The greatest duo in automotive journalism.
The music is so good! The drums and brass, perfect.
This is my favourite episode. I love this house, I love American craftsman homes and like Jay said, to me it looks like a variation of one even though it isn't. I also like the simplicity of the Singer 911 and the 4WD. What else could anyone ever need.
What a contrast between the Jeep and the Porsche!
Donald Osborne is a treasure.
It's not the pizza JAY is eating that disgusts Donald it's the cardboard Jay is eating it from.
Mixing classy cars with classic houses make for a marvelous 40 minutes time spent on UA-cam
Felix and Oscar at it again ❤ thank you 😊
What a great comparison. How many are thinking, "I should have thought of that."?
"I like the snick snick of the gearbox" pulls revs, shifter won't go into the next gear .... I like when Jay says something Donald had never thought of before and Donald just smiles because he enjoys cars so much and is glad to learn something new. Great show.
Nice house and nice jeep
Cool color combination!
Marvelous....
Jay is my kind of guy he's so down to earth
The moment i watch this series I am immediately drawn to these beautiful properties and not forgetting the cars of course. In addition to that , I love the gorgeous New England Coastline and the stunning background that Donald and Jay drive through🙏🙏💕💕💯💯
The house tours are great but they have to raise the energy and enthusiasm level on the part with the cars.
LOVE Donald Osborne! Such a classy gentleman and an awesome smile. Just a wonderful experience to watch Donald and Jay working together.
Love all you content jeep it up 🎉
Donald, compliments on the added girth to your Mustache and beard. It looks magnificent!
Heehee, for once I like the house a lot, too, lots of shady outdoor space and not too glaringly-bright inside. Cozy if still, well, pretty grand and all. And tan Wagonneer is proper. :) Of course I love the tastefully-done SInger, and heh, didn't expect to see a Boatley. :) (And I really kinda like the touch of green on the outside. I think they went with too bright a shade on the inside, though.)
Nobody does it better when it comes to CARS 🚗 ❤
Donald is a unique individual! Well read, well spoken, steeped in knowledge, passionate automotive aficionado! And Jay is "ok", too! Hah ha, j/k Jay!I Love these guys!
Not to mention that Donald is a classically trained and accomplished opera singer. And Jay's not a half bad comedian either!
It's like a 40 minute vacation watching Jay and Donald In Newport. Lake Geneva WI Is called the Newport of the West.
Love the Bentley
One of the most beautiful Porsche I've ever seen! This pale blue with the beefy orange Fuchs wheels is just excellent for this model!
As for the Wagoneer, the fake wood panels on the outside is the most tacky thing on any car ever - I wonder how that was considered stylish back then!? Its truly an appalling eyesore! 😅
A reminder of just how little competition Jeep had back in the day, producing a sufficiently refined 4x4 to transport the weathy to their beach houses and ski condos on Friday evening.
Love the combination of car conversation and Newport house conversation. Would also love to see Donald and Jay get at least a short tour of the inside of these houses
You're in luck! Although this is a new episode, it was recorded at a much later date. We have started filming inside! Check out Snug Harbor:Jay Leno & Donald Osborne in Audrain Mansions & Motorcars: Season 5 Episode 4: Snug Harbor, and stay tuned for more episodes where we tour the inside of the homes!
Wagoneer = body bolted on to a frame. There is a delay with the body catching up to the frame when you turn the tiller 🤣
Donald your attire matches the Jeep perfectly 👍 and Jay is dressed like he attended a funeral just before your filming✌️Enjoying your episodes from New Hampshire
An unusual group of vehicles. Nice to see another Singer Porsche. A 911 with more style hp and finesse. The Jeep. Meh. Beautiful houses as usual. My favorite Bentley. The stripes are different . A Bentley that doesn't stand out like a rich circus. Thank you. My two favorite chaps. ❤❤👍🤑😎
The pizza looks good!
It comes from a restaurant in town, Amano! amanopizzanpt.com/
The luxury of very expensive frequent maintenance
excellent episode....i agree with them that the Bentley is reminiscent of the cars sportsman would drive to the track and race and drive home.... much more interesting than screaming on the edge hypercars which see only very limited use.
That Singer sure does sing
Like Jay , l was starting to lose the plot when Donald went into overdrive with his historic detail . But when the car comparison's came into the equation ,it all made sense ......well nearly !! 😅 Thankyou gentlemen
your seat belt is twisted Jay lol nice discussion
Another great episode! I am surprised that you did not mention the engineering "bloodline" that made that Bentley possible at a comparatively low cost. Under that classic Bentley body are the bones and the heart of an Audi A8, on a shortened wheelbase. The engine position allows the front axle centerline to lie just behind the engine block... belying that the chassis is a front wheel drive layout that includes secondary drive to the rear axle as a standard feature. The latest generation actually departed from that platform, sharing a less forward biased engine position with the current generation Porsche Panamera. VW's luxury divisions do an excellent job of concealling their common architectures!
Great video
The home (at least from the exterior) reminds me of the winchester house in san jose
I really like that Bentley, like a modern Bristol 401 almost.
✌️❤️
So good to see a new episode tome these two are the best team Cars 🚗 Jokes great back drop ❤ MIGWECH from Toronto ❤
Great series, and hard to beat Donald and Jay. But did you notice at 8:22 the car doesn't seem to go into gear as smoothly as Jay just stated? Not sure why anyone would pay 7 figures for a Singer 911.
Ed Pink is an engine genius.
This is the same Singer 911 that James May drove on Top Gear
1966-69 the super wagoneer was their ultra luxury wagon
The Bentley's registration fits Westchester County or The Hamptons. Give me a 1968 Mercedes Benz 600 SWB. 🤣✌️👍
This Bently would be my winter&salt car with 4 snow&ice tyres. Keep the 600 dry🤣
Love the Wagoners, way too expensive these days
Donald is dead on about the GT3 category and it's relation to Road cars and the connection with those Classics of the 1960's the Ferrari 250 GT SWB the Aston Martin DB4 GT's with the SuperLegerra and the Zagatos come to mind
Pateek (sic) Phillipe watches!
Jeep is interesting. In most of the eastern countries like Iran,Turkey and some others people refer to SUV’s as Jeeps. Like, oh, it’s a Mercedes Jeep for an Mercedes Ml.
ah, the thought of buying a multi-million dollar house, sitting on the porch and listening to the trucks rattling by in the never-ending traffic.
The house was made and sited for horses.
Count the um
It was 5% of the amount over $30,000, not the entire sale price.
Most of the Jeep Grand Wagoneers ended in piles of rust on Nantucket. 😂😂
too much donald not enough jay this time, balance is required in the universe
Slight inconsistencies in window aluminum interior trim of the Singer Porsche.
gotta go, osbourne mentioned houses.
I prefer the V12 because it's more exotic and when you're buying a really expensive car don't you want to be more exotic because tons of people have a V8
Just like a bank vault and falls apart like a house made in China
Jay - Did you mean, to say “sporting pretensions” or rather to say sporting aspirations in regard to WO Bentley’s performance ethos embodiment - “a sporting car with luxury”🦊
Jay seemed to lump the GT3-R in with the other Continental GTs. It is very different.
I've rebuilt engines, so I know leather does not belong in an engine bay--it's called putting lipstick on a pig.
Not very good audio on this segment so far around 5min in
You are correct, this episode was shot years ago with a limited crew and different equipment, however we didn't want to scrap the episode.
Jay - your audio engineers should have removed some of the bottom end on those mics. Nasty in the Singer and now in the Jeep as well.
This episode, although airing now, was recorded at a later date with older equipment and a limited crew - half of which had no training or experience in video production. We didn't want to scrap the episode as we feel that would be a greater disservice to our viewers, so our current editor did his best at cleaning up the messy audio. Check out one of our more recently filmed episodes, like Sunset Terrace! ua-cam.com/video/pcs-apo0Dt4/v-deo.html
Rides shakes their voices! Needs suspension backing off.
Great car but like anything special to much cash to shell 🐚 out 😢
make J a full time exployee then i will subsxribe
2 cool
These two are automotive legends! They’re like peanut butter and jelly… good separately but much better together!!
