God, I wish people still made music like this for games. There's just something about Bejeweled 2's soundtrack that's so unique and great in this day and age.
@@crweewrc1388 I would guess mainly synths. I'm not sure if Skaven used a computer in those days, or if this was composed for a music workstation (like a Korg keyboard).
I remember the day I got my first computer in 2008. It was an eMachines that had an online suite of games. I saw Bejeweled 2 and gave it a try while I had free access to it. It was such a mesmerizing puzzle game from the shiny pieces that gave a crisp explosion when you'd match them all while this beautifully hypnotic music kept playing. Eventually I found it on the 360 and kept playing the demo version. One of the best experiences out of a puzzle game I've ever had.
Takes me back to 2008 when I first got internet running in the house and my first computer. It had a limited trial to a suite of games and boy did that get me to fall in love with Bejeweled 2. Popcap was such a great developer back then...then EA bought them out to milk the success of their Plants Vs. Zombies series and they've gone downhill since
@@loominatrx After a long journey I've finally found it, here's the link, it was not very easy to search, may you enjoy Skaven's soundcloud thoroughly soundcloud.com/skaven252/looking-back
This feels like a combination between Plains of Destiny from Astal, Floating Graveyards from R-Type final and the main menu song from Serious Sam classics: Revolutions

What instruments does this kind of music use?

Subnautica comes to mind but iirc the composer's a weirdo

😔
I never realized how big of a part popcap really played in my childhood. They made some of the greatest casual games of all time.
Oh how I miss this
Same
One of the best tracks in Classic/Endless Mode
I remember listening to this. You should listen to his recent song "Looking Back". The melody in both songs are identical

This music fits well for underwater levels in mario games.

The soundtrack of Bejeweled 2 can be easily part on Nier_Automata.
La pista musical de Bejeweled 2 puede ir a la par de Nier_Automata.
