- Welcome to our first-time watching as we react to Terrifier 2 (2022).
Terrifier 2 is a 2022 American supernatural slasher film[2][6][7] written, edited, and directed by Damien Leone. It is the sequel to Terrifier (2016) and the second installment in the Terrifier film series. It includes the return of David Howard Thornton and Samantha Scaffidi, who portrayed Art the Clown and Victoria Heyes, respectively, in the first film, and stars Lauren LaVera, Elliott Fullam, Sarah Voigt, Kailey Hyman, and Casey Hartnett. The plot follows Art's resurrection and pursuit on Halloween night of teenage Sienna Shaw (LaVera), who discovers that she is destined to defeat him.
Damien Leone just continues to outdo his previous work! This film was a spectacle. His work in the practical effects department is truly inspiring.

It's implied that in the first movie, Art was just a regular mortal clown until the Pale Girl resurrected him at the end of that movie and made him immortal as well as the ability to keep his victims alive while he's killing them to prolong their suffering
When and where is that implied? Especially the mystical pain tolerance part. I'm not doubting you. I'm assuming I missed it. So help me out, yeah? Please?

I remember it being more clearly stated in terrifier 3. Jonathan did some research after the events of 2 and told Sienna that in order for a demon to enter our world it has to find a vessel. Not just anyone tho. Someone who possesses the worst kind of evil.

As soon as I saw T2, Sienna went right to my list of Top 5 Final Girls! Lauren Lavern is actually amazing. She acts her ass off in 3.

The whole dream sequence in the beginning according to the director was a test for Sienna to see if she was worthy. Some "good" Entity apparently chose her to be Art's Counterpart on Earth. To defeat him and the evil Demonic Pale Girl demon entity.
Also, Art had no clue he would come back after his death in the first movie. The Pale Girl resurrected Art and bestowed supernatural abilities like increased durability, strength, and this terrifying ability to keep his victims alive and conscious till he's finished. There is hints of that in the halloween store clerk's death. Shown with Allie's death. Confirmed with Brooke's death near the end with her still beating heart.

I'm glad you said all of the actors nailed it. I've seen some comments about how nobody would react in this and that way.. look, when someone is on molly, they will act this way. When a single mom is being pushed over the edge, she will act this way. When someone sees a relative being mutilated, they might act this way. I thought the acting was on point and the people who critisezed the acting might not have been around a lot of different people. I'm glad they took a really human approach with this one. Don't yell that they should've run. They might be absolutely terrified and surprised that there's a clown in your house that just scalped your doughter. I mean... Fight, flight or freeze.
Hard agree. My biggest annoyance is people talking crap about Ally's mums reaction. She walks in and finds her daughter like that and you literally see her mind collapse.
@danielshaw8648 Yes, some people would be so overwhelmed by the terror and disbelief, that they just freeze. The brain litterally almost shuts down by the overload.
Fun fact: when they were shooting the laundrymat scrne, someone noticed him walking down the street and called 911 and reported it. He almost got arrested until the cops understood what was going on lol

Lauren Lavera is terrific as Sienna…she’s already established herself as one of the final girl greats as far as I’m concerned.
We got ourselves another iconic final girl and an incredible slasher icon. So freakin cool!

Also in one interview David said how funny it was to shoot laundry scene - someone called cops because they've seen creepy clown in blood walking there. And David, covered by newspaper only, and team had to explain to cops that no one was killed and it's just a movie 😅

Lauren LaVera who plays Sienna is so good in this movie, but in Terrifier 3 she is amazing. You really feel all of her emotions in that movie. Can't wait for your reaction to Terrifier 3.
This series just gets more and more eerie than the last one 😂 I watched the 3rd movie in theatres and it’s safe to say I haven’t recovered 😭
Ps. Fun fact, the second movie had a higher budget due to the crowdfunding (over $200k) they raised that’s why the shots and quality of camera work is so much better than the first.

It takes immaculate acting skills to pull off a character like Art.

We had the cast of Terrifier and Terrifier 2 here at Scarefest last year in Lexington Ky. All of them were very nice people and very talkative.

Yeah this one was so much better than the first in my opinion. Going all out with the crazy story this time was very needed and Lauren as Sienna is great. I do like 2 the most, but a lot of people have 3 as their top and I did like it too. I just like 2 a little bit more. Definitely worth checking out, but the depravity and gore does go up.
31:54 if y'll confused or wondering why Allie is still alive even though Art already killed or killing her in a brutally way, Art has a unique power that can keep his victim alive as long as he wants and as long as he's still playing with the victim, his power to keep his victims alive because to make them more suffer and feel the pain.

This is how ya make strong women character in a movie that everyone can be in favour of,not invincible/unbelievable BS but being damaged and going through alot of trauma makes them strong imo
I appreciate the terrifier series for not spoon feeding the lore, they seem to like when the fans build the world. I personally believe that art was mortal in the 1st one, but the demon/girl spirit was enthralled with his blood lust, she gave him life again as an undead clown with the ability to prolong his victims deaths and make their torture last longer
Love my girl Felissa Rose's cameo as the teacher. She comes to Scarefest every year here in Lexington Ky.
I always look forward to you two breaking down your thoughts on your films, both while you're watching it and after it's done. I think there was a "yin-yang" motif in Art's revival and Sienna's revival in the tank. I think how they are each other's opposites was nicely understated.

I think the Terrifier series is hilarious in my opinion. I think that is why they were so successful, because they didn't take themselves seriously. If they tried to make it actually scary it would just be cringey.
The first movie made me too scared sleep. This one made me too scared to turn my lights off 😭😭

David Howard Thornton completely steals the show in this sequel as Art The Clown. He has nothing to envy to iconic actors and roles such as Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger), Brad Dourif (Charles Lee Ray/Chucky), Tobin Bell (John Kramer/Jigsaw), Gunnar Milton Hansen (OG Leatherface The Texas Chain Saw Massacre 1974), James Jude Courtney (Halloween's Michael Myers) and Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th's Jason Vooehees). This character has already earned his well-deserved place alongside with his fellow movie serial killers. 🤡🔪🔫

my theory is that art the clown is a persona their dad took and he knew he coudnt fully control it so he made that sword to keep his kids safe when he loses control so after the 1st film he doesnt have full control when he comes back to life but there is still some parts of him in there as he had so many chances to kill them but he didnt

Bedroom scene was the squeamish moment for me in this one(first movie had the "split"scene or Victoria "losing face"). If I had a second, it would probably be the bubbling from the acid("Do not throw in face").

As for the Terrifier saga, as you will see, they are a marvel of practical effects and we must congratulate David Howard Thornton for everything he does at a gestural level behind the makeup.

I always knew Art was a little salty.
The best part of the bed room scene to me. And what makes it so funny to me, is art doesn’t even know what he’s capable of yet at this point. So he’s just fucking with this girl and taking all his adrenaline and energy out on it. And then when her mom gets home and it turns out she still has a sign of life in her. It completely shocks him, you see it. He just starts pointing and laughing like, “she’s still alive! I just did this and I don’t even know how but look at your daughter, HA HA!!!”

YEP!! You guys are right, they survived this time. Then thats where the 3rd film comes in. I love it cause think about it, the first one was more along th lines of "Just Cause", "Art Does It Cause Thats His Thing, He Likes To Tortire People". Heres 2 where its more of a peraonal thing for Art now (Not Condoning His Killing Spree😂) is he gets treated like shit in this one so its more personal now with each person that "Disrespects" him.

I do not know where it came from that Art has the power to keep his victims alive but Damien Leone did say he is just a regular guy (if you consider serial killer regular guy) who has no supernatural abilities and fully expected to stay dead after pulling the trigger in the first film until the girl resurrects him.

So just in case you don't know the director has confirmed that Art the clown has a supernatural type power or ability that allows him to keep his victims alive Long enough so they can feel all the Pain he's inflicting on them.

It's not that complicaited really basically ART was revived by the demon child who took the form of a murder victim to make him feel like she is famillier to him. That is why ART was confused that he was still alive in the beginning and also confused when the girl showed up it was a what the hell type of thing for him. ART was chosen by the demon to be the champion of Hell and Sienna was chosen as the champion of Heaven. When she pulled the blade out of the box in her dream and faced ART it was blessed and so was she...they just went a bit over the top and burned her angel wings too oops. The reason that Sienna was able to be revived is because like the legends of the Valkri in the Norse mythos you can not kill them with their own blade it only makes them stronger and that is what happened when he stabbed Sienna with her own blessed blade. The demon posessed Viki and made her bring ART back into the world so that he could keep being Hell's champion and bringer of pain and chaos too. The reason Johnathan can see the demon girl is because like his father who was a Seer he can see things that most can't.
Fun fact: The guy talking about Art Crispy’s in the Clown Cafe is David Howard Thornton who plays Art the Clown.
Also Terrifier 3 answers SOME questions but there’s still a lot to be answered. Also, after diving into some lore videos, Sienna can’t be hurt by her own sword. And I put Sienna up there with the very best of the “Final Girls”.

the director has confirmed that art’s so-called “superpower” is that he can keep his victims alive for as long as possible to maximize their suffering. it’s basically a more horrific version of toy story: you get to rest when HE is done with you.
The power I like about art is that he had a power where he can keep his victims alive long enough to feel torture and not die right away that’s why some deaths doesn’t make sense💀☠️
