- on March 7, 1949, NBC's radio show 'This Is Your Life' did a half-hour episode on Audie Murphy. Host Ralph Edwards interviewed Murphy about his early life, his WWII service, and post-war plans.

It must have been horrible for him to remember it all over again. His voice sounds very sad... I absolutely love watching him on his movies....
One item on my bucket list is to visit Audie's crash site in the VA outside Roanoke. I had this thing for him all through my life. 🇺🇲❤️
I’m very excited for your short-film “Reveille” please keep us updated on such a giant project.
I certainly will! Thanks very much!
Make more of army stop motion
This is an amazing find, Michael! I was going to listen to a few minutes of it, but the storytelling was so well done I had to listen to the whole thing. Audie's words and mannerisms in the broadcast really hit close to home with me, since many of the veterans in my family and beyond acted in a similar fashion when they were willing to talk about their experiences. Your additional details adding historical context, photos, and illustrations was also really great. It really gives the radio broadcast a deeper sense of realism and immediate familiarity for those who may not be as familiar with the time period. It's clear to me that this is a real passion of yours, and I always admire artistic and historical commitment like that. Truly well done, Michael.
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed and appreciated this piece of history.
@@Theakker3B thank you for telling me when you messaged me on YT I actually have not seen saving private Ryan.
Fabulous!! Thank you!
i really miss your videos
We will always honor Audie Murphy.
This is really something else, thank you for this.
Wow this is an awsome interview. Nice job finding it.
hey michael, i am such a huge fan of yours and i remember watching the top 10 ww2 movies videos of yours from so many years ago when i was just a little kid and you truly ignited a passion inside me for world war history. i was wondering if there’s any chance you still have those videos or if i could find them somewhere. i’ve watched all those movies before and love the list but i just want to hear that commentary of the movies again cuz i remember i loved it so much. i’m so happy to see you back on this account tho :)
Audie was the guy every one would have loved to be. But did not have the guts.
I hope you make more toy army men animation you were the reason why I started collecting toy army men!
Hey Michael Akkerman are you planning to do other more historic films soon? (Your videos are interesting BTW)
Thank you, and yeah for the most part. My latest film project needs to be very historically accurate, so a lot of research is going into it.
Good job
Love it
I'm disgusted how they used Audie Murphy as a promotional tool in this Radio Broadcast...he had to leave the room when Lattie Tipton's daughter was rolled out...yes, that German K98k top turret sniper rifle is in the Cotton Museum in Greenville Texas...use your GPS or you will miss the driveway going to the museum...I have some very close ups of the rifle from not 6 inches away from it...they even have his boyhood .22 rifle on display...I've visited that museum on 2 or more occasions when I was in Texas...traveling I-30 back to Arkansas...
In this video Murphy sounds like he trying to be happy but can’t because of the war and When Murphy got up and left because of his dead friend daughter come in it show what war does to men all in all I said great video great information can’t wait for your movie (sorry forgot how to spell the movie name) and thank for the great video
I love the hell and back
I hope you’re doing well with reveille
Just curious, but what would you do if your fundraiser doesn’t reach its funding goal? Since it looks like it definitely won’t reach the goal.
Why do you say that?
I was just curious what you’d do if you didn’t raise enough, like what would happen to the project, would it be put away for another time? would it still get made? I was just wondering what would happen to it, because this film sounds really cool and I’d really like to see it, and it looks like the fundraiser won’t reach its goal. I just wondered what would happen to the film.
@@bryan3754 No, I will get the money no matter what. It will reach its goal. You don't know what is going on behind the scenes haha.
@@Theakker3B okay, I didn’t know already had other things lined up to fund this project.
@@bryan3754 But any support helps.
Yea another story

Plastic army man update?😂
This has nothing to do with plastic army men. I'm not making those anymore. I am working on Reveille now.
@@Theakker3B hey! if your not going to make anymore plastic Apocalypse films are you going to sell you army men? I’m willing to buy your whole collection for 1.5k USD, or we can negotiate a deal.
