Not very into yoga, but I'm using this as a way to learn how to do a back handspring for gymnastics. Very clear and helpful tutorial, thank you so much :D
Hi! Thank you for this. I would love to hear your tips about coming up. Currently come up most of the time, but it is extremely hard. I have a reaally hard time keeping my head back!
The downward motion is easy for me with gravity and all lol. It's the upward movement is where I get stuck. I love the idea of using a table to push off of until I develop those muscles. So cool!!!
Ah yes using the wall and a table can really be a game changer. Anothing thing that helped me was thinking "inhale UP". I think that was more for the confidence to come up once the body was ready.
I really liked this tutorial, I have learnt how to drop back with the help of a wall and without a teacher 😅, I have been at it for years. Now I need to work on coming back up from the level of the table that your brought in. Do I need to practice any drill in the meanwhile to strengthen my legs or does it just happen naturally overtime. Thank you so much, it’s a wonderful video, namaste 🙏 🇮🇳
Amazing tutorial, thank you! This has gone from seeming impossible to quite achievable, although it will clearly take some time and work. My goal was to learn this skill to eventually progress towards a back handspring. I had never heard of ashtanga yoga before, but your mention of it has piqued my interest to find out more about it.
Good question! This took me about 4 years of a regular Ashtanga yoga practice to be able to do. But it depends on many factors! How flexible you are, how strong you are and how often you practice! If you feel comfortable in backbends then this could be the next step.
Thank you so much for this video! 🙏🏻🥰 I’m struggling with drop backs and a specially coming up. I’d love to se a video on technics on how to come up. All the best to you! ❤️
I’m in the process of opening up and getting my backbending into the forefront of my daily practice routine, really appreciate your input and advice which helps me along on my slow and steady process . Even at 66 years old I still am able to get into poses that I thought I would never be able to do- the magic of devotion to Yoga can be such a great gift, many thanks for a great post ❤️🧘🏼🙏
