This is one of the best covers I've found of this piece. It adds those much needed percussions that the original was lacking, which made it sound very flat. Perhaps this was due to hardware limitations back in the day.
Idk, the kick and the snare are way too high in the mix for my taste. It was so jarring when the kick came in. I dont think those particular samples match the atmosphere of the song.
@@nathanpapp432 Perhaps you're right. But the original song always ruined the atmosphere for me in the game when these two jesters appear. There's just something really jarring with the music and the way they walk into that scene, very mechanical and lifeless. This rearrangement addresses how, in my opinion, the song lacks that oomph and playfulness/sillyness that you'd expect from two evil and clumsy jesters in what is their leitmotif. Also I expect such things from music in this genre, which I believe is ragtime(?). Most remixes or rearrangements on UA-cam of this piece just emulate the original's flat sound too, which I feel is a lost opportunity to explore what is actually a very catchy tune and a good composition. Maybe we'll be blessed with a proper rerelease of this gem of a game and get something like a remixed album as Final Fantasy X got which was very nice, even for someone like me who's listened countless of hours to the original PS2 OST of it.
