- Hours after BJP MP Saumitra Khan’s wife joined TMC, the political separation has spilled over into personal space. Saumitra has now said that he will soon send his wife, Sujata, a divorce notice. Sujata had led BJP’s campaign in 2019 polls after Saumitra was banned from entering his constituency. But after joining TMC, Sujata complained that BJP was giving more importance to people jumping ships.

Its was between Kolkata corporation former mayor shovan chatterjee who with his girlfriend baishakhi shifted from tmc to bjp and on the other side there was his wife and children who are in tmc. Let me get this straight.
Soumitra Kha was in TMC and switched to BJP before 2019 elections. Won Bishnupur seat in 2019. Now, his wife Sujata Mondol switched to TMC and is blaming BJP for giving attention to those who switch parties, which exactly her husband did and seems like no one noticed it even. I think BJP might have refused to give her ticket since her husband is a sitting MP and to prevent dynast like situation so, now she switched to TMC to get a ticket. So, both husband and wife are just playing games with both BJP and TMC to benefit themselves and what you all think, are Mota Bhai and Didi some fools who doesn't understand this game. They are just watching it silently and using this couple for their own benefits.

Khan and Khaa(with a nasal sound) are same. Earlier Khaa was the pronunciation (like khaa sahab), in english the spelling is anglicized and now it's written as khan.
Khan surname is not always muslim. In fact,it's a Mongol surname (like kubilay khan mongol emperor was a Buddhist), later Afghans and other south asian muslims started using khan surname. But khan has nothing to do with islam BTW. Among bengalis many Hindus have khan surname, especially who belong to merchant and landowner class. you can see buddhist khans in Tibet and Mongolia.

There is another family feud which has influenced politics of WB - the rift between Sovan Chatterjee & his estranged wife Ratna. A few years ago, Sovan filed for divorce from his wife Baisakhi on the grounds that he suspects Ratna of trying to murder & loot him while he was cosying up with a Baisakhi Banerjee, a beautiful married college professor who was also in TMC at that time but half of Sovan's age. Yet it was Ratna who a defamation case when the BJP released the Narada sting operation which showed many top TMC leaders, including Sovan, accepting bribes. His family troubles cost him his portfolios in Mamata Banerjee's cabinet & position as the Mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation. Baishakhi's husband, a college professor has no power to oppose his wife's extra-marital affair. After Sovan moved out of his residence to live together with Baisakhi in a rented flat, TMC fielded Ratna's father as the party candidate for an assembly bypoll, which he won. It was after that, Sovan-Baisakhi ditched TMC & joined BJP. However Sovan wasn't too active in the BJP till recently because Baisakhi wasn't receiving the same amount of dignity he received from the cadres. To pacify Baisakhi, state BJP president Dilip Ghosh stated that Sovan & Baisakhi were inseparable like dal & rice. Baisakhi is currently living with Sovan, abandoning her husband & 4-years old daughter, acts as Sovan's spokesperson & has made for herself a position in state BJP even as far as having her own office in the State headquarters as Sovan's 'friend'. If Sovan stands from his home constituency as the BJP candidate, we wouldn't be surprised to see Ratna becoming the TMC candidate fielded against Sovan.
