The Little Con That Could || CarmillaCon 2019

Carmillacon, the little con that could, is the first exclusive convention for “Carmilla”. On a fall weekend in October, fans from all over the world traveled to Toronto to see panels, get autographs, photo-ops and meet and greets with the cast and creators of the show.
Here's a behind the scenes look into what makes this the little queer webseries that could so special.
“Carmilla” follows the story of a plucky freshman journalism major and her friends to take on a cult of vampires, a giant anglerfish god, and an actual death goddess opening the gates of hell.

I am so fortunate I was able to go to this amazing event. I truly did not believe I would be here after my breast cancer diagnosis. I told Natasha when I first met her in April that I wasn’t sure I was going to survive because I’ve been so sick for such a long time. I see myself in different spots throughout the video and I still can’t believe I was there. I had the absolute best time and I met so many Creampuffs that became family to me the moment I met them. Thank you thank you thank you to everyone from the cast to the crew of Carmilla the series and then the movie. Thank you you to the organizers of this special convention. Thank you to the volunteers especially the ones that waited on me hand and foot. I was in excruciating pain but they always took care of me. Now I’m off to cry 😭 #MoreCarmilla

5:10 That's my service dog Marcel! He's the Bullmastiff. Carmilla Con was the first convention I've ever experienced before. This show brought my girlfriend and I closer together. I showed her this magical little show about these lesbain women, whom I later realized resembled my partner and I perfectly (she Carmilla/I Laura). So many words could be expressed on how much this "little show that could" means to me. But to keep things brief, I will say my heart was filled with admiration for the volunteers, fans, and actors that made this happen. My heart was humbled when I saw so many people from various locations coming together to celebrate love, friendship, family, and these characters. My personal experience left me feeling overwhelmed with so much passion and deep love for such a series. I only hope to return to relive the experience again next year. 💜
