One thing I like about their first kiss is how loud the background is before when callum is panicking and ben is stressed and then when they come together for the first time it instantly just becomes silent. Peaceful

1:24 The actor who plays Ben communicates SO MUCH with just his face… the dawning realisation… the penny 🪙 dropping… smelling deeply, drinking in the queerness like the most delicious, familiar fragrance. Recognition.
Aww, that moment when Callum was holding Ben, and neither of them wanted to stop staring into each others eyes..
WOW! This last scene is soooo powerful. It's an example of one of those rare moments in film/ TV when everything comes together perfectly ... a top class and dramatic story line, excellent script-writing and direction, and two extremely handsome men/ attractive characters at the height of their powers as actors. All three elements combine to reveal to us a truly magical moment in life, and we know their lives can never be the same again. All credit to Max Bowden (Ben) and Tony Clay (Callum) for their superb acting ... they take the dialogue they have been given and with tone, body and gesture take it to another level. This is what 'chemistry' is all about.
I will always remember Ben saying “oooohhh I smell queer” every time I hear that I can’t stop laughing 😂

I love watching Robrob in Emmerdale and the progression of their relationship. Tho it got to the point that everything was so “normal” and going great, something had to happen, if Ryan hadn’t left something else woulda have.
But watching Max and Tony, before and after Callum came out, the concern the characters have for each other, the caring for becoming love, even the lust between them, always seems so genuine. Plus, Ben believing Callum is way to good for him, but Callum accepting exactly who Ben is, with all the good and bad xxxx

I’d love it if they just got their own series and we’d get to see more of them, I’d watch that in a heartbeat! (I don’t watch the show, just the clips online)
I already came up with a series: Ballum. The last episode they do on Eastenders they drive away from the town and people that keep tearing them apart. Imagine, showing the back of the car driving away with Callum driving and Ben's head resting on his shoulder. ( Callum's a copper now, so he can get hired anywhere in a heartbeat.) The new show would be a comedy/drama with a supporting cast of interesting and wacky characters. And yes, after Eastenders shamelessly offs Lola, Lexi(Ben's daughter) willbe sent to live with Ben and Callum. The Ballum characters will be developed even more within the new series. That's for starters. Lo!

And that beautiful moment in the end, that lovely great first kiss. Honestly, have seen thousands of gay couples so far on assorted shows, but this one, of all, makes complete sense to me. Plus, that British accent..always a lavish treat, ain't it?! I love Callum's seductive face..he got that pretty face haan!

Being gay myself. I was quite gutted when Ryan Hawley quit Emmerdale. I'm pleased Max Bowden and Tony Clay doing the similar scenes.
tbh the chemistry between Ryan Hawley and Danny was quite bad especially when it came to the making out...like they wouldn't kiss properly Ryan Hawley especially seemed kinda grossed out by it and you could kinda tell they were not selling it very well...But ballum do a fantastic job of selling it and you dont sense any unease...and this is coming from a gay man too.
Mohammad Yew Tbh I don't agree, most of their kisser were proper open-mouthed kisses. And their chemistry especially in the affair era was off the charts
Dary Markova in the beginning their kisses were good but towards the end their kisses wee lame. Practically chin kissing. Just pressing lips, no movement. The best kiss I’ve seen is Travis and Emmett on Station 19.
@@darymarkova I went back to have a look and alas their kisses were always bad. Missing each others mouths and they always seemed to be grimacing. Honestly, pandemic Ballum is like watching any era Robron except they're still managing to sell the affection whilst being made to stand 2 metres apart.

Yes, I picked that up too ... I reckon the writers put that in specifically as a reference to what Ben said earlier. What I really liked was the changing look on Ben's face as he hears Callum say he feels lonely. Ben tilts his head slightly to one side as it sinks in what Callum is revealing. Ben (Max Bowden) is a great actor and shows us so much with just the look on his face, and then the awesome gesture as he lovingly puts his hand up to stroke Callum's cheek and gently pulls him forward for their first kiss. I think up until this point Ben wasn't 100% sure whether Callum liked him - because Callum had been trying to push him away - but now he's left in no doubt! CXheers!

How long is it between them first meeting and the first kiss? This is the longest 'tease' since....like 'Who shot JR' on Dallas! 3. Does 'Ben' only own 1 black leather jacket??? He ever wear anything else? (WE are 12 YEARS behind the times in the USA on EE broadcasts, so Ben is still about 13y. It is 2007 January, Kevin Wicks just died!) So....this will be seen here when i am......dead!!
