Hi Kay. It's always great to hear a new reactor that enjoys music as a whole. You have a great, authentic personality😊. If you want rap, I'd start with what's on his new album. Wicked Ways, (lyric video), Seven Sins, Genesis, Illest of our Time. Uninvited (another lyric video). Money Game part 1, 2 (lyric video only) then part 3. He is all things music, poetic, empathetic, funny authentic guy who has had a tough life full of physical and emotional pain.
Ren and Sam (his videographer) are perfectionists, they took many many takes to get to this point, it only takes one mistake from either of them and its back to the beginning. Ren said they lost several takes because of outside noises, sirens, engines, people shouting 'shut the fuck up' etc. 😂
I’m sure you’ve gotten this comment already, but just in case-he does these live and in one take so that’s why the echo is still in the video. Also, he does have some lighter tunes but more heavy ones than not. His band The Big Push has some great stuff!
Expecting Spotify to serve you something "out of the ordinary" is like going to McDonald's and hoping for a Gourmet 5 course meal: not gonna happen. You get the average noise blurp that is easy to consume by everyone, playing in the background, without thinking about it. Based off the same boring average stuff on your playlists or by payed "curators" with very different motifs. Here you get these bangers recommended by humans who have *actively* listened to the music and care. Keep going. Spotify also isn't the place to support artists financially. You're basically paying Spotify and the many middlemen and major labels which leaves a fraction of a cent per stream for the actual artists. Even Amazon and YT pay more.
Regarding the Gun question in Screeches Tale. More and more police in London are carrying guns as a result of the amount of terrorist attacks we have had. If you're in a major train station or around tourist attractions you'll see Armed Response Units that carry sub-machine guns. and pistols.

This is a pure masterpiece and should be studied in universities it’s that important, I’ve done a breakdown of all the main characters in these tales with my theories of how it all fits together on my YT there’s a playlist, like all great art it’s open to interpretation and for the viewer to gain what they can from it so I am in no way claiming my theories are correct but they do offer a glimpse into some of the “Easter Eggs” dotted around the video, introductions and songs.

During Screech's encounter with Richard the cop, I always wonder what tenants in the surrounding apartments think, being woken up from a deep sleep to Ren screaming, "These are my f***ing streets, and they call me f***ing Screech!!" They're probably quaking in their beds, afraid to turn on the lights, hoping the derelict kid wanders off into the night. (Not realizing it's Ren recording a music video...) Great reaction, btw. The overenthusiastic-vs-monotone intro cracked me up.

Univited - if you want a more recently released one, the only track off Sick Boi not labelled "explicit" due to swearing. Not going to spoil it but maybe afterwards you'll have questions. Yes normal police in the uk do not carry guns, but if they are called to a stabbing they will send armed police. Contrary to popular belief we do have armed police in the uk, we just don't let the average officer carry guns. Since this is based in london then they have a lot more armed police than your average city in Britain(i say britain because in Northern Ireland which is part of the uk not Britain, all of their police are armed and unlike in Britain, in Northern Ireland people can own handguns for self defence which isn't true in britain, although in the UK in general you can own guns if you have a licence but not for self defence and licence are hard to get).

Good reaction, I thought - I love the way Patricks' enthusiasm is absolutely underwhelming. I imagine on seeing his first born child, he'd be, "......hmmm........ it's very..............pink........" Both musically, and the storytelling format are reminiscent of travelling minstrels from medieval times. (It might be worth noting that these were all "one-takes" - no editing). You can't go wrong with Ren - whatever style he uses (and he has many), he's fire. (Have to say, your pause to chat in the stairwell of Violets Tale was truly terrible timing).

Yes, he does happy songs. Even funny songs. He has a wicked sense of humour and even his darker songs will contain a smidgen of humour somewhere. Unfortunately, he's lived half his life in real, constant pain and suffering and remains seriously ill and in constant pain. At his worst he was bedridden for 7 years, in unrelenting chronic pain, unable to sleep properly, having to eat the exact same, liquidised, meal every single mealtime, due to his severe autoimmunity making him allergic to virtually all food. At his very worst he was unable to read, watch tv or socialise and even having a shower, every 2 or 3 days, was an excruciating and exhausting ordeal. It's perfectly understandable that his songs aren't only about the joys of life. He spent almost the entirety of 2023 far from home, in a clinic in Calgary, Canada, undergoing experimental medical treatments, in an attempt to repair some of the damage to his body and brain. He'll still be there until Spring 2024.
The guitar could be considered "bard"core, a musical genre that has Sting spearheading the way, and which Ren is profoundly talented in (as with everything I've seen him do). Originally from Wales and the U.K., troubadours are a part of the history, where news (especially bad news, if in the presence of a royal, you wouldn't want your head lopped off for a bit of a sour turn) and stories were passed down through song and poetry.
Dax, and Tom Macdonald are a couple of other artist I would recommend you listen to. Both artist are independent and absolutely fire. Awsome job yall. Go Cowboys!

we do have guns in the uk for our police but they only tend to respond to serious crimes, murder for example. as its what happened in the tale here.

Yes, he does happy songs. Even funny songs. He has a wicked sense of humour and even his darker songs will contain a smidgen of humour somewhere. Unfortunately, he's lived half his life in real, constant pain and suffering and remains seriously ill and in constant pain. At his worst he was bedridden for 7 years, in unrelenting chronic pain, unable to sleep properly, having to eat the exact same, liquidised, meal every single mealtime, due to his severe autoimmunity making him allergic to virtually all food. At his very worst he was unable to read, watch tv or socialise and even having a shower, every 2 or 3 days, was an excruciating and exhausting ordeal. It's perfectly understandable that his songs aren't only about the joys of life. He spent almost the entirety of 2023 far from home, in a clinic in Calgary, Canada, undergoing experimental medical treatments, in an attempt to repair some of the damage to his body and brain. He'll still be there until Spring 2024.
The guitar could be considered "bard"core, a musical genre that has Sting spearheading the way, and which Ren is profoundly talented in (as with everything I've seen him do). Originally from Wales and the U.K., troubadours are a part of the history, where news (especially bad news, if in the presence of a royal, you wouldn't want your head lopped off for a bit of a sour turn) and stories were passed down through song and poetry.
Dax, and Tom Macdonald are a couple of other artist I would recommend you listen to. Both artist are independent and absolutely fire. Awsome job yall. Go Cowboys!

Little side note: Patrick actually wasn't at home. He was at Screechs girlfriends. Ren did something on his Instagram story (I believe) that was basically a back story for some of these songs and one of them was that.

The tales of Jenny and Screech he read about in a newspaper as a young man, and the story just had a lasting effect on him. IDK if those were the real names. The Violet part of the story is fictional and he made it up to tie Jenny and Screech together.
