TALLINN TO HELSINKI FERRY RIDE! ⛴
Вставка
- Опубліковано 12 лис 2019
- We got up at 4 AM on a very windy and cold November morning to take the ferry from Tallinn, Estonia to Helsinki, Finland. It's about a 2 hour ride and things definitely got bumpy, but we arrived safely in Helsinki and even did a little exploring.
Traveling to Helsinki in November is definitely chilly, but we're still glad we got to explore this beautiful Scandinavian city. Make sure you subscribe for our next video where we'll be traveling to Bangkok!
Thanks so much for watching! Don’t forget to like and subscribe :)

It's not even winter yet, so it is still pretty warm in here. :)
We can't imagine what February is like in Helsinki...we would die
if its under -20C it warm.
Its like +5C outside. Its the "I might but on a coat" weather. Come back in Febuary
LOL we know that we are weak - living in California makes you hate cold weather :)
Or, "do I dress for the temperature or the rain that's about to get dumped on the city" weather... But yes, this is just autumn weather for us and I'm looking forward to it getting properly cold 😁
Tallinn-Helsinki is a busy sea route, a lot of commuting passengers. The biggest ferries sail between Helsinki and Stockholm. No wonder you found a good flight deal from Helsinki to Bangkok, Finns like to escape the winter to Thailand, a lot of choices from Helsinki to Asia.
No. Europa is the biggest. Tallinn-Helsinki. Still one of the biggest ferries in the world.
We have a saying Estonia(probably Finland too.. im both so.. 😊) which goes "There is no bad weather, only bad clothing" 😂 but i understand why you didnt buy stuff especially just having a short time in this cold. To be honest it is a hard time having the waves while on the ferry. I get seasick at that point. I manage but it is quite hard. After the biggest maritime disaster in modern times involving civillians with MS Estonia going from Tallinn to Stockholm(1994) they have more secure ferrys. Hundreds died. Some survived. So even in thesewaves they will go for overnight trips in the Baltic sea. I'm happy you got the nice experience at the end too. Cool vlogs btw. You just have to manage 😊 Interesting theory on raisins.. 😂 I like it but they are sometimes necessary(like making home made cider) so there is that 😂😂😂
WOW we had no idea about the maritime disaster! We would have been way more scared if we knew about it 😂
If that ferry ride made you think of Titanic then you are so lucky you didnt know about Estonia ferry.
Somebody else commented about this and we just looked it up!!! So scary 😁
Estonia was on Its Way to Stockholm Sweden ! A Disaster like that coulndt ever happen on 50miles / 80km - inbetween Helsinki to Tallinn ! You need to have OPEN SEA ! I was once on a Tallinn Ferry - That had to back up - to get thru the ICE !
We really enjoyed this! Have a safe fight to Thailand and looking forward to your next set of adventures.
Thanks so much! Flying to Bangkok will be up Friday :)
That first cup of coffee is like 1,5 times more expensive than in other places even in the city centre :o At that time of the morning you'll get a full-sized latte for less than 3 euros in most places. Except for Starbucks, ofc :D
That's good to know! It was about the same price for coffee in Tallinn so we figured we were getting a good deal.
@@JackandGabExplore In that case you were completely ripped off in Tallinn!
I like being in Finland when it's cold. I already live part of the year in Panama, so I'm not exactly missing out on sunshine and beaches. The music scene is amazing. The Swedish speaking area on the coastal Ostrobothnia region is beautiful.
Love your videos !! ❤️❤️
Thank you so much 😍
You guys are crayzy. In december in Nort of Europe with spring jackets !!!!!!!
It's true. We were freezing but now we're in Thailand so that's why we didn't want to splurge on heavier jackets - it would have been a waste
My gf and I are going to all the Baltic countries you just visited in a few weeks. Your videos are really helpful thanks!!
Super cool area of the world to visit - you're gonna have a great time (as long as you dress for the weather!). Glad the vids helped :)
Love your videos!!! 💓
THANK YOU ❤
Hi guys! Congratulations for channel and blog, they are amazing. I've just discovered you and I really enjoy the videos and your happiness travelling. Hope that your journey takes you to my home country, Spain. It's quite touristic (specially Barcelona) but it has many awesome and still unexplored points (particulary for foreign tourists). Keep going and keep travelling
Thank you so much for your kind words. It really means the world to us!! We would love to visit Spain. We've heard great things about the food, the people and the culture. We're hoping to visit next summer! ❤
Winter is quite late this year usually by late November it is snowing and below freezing in Tallinn and a bit colder in Helsinki
the spark of life is when they speak even at the cost of an abstract tulip.
Last winter (in the US) I spent full eight hours exploring Downtown Chicago while waiting for a flight... I really got to see a lot of things but in the end I was frozen to the bone. I can't wait to watch your next video in Bangkok! By the way I happen to like raisins...: )
Haha yes we felt lucky to be in Helsinki but definitely cold! So funny that you actually like raisins 😂
You guys are amazing! You should come to Slovenia ❤
Thank you so much 😍 Slovenia looks so beautiful and it's on our list of countries that we really want to visit!!
Statistics say that Finland is the happiest country in the world. But for me as a person from Spain, with this cold in Finland I have many doubts. Greetings from Spain and good luck.
Hahaha that's exactly what we think! We've heard wonderful things about Spain and we're hoping to visit next summer :)
Northen people dont give a f... about nothing. i think statistics are made who are most unhappy... If you dont give....you cant be unhappy also.
In April i was in Tenerife. Spain people are so emotional..i think they are very happy and sad at the same time :D
Great video, hello from a San Diego native now in New Jersey!
That's awesome! Gab is originally from upstate NY and then we moved to San Diego so kinda the opposite situation :)
Is Gab from Buffalo NY ? Upstate People are used to THE SNOW & BLIZZARDS !
Eh coldest time is in january - march (0C- -20C deppends the year). November we have kids weather like +5 in Helsinki.
The ferry ride looks like a must!!! Please do return to Finland sometime later, it looks beautiful
Happy Travels ✈️ ✈️
We'll definitely have to go back during the summer time 😂
No ENTRY - WE HAVE CORONA !
@@JackandGabExplore well it's impossible to sleep in Finland in summer because the sun never sets:)
You had coffee in my neck of the woods! (Oddly enough I've never been to that place but have walked past it countless times.) Anyway, last November was actually quite warm :)
Welcome to Helsinki, sorry for the rain!
HAARP!
Its actually quite warm for November. January-February are the real cold months. Upwards of -20°C.
We literally can't imagine....we would just sleep in a sauna 😂
Nice 👏👏👏
Hi! Enjoyed watching your video. By the way, did you just walked from the hotel to the port for the ferry to Helsinki? Is Tallink City Hotel is near by where you stayed? In a couple of months, my hubby & I are going to Estonia. Good job on your video😄
Gab is so cute as a button! 😊
Awww thank you 😊
Jason Button ? The Formula One Driver ?
I really don't understand why you didn't buy some warm clothing :D
Probably because they can only carry a limited amount of clothes
@@val91201 Exactly! Plus we were about to fly to Bangkok so we would have only needed the clothes for a week and we decided it wasn't a necessary expense.
At Flee Market - You may / can dress up - for suitable price ! Some People Visit regulary - just to LOOK GOOD ! Most of The Helsinki People use used clothes - anyway !
i like raisins !
Jack and Gab, it is another lovely video! It is just the right time that you are going to Bangkok. The Indo-northern monsoon ended in in October, not much rain, but it rains occasionally. The northern wind is blowing from the North which brings some cool and pleasant weather into the area from November to the end of January. It is also the rice harvesting season. You will see the golden rice fields. Since you will be in the area you should visit Siem Reap, Cambodia. Bon voyage!
We have had BEAUTIFUL weather this week in Bangkok! We feel even more grateful since we were so cold in the Baltics and Finland. We're definitely going to visit Cambodia and vlog about the experience :)
You booked - at The RIGHT TIME ! Nobody knows Now - Thanks to Corona - When All This is Possible - The NEXT TIME ? It is getting WARMER NOW - but The Streets are EMPTY ! Many surely come to see You - having Cool Fun ! By The Way - You have NO IDEA - What Cold MEANS !
Hii, nice video!!
How long does the ferry take to arrive fromTallinn to Helsinki?
I'm thinking to go to Finland for working and get back Tallinn everyday.
Thanks!!! 👍🏻💪🏻😘
If we remember correctly, the boat takes about 2-3 hours.
Estonia 🇪🇪🇪🇪🇪🇪🇪🇪🇪🇪👍
Cold now? What you'd say in a winter time? :)
lol we would be FREEZING! :)
Thank God - You Dindt complain about - anything else ! The Weather is for LOCALS ONLY !
How much did the trip cost you in the ship
There is NEVER a bad weather... just wrong clothing.
You should have bought a 2nd hand jacket - for a day or two ! 24 hour pass to all trams / Suomenlinna Ferry / Metro for just 8€ !
05:36 "..so cold here .. " Helsinki cordinates North 60,15 East 25 ,25" in November is even first days maybe even snow 5 cm deep and - 5 C.
So cold but no snow? :( We went to Tallinn in February there was -15C and tonnes of snow, never made it to Helsinki though. Thailand will be a bit warmer though? :p
Also Helsinki isn't any colder than Tallinn.
I know when the weather is super cold we at least want to see some snow! Luckily we have been in Thailand for a week now and the weather is INCREDIBLE!
the bording ferry just check tickt or tickt and passport
Subing to see more of Estonia, summertime?
Hello, I am a Turkish citizen. Is there a visa check on the ferry from Tallinn to Helsinki?
That ferryride was not even windy.
And Suomenlahti is rly small body of water.
But usually if there is waves in other side, then another half is peacefull.
And vice versa.
But REAL storms are once in a blue moon.
Did you need passport to travel from Estonia to Finland
Lol why? U dont need it i believe
Well now you know one person that likes raisins, especially in a "kringel"- estonian name, dunno how it's in english.
Uhm.. Did you guys buy the ticket for the metro?
tram-
I like raisins. To be fair: raisins, oranges, apples, plums and bananas might be the extent of my fruit repertoire. So what do I know.
😂😂😂
It's must be very depressing in dark cold winter's there
It feels better when snow arrives, it brings more light. I don't mid the cold but the darkness feels heavy, like many Finns I like to escape to the Canary Islands or to Thailand in mid winter. And the light therapy lamps helps too ;) In summer it's opposite, the nights are short.
mikrokupu yeah it's must be fascinating in summer's you have whole day to roam around and have fun
3:05. Biggest tragedy after Titanic. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_Estonia
Someone give her the damn coffee
How many Tesla cars did you see in this video ? ;)
Why did you take Finlandia , estonian company is much better, TALLINK is the right one.
Im a drug addict, i can see that You both are too.
Helsinki shit
