Kronos Quartet hosts its annual hometown festival, showcasing pieces from Kronos Fifty for the Future. Drawing on Kronos’ five decades of cultivating new works and collaborating with composers from around the world, this repertoire acts as a roadmap to musical exploration, inviting musicians of all ages to step into Kronos’ shoes-and to continue pushing the boundaries of what a string quartet can be.
In six events over three days, this year’s Kronos Festival features performances by three guest quartets-Aizuri Quartet, Attacca Quartet, and Friction Quartet-and appearances by composer/instrumentalists Rafiq Bhatia, Soo Yeon Lyuh, and Victoria Shen.
