Mate, my heartfelt thanks go out to you for showing this video. I have been fishing for 40 years ( and still do) - from the top of the premier league ( southern) beating the mighty Dorking and Essex teams, to winning numerous individual matches, fly fishing for the national side and carping with the best of them. And I can honestly say that I believe that the venue itself plays a key part in this 'enjoyment'. The sad part is that I for one am not certain that the natural lakes and reservoirs will be filling up again, it's getting v serious.
Fascinating to see so much of the bed exposed. I do a bit of fluff flinging on reservoirs. A few years back, the levels on Grafham were dropped drastically for repair work on the dam. I went for a good walk around. It was interesting to note that a lot of the hot spots were places where there was an old stream bed or feature of some kind that you can't see when the water is at normal levels.
@@CatchFishingChannel It is indeed! A heavy feeder rod, cage feeders around 100grams, some sticky groundbait and 2 pints of maggots. All you need to catch barbel. 5 to 8 pound fish pretty regular.
i remember when they drained roundhay park years ago wich is a deep lake ive been looking for pictures of it when they drained it to get an idea to where the fish could possibly shoal up in winter no one barely fishes it these days so trying to get local knowledge is a bit hard had a couple of hours few months back and caught some fish but in winter i know the shoal up but dont know where.
Take a marker rod if you have one or a bomb rod with a slider float and stop knot and and have a few hours wondering round and find the deeper areas and holes as they normally hold the fish in winter and it gives you a few starting points to chose from
Wow that is empty, I fish here so this is interesting, I fish the plantation area, easy to get to from the road. I read that the maximum depth is 88ft.
@CatchFishingChannel Looking forward to the videos from here, makes me cold just watching you in them winter videos, and I remember the bailiff catching in the video also, was it Brian?.
Unbelievable how far the water has dropped Jamie, you now no were to fish it mate, surely you would fish it now coz the fish are in a smaller lake 🤔 Thank you Jamie, 👍👍
So wild life must have a free for all if its all packed into one confined space so do the water authority's restock or do they all find their way back from wherever? Do you know jamie how it works? Facinating video I love to see things like this just as you do. Cheers mate 👍
@@CatchFishingChannel Jamie. I am a Sheffield exile living in Essex and use to fief Flask and Underbank with Dad and Grandad. Your videos whilst decorating during early Covid were fantastic, Iberia, RDon, Flask etc. I’ve even got the leger gear out again. I owe you a pint if I bump into you in Sheffield when I visit family
Incredible video but at the same time extremely sad, just goes to show the quite disgraceful lack of investment in infrastructure by our water companies.
@@samcook159 no,so you not noticed the hotter summers, extreme flooding of severn in last 4 yrs? Our climate is definitely changing, obviously better management of drains, streams and small rivers would help but that costs money
@@MARCLEEMATCHFISHING The climate is definitely changing but it’s not caused by man as the activists would have you believe. It’s caused by sun spots. That lake is very worrying but we’ve had a lot of rain in the last couple of weeks. I would imagine that it’s filled up now.

No problem Steve mate, was that during the 90's?
@@CatchFishingChannel yeah...time flies, but great memories remain
What a sportsman, sharing all this information with other angler's..well done Jamie..
Thanks Roy 😍

Nice 1 Jamie
Wow what a big eye opener
Hope it fills up soon
Will be facinating to see how this helps with the sessions. Very interesting video.
Thanks Broderick 👍
Those levels! WOW! Looks like a Scotland salmon stream!
Wow. What an eye opener. It's absolutely amazing the difference. Definitely make life easier seeing it as currently is.
Nice video Jamie! With the very low water level this year at the river Rhine I got a good view at my barbel swims! This pays of now! 😉
Oh mate Barbel fishing on the Rhine sounds awesome 😍

Great vid ,beautiful place the Flask ,but great to see the layout like that ,Ive wasted so much time in the past looking at this !!!
Fab video. I loved the original 3 films. And to see the pegs in this detail is fascinating.
Hope the levels get replenished though!
Thank you. 🐳👍👏
Thanks Chris mate!
Great vid Jamie, and what a eye opener . dave
Great, totally unique content and insights. 🎣
Thanks mate!
Great video Jamie ;)
Thanks Frank mate!
If only we could see all this in normal conditions!
It's a great idea for a video. I know some specimen hunters "mark" features with the aid of an app to return at higher water levels.

Yes but it's full right to the top now mate!

No unfortunately I’m not sure mate but I'll try and find out ;)
Cheers for highlighting this Jamie. I'm going to show this to the idiots that still think it's ok to use a hosepipe when there's a ban in place. 😡
sad to see - but an eye opener
Jamie. Is Underbank the same?
I haven't seen it but I hear it's low mate yes

Someone has taken the plug out
Haha
You can now get lost tackle 🤣
😂🤣 Yes you can! 🙌
No wonder you blanked, no fish in it ( had a quick look no one's asked what happen to the fish m8 )
Haha they're all down in the deeper water near the dam wall Steven
@@CatchFishingChannel ohh ok good ty
Its staggering the loss of water in the UK,this is definitely climate change, where do the fish go?
They're catching fish right down near the dam wall now
🙄Absolutely nothing to do with climate change.
