  • Mixing Cascamite powdered resin wood glue is straightforward. Start by measuring the required amount of powder and water according to the manufacturer's instructions, typically a 2:1 ratio of powder to water by weight. Pour the water into a mixing container, then gradually add the powder while continuously stirring. Use a wooden stick or a small paddle mixer for thorough blending. Stir until the mixture achieves a smooth, lump-free consistency. Allow the mixture to rest for a few minutes, then stir again before use. This method ensures a strong, reliable adhesive for woodworking projects, providing a durable and water-resistant bond.

Never used this glue. Only white and yellow pva glue.
Can you use this cascamite glue for outdoor projects?

Not used it, as I've not been able to find it locally.
I did check on Amazon FR, but was put off as the 2 I could see didn't show a manufacturer's name on the tubs. One was referred to as "one shot" and noted as bring weatherproof in white printing on red bands top and bottom of the label, while the other had a broad black bar around the bottom of the label. Add to that that the Cascamite brand page showed a couple of things that were noted as being Polyvine, and it was enough to put me off for now. Maybe if I can get some sort of income going again I'll order some from the UK if I need any.

Thanks for this informative video. Are you able to get consistent good results with "eyeball" measurements of the powder and water? I've heard others say precise measurements by "weight" are required. I don't have any experience with Cascamite so will try both mixing methods and see how it goes.

You're welcome....I don't have a problem at all you see I am mixing what I need which is easy to visualise when I add the powder first then mix to a paste and adjust to suit application... To start you might want to weigh the powder but it's not necessarily once you have some experience... There is tolerance in the mix but too runny it will shrink and pull from bond and too thick it won't penetrate the wood... Xx

I start with a standard glue mix then add water for fluid flow and apply with a plastic spreader
