Whats your infatuation with the focus? The 2009-2011 gen is cheap, plasticy, tin canish, and sketch feeling at higher speeds, I drove one for a couple years and now I have a 1st gen mazda 3, feels more well built, the weight when you corner isn't all on the front tires like the focus, the Mazda feels more well balanced, why not 2.5 swap the 3?
Yeah the main issue with them is that they don't have a rear swaybar from the factory. Doing one gets rid of most of the issues. Also the rear springs are way too soft, it makes them get really bad roll and isn't fun too drive. Coilovers and a sway bar makes the car. Then I put in 225mm tires for grip and now its a blast. Being That its still a tin can Also has its benefits. A stock Full interior 08-11 focus Weighs out too 2588lbs. Thats before gutting, bucket seats, and alloy wheels. So hopefully you enjoy the content and undersrand why I stuck with the car after so long and built it. I am Currently in the market for an unmolested Black or White Mazda 3 though. I enjoy them way more Than the 08-11 focus for sure.
Okay so you need these. 2.0/2.3/2.5 timing kit 2011 ford fusion 2.5 motor. Swap a 2 bolt 2011 ford fusion 2.3 timing cover. Put in your 2.0 intake cam. Make sure the you grab the crank gear with the same amount of teeth that reaches the sensor. From the 2.5 or 2.3 or 2.0 (all models vary. Grab some black silicone rtv. Assemble and fill with fluids. Reuse the old intake and exhaust and plug everything in. It'll adjust naturally if the battery was unplugged too reset the computet before startup. You'll gain 40hp and 50tq from displacement before the smaller intske is accounted for. (Everything from the 2.5 except the.. crank pulley (potentially), timing cover (2.3), And your 2.0 intake cam will be used.
Probs cause the 2.5t is a higher performance engine the the focus mk2 xr5 (idk what its called in other countries) came with, it comes factory turbocharged, i can only think of mazdas with the 2.t turbo, but i might have forgotten something
@@1991june thats so weird, i always see people praising the ford 2.0 and 2.3s for their reliability but bash on the mazdas with basically the exact same engine
Hey man, what tuning software/hardware are you using I'm trying to tune my stock 2011 se with a 2.0 durratech. I've been searching around to try and figure out what people are using but I'm not having much luck.
you have a niche vehicle so thats a plus to grow faster.. because if you had a miata for example... its so saturated... that every other youtuber will probably come up first. i would recommend changing the channel name though because eventually you will want a different project for the channel and the name will be kind of idk.. you get the point.
Just subbed so I’m going from 2.3 to 2.5 everything is done I went to put the belt on and with the 2.5 my belt rubs the timing chain cover on the bottom side of the motor mount I can grind it down but it’s only a problem because my 2.5 came with electric ps as where my 2.3 didn’t simple fix just a small problem people should be aware of when swapping
Do you by chance have a parts list for your 2.3 parts. Also my swap will be for a dirt track car with an automatic. Is pulling the transmission with the motor required?
Look for 2008-2018 ford fusions. You need the 2.3s Timing Cover, Crank Pulley, and Serpentine belt. Then the whole 2.5 motor. You'll want the trans out in order too swap it Onto the motor anyways. However the motors can be pulled with the tranny in the car. That's currently how mine is sitting right now actually.
@@thefordfucus9703never mind! You said any duratec trans will bolt to any duratec motor..is the 2.0 ecoboost considered to be labeled a duratec? The bolt pattern looks the same but I think I’m going to send it and buy a 2.5 and see if it works. I’m putting a non DI, sidewinder manifold, standalone ECU, in a 2018 Focus ST.
Hello friend! How are you? Congrats for the videos. Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷 If you don't mind ask, I would like to know if it is possible to swap the ib5 gearbox (from a ford focus 1.6 sigma 2012) for mtx75 gearbox (from a ford focus 2.0 duratec 2009), both are the same platform. Is It possible, like plug n play or does it need complex adjustment? Hope you can give some hint, and congrats for your work
If they do bolt together, I'm sure you would have too use the entire shifter assembly. And Repin the Speed sensor. I'm unsure if the axles will match up so you would have too try too look into the dimensions for both sets of axles.
I will try to swap the 2.5 into a Volvo C30 which comes with a duratec 2.0 OEM... Let's see how it goes

Where’s the part 2? I’m about to do the same swap so it would be very helpful along with tunning info
i had too have the engine rebuilt, stay tuned!
Hey my 2.0l dohc just blew would like more info on build if you don't mind, especially since I got to pull engine I figured might as well go bigger

Can the 6F35 transmission go into a 2.0L 08-11 Focus with this swap? Any adjustment to the axles needed?
Amazing work. Why did you pick the 2.5 engine over the 2.3?

I used to have a mazda 3 2.3 manual. Car was fun cool little engine but the engine is delicate and burns alot of oil
@@1991june thats so weird, i always see people praising the ford 2.0 and 2.3s for their reliability but bash on the mazdas with basically the exact same engine
2.5s are more displacement and direct injected and cost like 300 bucks in the US

Sct advantage III Pro racer. I tune these cars if you buy an SCTX4
Look up Andychillz Torbet on facebook
Why take off vvt
My Pcm doesnt support vvt

I wonder if you used the wrong belt routing or power steering pump routing
it worked out?
Yes it was awesome! Im Building the motor as we speak and I've released some new content you can watch now! Thanks.

Awesome dude . What transmission did you use .
MTX75
Hey friend, will the Mk3 focus ST trans bolt to the duratec motor? Like the old style?
Any duratec trans will bolt onto the same style block!
I’m going to message you, I don’t want anyone seeing the ideas!

What trans did you end up using in the build?
It would be a mtx-75 if it's a manual
