The overtime throw w Gabe was the same play or at least very very similar to the touchdown in the Chiefs divisional loss in 2021 with 1:50 or so left. Gabe smoked the Chiefs DB so badly that the guy tripped and fell. Gabe faked hard to the outside then cut hard inside toward the post. Wide open. It looks like Josh was expecting this same movement from Gabe. Not sure what the DB leverage was on the Chiefs game throw but the DB has his back to the inside here trailing Gabe and mimicking his movement. Gabe hard faking to the corner then immediately breaking hard back to the post could’ve easily left him wide open. Whatever the issue was between them, it’s just inexcusable that these two are not on the same page almost 4 years playing together now. They had better chemistry Gabe’s rookie year. Gabe makes a lot of mental errors and definitely started dropping more passes after his rookie, often back breaking drops. He still occasionally makes great catches, but he’s nowhere near consistent enough as a WR2 and stuff like this is a big reason why the Bills are 6-6. 4-5 of Josh’s INTs this year are miscommunication with Gabe/Gabe running a lazy, telegraphed route usually to the corner. So obvious and rounded that the safety can break on it easily. And another INT was a Gabe drop right through his hands on a perfect pass against the Broncos. Putting every other variable aside, if the Bills have a smarter, more consistent WR2 who runs crisper routes, they’re probably 8-4 at worst right now maybe even 9-3.

They ran it plenty with the RBs (26 carries) and moved it all day through the air where the Philly defense is much more vulnerable. They are a great run defense, hence the RBs only getting barely 3.0 YPC. Add in Josh's rushing and it was perfectly balanced. Brady is doing a marvelous job so far.

@qbschool: why do you think the national media downplays the greatness of Allen? To me, even with his mistakes, hes still the most talented player in the league. He simply is a package of weapons that no other player has. A guy that has been producing the most TD since 2020 and is almost 1st in total yards. A guy that is the highest percentage of his teams total TD (80%) year in and out. Leading fantasy every year showing individual production. He is the offense. Diggs is his only legit WR that can separate. Kincaid has been great, but he's a rookie. Allen does WAY more heavy lifting on offense than any QB in the league. He's top 2 full stop and constantly undermined by his mediocre head coach and his eternally unclutch defense. You put him on the Bengals the past two seasons and they have 2 SB titles.
No it's the shit all DEFENSE who can't make a stop @ end of games. If it was Burrow or Mahomes or even Hurts the narrative would be different. Allen made 1 bad decision on the pick. Who cares . Cook dropped perfect pass for TD. Bass missed a FG and another blocked. Allen took lead with 1:52 left and DEFENSE failed to get stop. Allen took team down field and Bills took FG lead in OT. THEN DEFENSE FAILED AGAIN and let Philly walk down field. Hurts has 2 turnovers also. McDermott is wasting Allen's prime and it's criminal. Heads should have rolled with 13 seconds debacle (KC playoff game). But there was no accountability then. 2 years later and countless more big coaching errors in big moments.
No it's the defense not holding up at the end. Josh got the lead back like he always does at the end of the game and the defense couldn't get a stop in regulation and couldn't get a stop in overtime. That has happened 3 times other times this year. The defense plays well early but can't get a stop when needed to seal the win
Its the most injured defense in the league holding thrm back, its not josh
