I can’t wait to try making that tunnel! I’m worried my poor lil Janome won’t be able to handle all those layers, though. :/ Please, please do a tutorial on those hidey huts? Thank you for making this look so easy. ;)
Thank you so much...ill be trying it soon. You make everything look soooo easy...lol I love how you explain step by step. And i cant wait for any tutorial u make.
Hi! Thanks again for another great video. I'm interested in a simple Cozy Sack/Cuddle Sack different people call it different things. Thanks in advance
I really like your video, it's very detailed and easy to understand. I hope that I can make this because I am a beginner at using a sewing machine 😳. I guess this will help me practice. I have 3 guinea pigs and want to make them some.
@@GuineaPiggiesDesigns I am also trying to make a cage liner from polar fleece and cotton wadding. I made another one from cotton and bamboo wadding but it's so expensive in Australia, we don't have Uhaul material. I couldn't find it in this shop called spotlight, it sells lots of materials, but no Uhaul. Thanks for your reply 😊
First off Love your stuff!! I make my own and just started selling! My question is for your snuggle tunnel you cut 2 pieces bamboo ,showed the stacking but then I got lost when you actually put them together . So do you use both pieces bamboo on one piece and 2 batting on other piece or one of each on both pieces??? Help!
Aww that sucks, but thats not too bad not being able to back stitch, I know old machines are solid, they are great machines, last a lot longer since they are made out of metal unlike the plastic material they make them out of these days.... What kind of machine you getting again?
@@GuineaPiggiesDesigns yes so true I have a Kenmore DE lux right now but not sure yet on the one that I will be getting kinda checking out to see what brand is good
I heard a lot of good things about Bernina Machines... But they are kinda pricey, I would so own one of those if they were not so expensive. But a good cheap machine is a Singer Heavy Duty its like 150.00 so its a great starter machine, very solid. I use to own one and it did a decent job for that price point. :)
Hi, on the top, left hand side of your machine, do you have a knob that you can change to a #1, #2, or #3 settin? The changes the amount of pressure you have between your sewing foot and the top of your feed dogs. #3 should be the heaviest setting and #1 is the lightest pressure setting. As your fabric gets thinker lighten up the amount of pressure on your sewing foot. That should allow for easier sewing as the layers get thicker. When you are sewing on thicker layers, you can also put your walking foot on and when you sew, the walking foot will put more even feed on the tp layers of fabric too. Just remember to change the pressure on your sewing foot when you go back to sewing thinner or regular layers of fabric. And remember to clean out the bobbin area after about 8 hours of sewing too. The fleece and batting sheds fibers so the bobbin area gets dirtier faster. Thank you, Nancy
This is so true! I always keep mine on the same setting though no matter what and it works wonderfully, every machine is different, mine I just do not need to tweak so much it just sews... but great advice for those using basic machines. :) Thank you.
Girl love your eyeshadow! 😍 Could you please share a link for the larger wonder clips... I struggle to find any bigger than the small ones lol And thank you for the tutorial. Just waiting for the couch tutorial hehe 😁😍😘
Thank you so much Beth! I love makeup lol.... Also the link to my large wonder clips are already in the description of my video. I have everything I used in this video linked there. :D
Oh awesome! It must be fun being a makeup artist! I so wanted to do that back in the day but its so hard for me to do it on other people since I have a deformity in my arm so I cant do certain angles haha.... But thats awesome you do it! It can be a very awarding job. :D
@@GuineaPiggiesDesigns oh so sorry to hear about your arm babe. I'm glad you have found another passion. And it really shows your skills and you can see how much joy you get from it. 😊😁 Honestly I love sewing a little more lol at least the fabric doesn't judge me hahaha We can always exchange skills here and there lol 😁😎😘
Can I ask where you purchase your anti pill fleece and where you purchase you bamboo and thin batting? I would like to bu the bamboo and the thin batt on rolls, to try to get a better price then buying just by the yard. Do you buy your anti pil fleece in bulk? Have you ever figured out how much of the anti pil fleece you would buy if you were making a grouping of the same print? My cage is 6’ by 2’, so it’s pretty large and I would rather have just 1 long piece for the main liner, then I would make a tunnel and some potty pads for inside the t7nnel and smaller pads for under the water bottles in case they drip. Thank for your help. I really enjoy your tutorials too. I am just planning on making these thins for myself. I just don’t have time to start selling these things. Thank you, Nancy
Everything I used is linked in the description in this video. :D And no I do not buy my fleece in bulk... And for what you are making I would recommend 5 or 6 yards of fabric for each color which could cost anywhere from $24.00 up to $96.00
Lovely tutorial! If I wanted to use u-haul padding instead of the batting you used, how many layers would you use and would you go through the same steps?
Sorry for the late response! But I would use two layers of u haul... if you do not have batting just pretend in my tutorial the batting is not there... it will come out the same way just with less layers... :)
Aww so sorry! But I know how you feel.... Sewing stuff gets expensive.... but you can always do it by hand too... :) Just have to make what you have work... :)

What is uhaul? Where can I buy it?
U haul is a absorbent layer and I get it from uhaul.com :)
Cuddle Cups??
Can these be washed?
Yes they can! Many times!
What do you have the tension set at?
I have a janome memory craft 8900 and i still find it a bit hard to go through all the layers
Inbetween 3 and 4 but all machines are different if your thread is bunching tighten your tension :)
Do buy your uhaul material in bulk? I buy one and I can only get three single layer midwest size pieces.
i buy them from u haul.com, link is in description. or use whatever works for you. :)
OMG!!! I used a "HAND MUFF" over 68 years ago.
Hahaha its a tunnel for small animals... :)
I vote...Foam tunnel or the forest...lol
