Thank you! And yeah, the wood burning tool is a bit intimidating at first, but I'd just suggest taking a piece of scrap foam and practicing on that before you move to your final project.
thank you so much for your comment! and I agree, I didn't realize how much you could use a wood burner for cosplay for the longest time, glad I figured it out though!
Great video! You inspired me to make a Viking-esque Captain America shield. I need to get a soldering iron though, would you recommend getting one from Amazon?
Ahhh that’s such a cool idea! Def tag me on IG when you’re done/or on your progress! And yeah, I’ve just been using a cheap soldering iron off Amazon. It’s going to get cruddy so I wouldn’t pay too much for one

I'm planning on making a tower guard shield from LotR for my buddy and this video was very informative. Thank you!

I’m so impressed on your use of heat the make the wood grain in the shield... really brings out the wood feel!
thank you so much! soldering irons are underrated when it comes to cosplay details!
looks great, my kids will hopefully love what I make for them based on this!
Awesome video. As a beginner I haven't yet tried a soldering iron on foam but amazed at how that wood texture turned out!

I asked a question about a wood burning tool and you answered the question
YAYYYYY
Is the shield flexible? Or does it stay flat if pressed?
Did the foam mat have texture when you bought it?
