    I was eight years old when I saw this on the big screen in 1972! I was mesmerised to say the least. Later I would see her playing Bruce Lee's sister in Enter the Dragon at the same beautiful theater.

      I was 13 when I went and saw this AND Enter The Dragon on my graduation night from 8th grade in Chicago. The full title was DEEP THRUST: THE HANDS OF DEATH. Awesome times!

    She s.Angela Mao Ying! She is not Korean, she is a Chinese system! She was born in Taiwan .

      She is indeed Chinese (lived in Hong Kong back then) but she was a 2nd degree black belt in Hapkido at the time. Hapkido is Korean, not her.

      @@odojang Angela Mao Ying is a great female Champion!!she did admit learning Korean systems.. if anyone ever seen her early films her true roots are Chinese martial arts. I can tell her kicks and punches are of the Chinese systems.. I am sure she mixed some Korean techniques NOT much of it.. she was hired by Korean and Asian filmmakers to do certain movies.. it is exciting to see her films! Amazing 😍😎 woman she is! Born in Taiwan! Bruce Lee was BORN in San Francisco CA. U.S.A. on video he declared this! He s Chinese AMERICAN and White mixed..see his bio!

      @@eddted2876 I don't know that much about Angela Mao Ying but I saw many of her movies and appreciated her work. As for her ''true roots'' whatever that means, it is often a mistake to judge only from movie perfomances as they are choregraphed, not actual bouts. They can be choregraphed to look like anything. Look at Bruce Lee, Nothing he ever did on screen even had a passing ressemblance to his true fighting method. It was all choregraphed for entertainement purposes only (his first two films were actually choregraphed by Han Ying Chieh, not him although he injected his own unique flare in them).
      You're right about Lee's birthplace and ancestry (His mother was allegedly Half German). However, this is irrelevant to what he was and what he did.

      @@odojang the fact that many believe Bruce Lee was born in Asia so I wanted to clear the truth that came from his own mouth on video.. I respect your comments how fighting scenes were arranged . I been around Chinese artists and how they react compared to TKD Korean skills. The Koreans use more kicks than hands . The Chinese use both hands and feet depending on distances.. Bruce Lee used a combination of many things . Angela Mao Ying born of Chinese blood and as I said she did work with Korean systems as you said. Bet you she acts and thinks Chinsse 24hrs per day! She mostly speaks Chinsse, little English last time I heard her on video with her deep voice! Ha yeah! Love that 😍❤️ woman she is!

    • @odojang
      @odojang 3 роки тому +1

      @@eddted2876 Yeah Angela Mao Ying is Chinese. That she may play a Korean woman in a movie or practice a Korean style doesn't change that, anymore than Benedict Cumberbatch, a British actor, doesn't stop being British because he's playing an American sorceror on screen. And yes Bruce Lee had a dual nationality; American because of his place of birth and Chinese because of his place of residence the first 18 years of his life and his parents' nationality. He was not born but raised in Hong Kong before moving to the US in 1958 (age 18)
      As for Korean styles using more kicks than hands, it's a misconception. Yes, Olympic Taekwondo is only a kicking sport and Korean arts do emphasis kicking and jumping more than other martial arts except maybe French Savate and Brazilian Capoiera. But the original art of Taekwon-Do, (at the start heavily built on Shotokan Karate-Do), has actually a lot more hand techniques than kicks in it's curriculum; and Hapkido (created from the same Japanese Takeda aiki-jitsu style that brought about Japanese Aikido) originally was only joint locks and throws with a few open hand strikes before kicking was added in the early 60's.
      I know; I teach both of them ;)

    I remember the PR problems this movie had back in the days because it starred a woman in a kung fu flick and it's English title was too close to another, much more famous movie showing at the same time; Deep Throat :D

    I saw this movie and many more like it back in the NYC 70’s as a kid. Every week there were new movies to see and always double features and sometimes even triple features. It also wasn’t uncommon for fights to break out in the audience. Those were the days!
