When people say "Nas won the battle but Jay won the war", what was the war? Nas won the battle definitively but was the war to see who was the best businessman? Because to this day if you're talking about the respect of their peers with regards to their craft Nas still gets higher praise than Jay. Jay has more hits but Nas has more respect. I suppose it depends on what you're after ultimately.
My man Nas is still making great albums and jay hasn’t made a great album since American Gangster. If Nas supposedly lost the war, well over the last 6 albums he is winning. I didn’t have to die before people called me the great one, it didn’t take a couple of albums people said it from day one- Nas My 1st album had no famous guest appearances, the outcome i’m crowd the best lyricist- nas
These 2 helped each other period. Both of them won. Jay Z made it in what is important to him which is business. Nas is a poet and lyricist and he clearly won in music especially with his 6 peat with Hit Boy. The competition is not who's doing well in business or who's bamk account is larger. Thats the most childish mentality. Coz theres always someone richer. Jay is not in the top 100 of wealthiest americans. In music, hip hop culture is where the competition lies. Both won in that arena as they are the 2 goats
Is it true that Jay was the "first black billionaire in hip hop" as you claim? Pretty sure Dre got that title when he made the Beats deal. Lmk if I'm wrong.

They are just ok albums, definitely not classics.
@@chineduonyeoziri7408 KD 1, 2 & 3 are more than just Okay! But hey I guess I missed that 4444 Was
@flo2434, ok, they are "more than just ok" albums, but they are not CLASSICS.🤷
You and Me Both🖐🏽
I really like the lessons brought in this video, especially with a hiphop video
the "lessons" aren't completely rooted in the facts of the events. don't take your lessons from culture vultures
Jay had no choice but to back down after ether 😂😂😂😂
13:50 👌👌👌
15:30 💯🎯
16:12 🔥🔥🔥
Shoot through Memphis with Money Bags? He really is Nastrudamus 😂😂
you forgot on the bridge 2000 nas got on beek again
11:15 I think you missed an edit there. Not that I care personally, but I noticed you censored it every other time.
Delusional
My man Nas is still making great albums and jay hasn’t made a great album since American Gangster. If Nas supposedly lost the war, well over the last 6 albums he is winning.
I didn’t have to die before people called me the great one, it didn’t take a couple of albums people said it from day one- Nas
My 1st album had no famous guest appearances, the outcome i’m crowd the best lyricist- nas
Nas the goat
Inaccurate....Jay Z doesn't own fef jam....nas had 6 albums in 3 yrs.....Nas is levels above
So when exactly is the counter offensive coming?
nah little bro, he got ethered and knew his place.
Ether is one of the best diss tracks ever 💯
Nas won a major battle with Ether, but lost the war when he signed to Jay under def jam in 06. 50 Cent hates Jay and is a queens native himself even said Jay won the war.
Wrong I keep telling y'all Jay didn't sign NaS he partnerd with him and Jay said this himself when they did the sway interview go look it up if you don't believe me
And FYI NaS won the battle and the war in the end y'all will see bet that 💯
What war did he win when he was never on top as a rapper. Jay z in no point in Time was the number 1 guy
@@treyharris8408 the war ended when Nas signed to Jay Z. That move lost Nas the war. And Nas literally signed to Def Jam. It wasn’t a partnership. Jay just said that to be political. Fact of the matter is Nas did not become a partner with def jam. he just signed to the label. he gained no equity with the company. He just signed a deal like the other artists on the label did.
@@givemesometime8405 stop parroting stuff you hear online. 2001 jay was the top rapper.
NAS WAS JUST BETTER IN EVERY WAY , BUT NICE TRY 😂
Cap…. No go away
Easily
Not every way
Hahahahh you’re drunk, hand over the keys mate
Fck No
You missed about 30 subliminals
Internet gonna get mad with this video. A lot of people hate Jay because he's successful and they're not and love Nas because he represents to them "real hip hop" 😅
Well yeah because Nas IS a better lyricist than Jay-Z is .. Clear facts ..
Why the hell would Nas sign to Jay-z??? How short sighted can you be? There's no way he paid him that much more than other labels would be offering. Even if it was 50 percent more, I couldn't give a rival and enemy that much power over my career. It didn't matter if we reconciled
Jay-Z literally hasn’t dropped a hot album in over 20 years (the Black Album).
Jay-Z has a 1 hot album every 20 year average 🤣🤣🤣🤣
He’s not dead, there’s no excuse for him to drop mid to trash albums SINCE the black album.
