash just pulled it out of my closet the other day might try to fix mine now lol
*DO IT!!* ...so worth it!!
If there will ever be a zombie apocalypse this guy will definitely survive...
Donde encuentras las herramientas que reparas?
Very nice bro

This is great. I have a dremel 3000
Excellent!
Muy bien 👍 amigo
Very nice!!!
What did you add to the water for the scrubbing? Was it just soap? Was it salt?
brilliant i noticed your speed contoller switch clicked mine dont did you replace the power cord too
Ótimo trabalho, seguiu todas as etapas importantes no processo de manutenção. 😊
Congratulations
Sweet 👍🏻 👍🏻
WhoWW Great job!!!!!
Lindo trabalho parabéns.
Would you tell me what was on the Q-tip that you put on the wire?
Insulation/anti-flash varnish, I guess
Seemed like it's opened before with that fingerprint on the inside of the sticker :)
yep most of these videos are scam... they use rusting agent to look stuff more ancient, put som dust on it .. :D
Good joob 🌹👍
what kind of grease/lube did you use for the 608 bearing?
I had the same model Dremel and it had the exact same issue (broken wire in the motor). I fixed it, but it broke again in the same way (different wire). Must be a design fault or maybe it's intentionally designed to fail so people will just toss it out and buy a new one?
Yeah, I've gone to the Milwaukee battery one. Hopefully it works out better.
Great thanks
Dremelin sadece dış kısmı kirlenmiş:)))

Is that a PWM circuitry controlling the speed?
