Thanks for bringing back memories. I lived near Boulder in the late 1980's to late 90's It was the Coors Classic that brought me to ride again. I was in my 30's I rode Boulder Canyon but no gravel on 19 mm tires. I still have the Trek 1420 triple with a 28/28 granny gear. It has been modernized with bifters and new handlebars, crank set and mechanics. I hit a rock rolling down Left Hand Canyon at 35 mph. Tire went flat and almost ended up in the creek. I did a loop from Lafayette to Estes Park (Peak to Peak) to Boulder via Left Hand and 36 back to Lafayette. As close as I can figure 83 miles. No cycling kit just regular shorts. Yeah! I weighed 190 lbs and I smoked a pack a day then.
Spent last Summer in Boulder for work. Bringing my bike was one of the best decisions I made. Thanks for highlighting some of the incredible riding around the area! Lots of nostalgia in this video :)
Great video/ride. Mike I can tell you weren't to stoked about the gravel especially, the descent and I can't blame you. I'd probably feel the same, but you handled it! Inspiring indeed!
I got to do a ride while on vacation, June 2016, rode from our cabin in Nederland to Boulder by way of Magnolia Road and did part of Flagstaff Rd, awesome riding. Can't wait to get a chance to go back. Hopefully I will have more time to explore more routes....
Mike, great one. Wish it was up last year before my visit. But found some good fun. Superflag is a BEAST. Peak to peak is beautiful and did Pikes Peak. Come visit us in the Okanagan!
I noticed that you were using the Garmin 1000 bike computer. Looked like you had 10 fields on your display I was wondering what you track? Great video beautiful scenery.
Hi Louis. I've got a whole bunch of things going on up front - speed, av speed, hear rate, average heart rate, distance, time, direction, temperature, gradient and elevation. A nice distraction when the oxygen is thin and the road is pointing skywards ;-)
I have climbed every CO mountain pass from either direction, except for this ride. What width and type of tires did you all use for this ride which is a combination of road and gravel? 25, 28cm, etc? I notice you are all riding standard road frames using disc brakes.
Hi Stephanie, sounds like you've done some serious exploring! I was using 25c Mavic Yksion Elite tyres front and rear. I'd recommend their 28's just to give a bit more comfort and so you can drop the pressure a touch. Ride safe and enjoy!! Mike
Nice work . Looked like a big day out mixing it up . Looks like you made an effort to leave the text up a bit longer too , had no problem reading it , cheers :)
Great video! Definitely shows the magic of road cycling in Boulder. Makes me wonder why I moved away. Southern California is absolute S**T compared to Colorado, and that's not just referring to the cycling here either. I'll be back soon!

Love it when you come to America.

This is an excellent channel. Really enjoying it.
The best episode yet, and I enjoy them all. Thanks!
That's like a perfect day right there. Sunshine, mates and mixed terrain.
Amen
so sick! I'm visiting Boulder for the first time this June. Stoked for the riding
Descending a steep dirt track on 25mm slicks with rim brakes...Chapeau Mike!
Wow that's challenging route for sure, thanks for such a great view of the ride. Cheers!!
My favorite episode yet! Awesome!
I love Peak to Peak Hwy... out of Ward to Nederland I could hit 62mph (100kph) in the big bend... long before Strava! Great video, Mike.
Nice loop! I think I'll add this to my routes for this spring/summer here in Boulder.
Nice ride. Did a lot of fishing and swimming up at Gross as a kid. Beautiful up there
Fantastic work guys. I'm in Fort Collins, I got to go down and do this ride!
As always a great video. Thanks mate
You're very welcome Colin!

Just over the hill from my home in Salt Lake City! Great ride! I agree on the 28's!
Pure rock and roll. Great!
You have to do more videos like this one . Great ride ! :)
Stay tuned :-)
another great video Mike super mate; crazy to see you out of breath wow
Great video, Mike!
Circled around and watched this again. Good one, Mike.
Watching Duggan when he was pro racing laying it down on the front of the peleton reminded me of the word crazed animal with respects to the guy.
epic. beautiful scenery and great to share it with a small group of friendly like minded cycling addicts.
Superb!!!
Even for someone who has never been to the US, it is so distinguishable.
Sick Mike...so close to California...next time
Mike always has the best shoe/socks color combo
What experience more beuty
✌😎✌....
Congratulation from chile.

I love Colorado
You descended Logan Mill Road on a road bike with 25s? Holy shit!
What is the music In start?
Nice work . Looked like a big day out mixing it up . Looks like you made an effort to leave the text up a bit longer too , had no problem reading it , cheers :)
Yep, kept the text on screen longer this time :-)
The Col Collective Looks like I'm not the only one who appreciates it ;) . Thanks for taking it on board , now to go climb some hills ....
Hey Matt, did you use a different tire for this ride to combat the gravel?
I was using the Mavic Yksion Elite Guard (25c) which give a little extra durability and puncture protection.
first time we see Mike really out of breath ! has to be tough ;)
MrDazer98 sea level to high altitude in a matter of hours, yep, that elevation is tough. Felt like I was breathing through a straw!
Mike Cotty was that harder for you than climbing Mount Evans ?
keep up the great work btw !
I think Mount Evans had the edge, the conditions towards the top at 14,000ft were nothing short of brutal.

You reckon its gravel bike terrain?Go to Denver a few times a year and would love to do it.By the way amazing video
A gravel bike would definitely feel at home around here. If not a road bike with 28c tyres is going to be ok.
Cool many thanks. Will try it asap

Down Logan Mill wow!
Longest video yet (?). Mike can you please lengthen the time captions are on the screen. I can't keep up. LoL
nice drifting .....
Fucking miss Boulder
Both of the American Pros riding discs...…...
When are we going to see disc brakes on your bike? Nice to see a loop instead of a climb. But bring on more climbs!
Matthew Holberton Disc brakes coming soon, and TONS more climbs!!!
