    End-of-life decisions, such as DNR orders, require that the person be of sound mind during the decision. That covers the legal aspect - the rest is a question of the State vs. individual freedoms.

      The Mother and Father of the House of Commons voiced that concern straight away. As long as the patient is of sound mind, they can issue their own Do Not Resuscitate order. To some degree, it could become selfish of loved ones to prolong the life of a relative.
