@Stephen Weston If people look back more than 50 years on monotone, idea-less shitholes like Cambridge and Paris and consider them architectural masterpieces, then you can be sure as hell that Hadid's work will be looked back on with nothing but fondness and awe.

While others tried to dictate what architecture is, Zaha ' broke the rules ' and in a way set us free.

Love Vladislav Doronin’s residence house in the forest build by her project. Remember back in 2009 when we moved to our new office in Moscow City’s Capital City, there was a sketch of this project. It attracted a lot of attention and it was hard to believe it will ever be build without significant changes. Now the project is finished and it looks even more irregular and futuristic surrounded by real forest.

Zaha Hadid was truly a brilliant visionary, and my favorite architect of all time. One of my favorites is Leeza SOHO which at first seems deceptively simple but upon closer inspection is truly a remarkably inspired and elegant project.

Zaha Hadid is amazing. she had done a building project in my country, malta, and it's coming amazing even tho it's still in construction, there are images of how it's going to be and I'm stunned.it's so futuristic and modern and I also like the name, mercury towers

I saw an exhibition of her models and drawings for various built and proposed projects at the Guggenheim (took up the entirety of the spiral ramp). In a smaller gallery was an exhibition of drawings and early works of Jackson Pollock... two innovative people in their fields in one museum, it was quite a fascinating day at the museum.
She also pushed the boundaries of engineering and what building materials could do.

She is iraqi..so y’all westerners need to chill when yall say “no one cares about nationality” lmao if she was french or american you would have to mention she’s french or American but when its iraq “no one cates about nationality” no,everyone cares about nationality but because she’s iraqi no one wants to claim her nationality

    • @dcrikki7367

Michiko malandro. So true! Well said. It’s as if prejudiced people would rather NOT know that Zaha Hadid is from a troubled country than admit that their prejudices are unfair and irrational or that they should soften their negative stereotypes towards people from troubled countries. As if we’d CHOSEN our nationality to begin with! Also, some people just consider themselves to be so important as to say nationality doesn’t matter when it’s a nationality that doesn’t matter TO THEM.
I’m originally Panamanian. When I lived in Brazil as a foreign exchange student years ago, that very same thing happened to me. People there were so racist towards their Spanish-speaking neighbors that after a while I stopped telling anyone who asked where I was from or why I spoke Portuguese with an accent. Instead, I’d respond that I’m no longer comfortable discussing my native country or culture because of so much prejudice and discrimination. You can also make it a point to suddenly stop yourself from mentioning your native country or culture around haters. Feel free to throw in a “Sorry. I almost talked about my native culture.” That’ll call attention to and expose the biased way with which they treated you when asked why you won’t discuss your origins. It’s a pretty irresistible observation for most if not everyone to ignore.
