Might have to look at my tripod, This might be why it get stuck sometimes. Great idea. Hopefully, I can out it back together. BTW what brand tripod is that?
+Andres V1llegas Yeah, its worth while if you go in sandy places or if your tripod is sticking. Dude, I don't know at all haha. Couple months ago I needed an ultra portable tripod for traveling. It's been a nice tripod to have. Hope you're doing well man!
Hey thanks! Everything is going very well! I hope the same for you. I have a great new job and will be moving in the near future, but when I am moved in I plan on doing videos more frequently!
Tripod care Excellent topic! Remember the clean the legs as well, before lubrication, dirt and grease from hands accumulate and really slow you down. Center column especially. The stops are another place dirt collects, and you can see this as you dissemble. The clean sheet and methodical placement of pieces is a really good idea and practice. Don't be afraid, it is a meditation! I have a Gitzos, Manfrottos, and Enduros... and for my threaded leg locks I actually use a lightweight lithium grease that tolerates low temperatures, is water and weather resistant, and allows for smooth gracious movement and will not evaporate as readily. I use Triflow on legs and as a cleaner. Yes, because lithium grease more IS viscous by nature it will bog down if it gets dirty. (you are in a dusty environment on a shoot) so be proactive. If your tripod does not get dirty, you are not shooting enough. ~TEU
I am desperately looking forward to clean my tripod, as I was shooting in the desert, it totally ruined. But, once I dismantle the parts, I dont know where to put them back. Lol.
+Sameir Ali You should try in some way to clean it. Try with condensed air at first and rigorously moving the legs up and down to release sand. If that doesn't help enough, very carefully break it apart and keep it organized... and systematically try to remember the process in reverse

Hey! Yes, all great advice! Maintenance is incredibly important to keep your investments in good shape!
Hi Troy, thank you for your video, it is very helpful. One question about the silicon, it`s the same used on cars dashboards? thanks!
I use silicone lubricant for on my boyfriends monopod.
+Bill Gatess hey whatever gets the job done. It's multipurpose
Silicone lubricant works the best, just saying.
This is unhealthy dangerous and dull. Use a water based lubricant! ...indented for this kind of task!
