40 years?? wow, hard to believe - time flies. Sometimes I miss the open windows ... but not often! A/C on all lines was a great leap forward for the CTA. Extending the CTA to the airports were wonderful milestones
Nobody got a decent shot of the "Spirit of Chicago" logo. That is the one thing that stands out in my memories as a kid. Even though it was 10 years before I was born, there were still some cars with that logo still rolling around back then. It looked like they had new decals printed.
I'm surprised that there wasn't a George Krambles memorial train! Remember the Skokie Swift, and any number of innovations came on his watch! Past history strikes again! A past CERA member! Thank you 😇 😊!
I like how the 6000 and a 2600 series also 2400 series and 2000s series cars all have red white and blue classic livery the American style or even France 🇺🇲🇫🇷🔴⚪🔵🤟🏾💯😅
I like how they restored a pair of 2600's to their original livery! I hope that pair will stay as part of their heritage fleet...
The two tone with the red, white, and blue stripe belt line was my favorite as a kid, with the little “C” logo at the front of the cars

Cool to see a conductor on the 6000s.

The 2600s need a full restored rake like the 2400s I never understood why CTA saved so many compared to other series as far as preserving.
Great video
Nice catches!
I see myself waving at the cameras at 15:48
This is 40th/Pulaski, this is a blue line train to O’hare
Still to this day is a shame they got rid of the red white and blue with black it made them look so classy :(
I miss the open windows
so sad i didn't get to see it! how do you and your buds know where the train is gonna end up outside of the blue line?
Bro I didn’t know about this until after the fact, I would’ve gotten my butt out to O’Hare in a heartbeat to ride them cars
Quite the chase! Thanks for all that. Were all the car moves from Skokie and back also done on Sunday?

Really??? Celebrating after 4 people were gunned down on the CTA
This happened before that incident. Take your negativity elsewhere.
