      I don’t know about all that LOL. Necessity is the mother of all invention though. Like I said I saw it somewhere else and built it out of stuff I had laying around. If the spring is too much I saw another one that was using elastic/rubber bands. Just a thought. Thanks again for watching.

    Clever gizmo. It looks like a great candidate for 3-D printing.

      There’s lots of 3d printing options that make case feed 100% reliable.

    That is pretty slick, you have to be a tinkerer sometimes with Lee. My loadmaster is running perfect after a few mods. Thanks for your info.

    Very Nice! . One thing I noticed with mine is how much the press tilts when loading tall cases in the lee quick change mount. That leads to lots of small problems imho. The cases seem to wobble a little when using the press. I bolted mine down solid, and it went away. I think the lee quick change bench adaptor thing needs to be about double the thickness of steel. The inline Fab one is about 3 times as thick and seems much better on my other press. I'm ordering one for this press. Nice modification to the feeder. I may build one if problems plague me with mine.

    I'm fairly sure NotAnExpert@mshaw290808mi 7 years ago is the earliest mod in that nature out there. It was for the lee pro 1000, but it'd still work on the 6000 the same. I like your adaptation of it better though, because it is a bit stronger and easier to make if you ask me! Thanks for sharing! I plan to make one your way to see how well it works for me!

    This looks to be a terrific frustration reliever. Why hasn't Lee come out with this? MY .357 cases fly all over the place. Used the smaller opening and verified with the penny.

      This has saved me from tossing this in the corner for sure. I have done a few tweaks on it since the video but due to Life I have not been able to do any videos for a while. As things have settled down at my job and home I will get back to it soon I hope. Thanks for watching, and on a side note I have seen where people have 3D printed this also.

    The APP has the same issue, and it looks like this may just be adaptable to work on it. I made a crappy feed gate that works pretty well, but it's just taped on. Now if there was only a mod to fix the priming system. Lee has mine for repair/replacement because the priming system kept self destructing.

    • @psykoklown874
      @psykoklown874 Рік тому

      @Kevin Addison Lee had me send it in so they can repair or replace it. They sent replacement parts 4 times. The last time included the plate with the top plate with the feeder tracks. I think they went as far as retrofitting back to old parts.

    Do you think having a case diameter specific insert in the case feeder would help?
    I've got the same issues with the case feeding. As I watch mine, it seems that often the angle of the next case in the tube is putting pressure on the bottom case mouth at a weird angle.
    Just can't tell if it's simply based on the jolt the case sees as it falls and hits the plate, and/or from the next case (and the whole stack) from trying to sit on the fed casings mouth at a weird angle.
    No 3D printer here either, but it would be interesting to see if the next case being generally vertical would help. Don't mind mods, but a tapered insert would be a lot easier to deal with. Of course with the caveat you'd either have to change the insert depending on case, or have cartridge diameter specific feed tube bases.

    • @aubreyfishingandoutdoors5479
      @aubreyfishingandoutdoors5479  Рік тому

      I was noticing that it would happen more on longer cases, those that sit higher than the slider. Not sure if a caliber specific feed tube/case feeder would be more trouble than it is worth, that was the reason I went with this setup as I can pretty much leave it in place all the time.

      Lee has come out with a slower advance rod that may help. What caliber are you loading. If you are loading straight wall then flair a little more. If loading bottle neck I don’t know if they make a flair for them.

      It was just a steel tube that I had in my junk drawer. It looked like the insert of a rubber grommet to be honest but you could use copper tubing as long as it fits over the bolt holding the case feeder. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.

    How do you keep the case feeder spring and the primer feeder spring from kinking up and binding. I was having trouble with mine doing that so I tried putting some weed eater line in the springs to stiffen it up and that seemed to help. If anyone has any information I would appreciate it.

      One penny height above the case mouth sitting on the slider as per the directions that came with the press. It seemed that I was having the problem more with bottle neck cases but it would happen with the straight wall too just not as often.

    Lee can't seem to find a way to make a reliable case feeding and primer feeding system. At this point they should make something solid..sell it for more and make people happy. Nobody wants to fix design issues with a brand new press. When I sit down to reload, I want to reload, not clearing jams. The low cost of the press does not justify the frustration.
