I’ve watched your videos for a while now and after I’d got over how you swing - I now look at you as one of us not so perfect golfers. Your distances are incredible for the swing that you have and it shows us ordinary guys - what is actually possible with a good connection. Your short game is very good and that is why you have a decent handicap. At 70, my days of long distance drives are behind me, but this channel inspires me in a few ways…firstly, as already mentioned ……getting your short game honed is a big reason why you play well and secondly how you react to a bad shot is the way we should all do it. I now limit viewing golf channels to only a handful and yours is one I watch regularly - you are different and relatable - your sound bites to the camera crack me up as does the occasional excuse when you miss a putt(just like we all do). I’m still in awe at how far you can hit the ball with that swing, but you have certainly found a way…gives us all hope.
Another great video James. Despite the challenging start you pulled everything together perfectly. Honestly my favourite solo vlogger by a country mile.
I just love your videos mate - such a positive golfing attitude, showing that even when it doesn't go our way, we should keep plugging away. A good round as well.
Another nice round, I had exactly the same last week, out in 46 back in 38, on the front 9 I felt I was hitting the ball well but just couldn't score then on the back nine it all clicked...Funny ol' game!
I bought a tour edge 7 wood last week. My 1st shot with it was from 177 yds. and I stuck it to about 12'. Only used it 3 times but hit it very solid all three times. I am retiring my 3 wood and looking for a 5 wood.
James, I've enjoyed your videos very much, and this one was no exception. I do however wish you would try to incorporate the bump and run into your game. When you are near the green with no obstacles you should try an 8 or even a 7 iron with a quarter swing and a low trajectory to get close to the pin. Practice this shot for just a little while and you'll discover it is often the easiest way to get the job done. Best of luck, and thanks for the vids !
Your videos are such a treat, so enjoyable. You are right when you say golf is a funny old game. My local course is the Kaiapoi golf club here in Christchurch, NZ. Last week after 6 holes I was on 29 shots, heading for my course record, I then had a complete meltdown and ended up shooting 106. Room for improvement. Looking forward to your next video. Greg M.
Definitely the best back 9 i've seen in a bit, funny ol game indeed. 6 pars in a row must feel as good as it looked. Of course it makes you wonder what could have been with a few pars on the front. Dare i say you would have touched the 70's! Thought you were going to do 6 gulps of that pint, instead of 4. As always a pleasure to watch mate,,Keep at it.
@@notaperfectgolfer3489 you didn’t panic. You limited your errors (for the most part) and you got up and down when you had the chance on the back 9. Even on the front, you had some GREAT bogey saves that could have been really bad blow up holes.
James what loft is on your 7wood and 9wood.. I have a 7wood that I really like(favourite club in bag). It's 24° loft .. I only hit it about 175 - 180 flushed.. Seriously thinking of getting a 9wood
What app are you using to track your scoring/putts/greens in regulation/fairways hit, etc.? It looks like it would be helpful to determine what one needs to work on to improve their game.
Golfshot is the app I log each round I play even the practice ones off camera. I have all the stats for GIRs, fairways, putting etc.... My scrambing % is terrible when I look at it 👍👍👍
There are some potential drinking games on your videos James. I'm thinking every time you throw and catch the ball after a putt you take a shot. Really enjoying your videos mate. Keep them coming.
Are you sure you played this last month, in September ?? seems a lifetime ago when the sun was out and the fairways were running, a proper game of "two halves". Did you warm up hitting balls in the nets and putting some balls ?? Enjoyable watch, well played James.
12 pitching wedges into the nets and at least 10 mins on the putting green is my new standard warmup. I try to stick this religiously and it's working well. I got sunburnt this day but I don't think that is a possibility now until next year lol 👍👍👍
@@notaperfectgolfer3489 Thanks for getting back to me, sounds like a reasonable warm up considering the conditions, so just the "golfing gods" against you on the front 9 ! Still the good thing is you finished well, which is better than playing the front 9 o.k. and then blowing up on the back, that just leaves you deflated. Been there, got the tee shirt. Cheers.
have been watching your golf channel for quite a while now with interest, i myself have been a golfer for past 25 years and i a single digit handicap.what i have observed is you say only honest golf, but how did you get your handicap, was it self worked out or an official one where you give 3 score cards in and they work your average score to get your handicap.also i have noticed you play a lot of low slope rated courses which are very easy.you also said in one of your recent videos that you like playing flat courses so you can get a respectable score.is that really honest golf.you have also admitted on camera that if you have played bad you have not uploaded them to you tube.now to me that is not honest golf.may i suggest that you play on higher slope rated courses of say 140 or higher than the 112 rated with hardly any bunkers you have been playing.give yourself a challenge. your downfall is your putting.get better at putting and you would be a decent player. but don,t be kidding yourself with some of the crap you are telling us on how your game is getting better. i for one will not fall for it.i started playing golf when i was 45 years old i am now 70 years old. when i was 55 years old i got my handicap down to 5 which was through a private golf course that i joined locally.just as i came up to retirement age i was struck down with heart failure, also arthritis in both knees, 3 years ago had a heart attack, then a year after that had to have a pacemaker. but after all that i still play golf twice a week with the help of a small buggie i have had to buy to get me around the course.what i am trying to say is if you keep playing very easy courses, or you are just putting videos on you tube that you are happy with and won,t embarrass you, that is not HONEST GOLF you are kidding yourself and you will remain at the standard you are. good luck
Never been fitted. I'm 5'9 and standard length seems fine for me. I tried some Ping blue dot plus some cut down clubs this year and they were almost unplayable for me. I'm chopping and changing between iron sets right now but should probably just by a decent set of AP2s...
Golf is crazy,I once made 7 pars and still didn't break 100,every other hole was triple or worse. Never had a round like it before or since ,and I've never made 7 pars again either😅
Low key becoming my favorite golf channel. Just golf. Beautiful golf.
Agree - it's the best golf channel, captures the spirit of the game
With you on this

Cheers mate, I was very pleased with the score at the end. It could have been even better if not for the last hole but there's always next time! 👍👍👍
“You can see the clubhouse in the background, it’s a 22 footer”. Smallest clubhouse I’ve heard of, how does anyone get in? 😂
That’s a doghouse, not a clubhouse! 😂
I hear Ronnie Corbett was the only member 😄

Probably got a micro brewery nearby.

We played Denbigh a couple of times this season James, really enjoyed the course. Thanks for the video, keep up the good work.
Cheers mate, it's tighter than it looks on the front 9 especially! 👍👍
That was a very consistent round. Well played. Looks like your new clubs are keepers.
One of your best vlogs, certainly the best at Denbigh GC
The consistency of the ball striking and the improvement in that area is inspiring for us part timers. Well done
I love my 7 wood and use it very often. Hope you enjoy your new 7 wood. ⛳️
Congrats on a lovely back 9. 👍

Weather and course look great ! Settled down in the back 9 to a solid score.

A game of 2 halves. Well played James 👏👏
Good to see your game coming together again James. Some sensible club swap outs as well the 7 wood looked a real bargain.
Beautiful course, some real solid golf on the back nine, another great video!
Great video James. I really enjoy your rounds mate. No dramas !
Excellent video James, brilliant back 9!
Went out a 20 handicapper and back as a 5 handicapper. Your right James golf is a funny old game
Well done James. Nice looking course and that beer was well deserved. Definitely a game of two halves 😂😂😂
Nice course and what a lovely day, super back nine, I bet you enjoyed that pint. Great video.
Good course management skills shown here. Smarter not harder will always score better.

I remember in the early days you had more snowmen that Santa’s army, you’ve come a long way!
It's weird the new normal is breaking 90 nine times out of ten! 👍👍👍
That *was* a funny old game James. Well deserved beer after a storming back 9.
A Tail of 2 -9s, great job keeping your head in the game James!
That 7 & 9 woods are your new best friends. Golf sidekick would be proud
James is a playa, whattaguy
What a run of pars - Well played.
excellent round James well done Cheers
The tee shot on the 7th hole - what a great swing. confident-looking
Cheers, that one was like clockwork. Playing 3 times a week helps so much with consistency 👍👍👍
Great resilience. Your chipping game really came through.
Cheers Bruce, I was happy with the score at the end but after 9 holes I was wondering what I did wrong? That's golf it's a crazy game! :)

Looked a beautiful sunny day - very scenic course.
I got sunburnt again not for the first time this summer 👍👍👍
Nice round James! Back 9 putting! I wish I could hit a 7 wood. Cheers
Great effort!
Great round 👍🏼⛳️
Great video James!
7 wood 9 wood hybrids the clubs most golfers should use! Great back 9!
Loft is your friend especially at the mid to high handicap range. I should have ditched the 5 iron and 4 wood sooner! 👍👍👍
Great video
Greetings from Belgium
Cheers man, I always enjoy my rounds at Denbigh Golf Club 👍👍👍
Playin there this Saturday afternoon
Chipping was incredible today. I may have to try a 7 wood!
You won't regret it 👍👍👍
Great round of golf. Always enjoy watching you enjoy a big swallow of beer after the round.
It was all the sweeter managing to play under my handicap 👍👍👍
Front nine, nowt right, back nine, everything right, good round👍🍺🍺
Well played on the back there James 👏🏼 Bit more oomph in some of those putts and it would have been even better 👍🏼
What clubs do you play with. Maybe do a what's in my bag video?

21° for the 7 wood and 25.5° for the 9 wood. They are sooooooooo easy to hit 👍👍👍
Nice recovery on the back 9. If you could improve your chipping around the green I think your handicap would get into single digits 👍
I agree 100% and am working on it 👍👍👍

Damn this course is tough over the first few holes, so tight!
If you fade the ball you are screwed on the opening hole lol 👍👍👍
Nice course
Front nine was a tale of missed opportunities. Glad you managed to stay cheerful!
Well done James l will get my self a 7 wood aswell
I also picked up backup 7 & 9 woods on ebay they go for cheap on the auctions 👍👍👍
great video

Hey James Louis from Massachusetts 17.1 handicap do you use a specific ball or what you find on the courses?
I play the Srixon Soft Feel ball. It is great off the tee, chipping & putting. Highly recommended 👍👍👍
Surely a shoo-in for next year's Creator Classic.
Brilliant really enjoy watching your channel, real golf 👍
Yet another nice round. This time you played in a tree farm. Still beautiful, but tough.
hi James have you ever been fitted for clubs? or are you happy with what you have

same height as me James I use Ping but black spot g340,s I'm OK with them. Az are they Titliest?

Just being out there is winning IMO 👍👍👍
That 7 wood goes almost as far as your driver. Nice club..
£31 well spent 👍👍👍
Kevin Na sighting @ 14:49
Always amazes me how far you hit it, with such a short backswing and no wrist cock ?👍
Chipping was the highlight today with Shot Of The Round being the Chip on 13th (you can't practice for these shots !)
I think that was out of an old bunker that grassed over 👍👍👍
16 good holes.. I always count bogie or better as an OK hole... I thought you played well on front 9. Just didn't hole any putts
I think that 7 wood erc may be a non- conforming club. excessive CoR. MY BAD JUST CHECKED AND ITS OK. JUST TGE DRIVER THATS ILLEGAL
That's a single digit handicap short game!
Great golf! Thank you!
Always good viewing James, really enjoy your videos. Loved the 7 wood and the long par 3, brilliant par
My longest ever approach to get a GIR 👍👍👍
6 pars in a row is excellent and well done, what a rebound after the first 9. Great mental force and positivity
There is no way you hit a 7 wood the way you did on the 5th and had 185 to the pin.
Great video James, played Denbigh a few times. Sadly not in weather that good ⛳️
