Appreciate the comment🙂. That's our goal to make it as simple and straight forward. Let us know if there are other tutorials you might want. What you busy making with KiCad?
I had to fuss around a bit to get the footprint actually updated on my board after the changing my library symbol to include the footprint with the added step file. For some reason deleting and re-adding the component on my board did not bring in the updates. I had to select the symbol in my schematic and do Update Symbol from Library. (The forward annotation behavior in KiCad is still not 100% clear to me - maybe there was some caching going on?) I'm using KiCad 6.0, since I just started using this tool. It's quite amazing! Thanks for you video. This was very helpful and I appreciate it!
Hi 👋. What component would you like to have? Most PCB components are generic for example SOT, MSOP ect... so if the manufacturer does not give it. You can perhaps go to GrabCad and download a generic one. If it's a special footprint you can try creat it in Fusion 360🙂. Let me know if this help👍
@@PlumPot also, the TI op amp TLV9001IDPWR. KiCAD has something similar, the TLV9001IDCK, but that comes in a SC-70-5 / SOT-353 & the one I'm using is in the X2SON package. Or is there another way?
@@PlumPot also, I'd like to design with components of the package size: 009005 (imperial) & 008004 (imperial). Seems like KiCAD doesn't have those yet.
Have to tried to look at SnapEDA? They sometimes have the footprints you want. So the only issues you have is the 3D parts or the footprint itself as well? Those are very small footprints are you going to get this populated by manufacturers? What's the reason for so small? Do you need the space. We can maybe chat on Email or Discord, will be easier to help :)
Hi, Hope you are fine Just reminds you ,make another video on HX711 Footprint ,in your part 1 pitch is same but length and width of ic both are different , waiting for you response , hope you guys make a video or if it is already available then share its link cause i cant find
@@PlumPot 09.KiCad Tutorial - Create a Schematic Symbol in Kicad i understand how to create symbol from this tutorial but in this tutorial footprint is directly pick from library already installed ,wants to know how to create our own footprint of exact dimensions
Wow, I really thought we had a video on how to create a footprint, I will make one tonight 😊. Thanks for letting me know. Any specific one you would like me to make on the Tutorial?
I followed the tutorial, but now it only attached to 1 of the four footprint instances on the pcb. Is this supposed to happen? (And if so, how should I attach it to every instance in one go?)
I was very much expecting there to be an auto script considering most places ship all 3 parts... Seems ripe for automation, and maybe that already exists and I've just not seen it yet, because thus far it seems painful if there are a lot of components.
Nice and simple. Thanks a lot !
Glad you found it usefull🙂. You welcome🙂
Very helpful, thanks!
Thank you, especially about selecting the line for the STP file before adjusting the rotation and offsets. Just what I was looking for.
You're a natural teacher! Great stuff! Really quick and simple, thanks.
Great work 🎉❤
Thank you, you just saved me hours of work.
Haha got to love when that happens🙂. Let us know if you need any other tutorials
Thank you for this easy explanation
I do appreciate your tutorials and find them very helpful. keep up the good work and thanks.
Thanks for this great tutorial! You now have another subscriber.
Thanks Paul Appreciate the comment🙏
thanks.. its crystal clear! short and sweet video..
Glad it was helpful :)
Right to the point with proper info !! . Subscribed . Thanks

Good information,thanks PlumPot
Very good mam

this video really help me a lot
i am stuck with 2.54mm headers
Hi Rupantar, what you mean stuck? 2.54mm step file for the headers?
So gooood
Useful. Thanks.
very Helpful
Parabéns, muito bem explicado!
Nice
thank you! but I do need to make sure they don't solder the MCU, because I can't see if I rotated it correctly or not :(
Thank's! How to add step model to all same elements?
Hi, what do you mean? step file that it is always part of the library?
@@PlumPot there is a board where the elements are without a model. How to add a model to all elements at once?
@@PITON369 Do create the library component with embedded step file
nice video. But what if we want to use the 3d step file to generate the footprint ?
❤
Hi madam very good video, like much
Ahh thank you very much :)
And if the manufacturer hasn't made a 3D model or step file available? How do I create one from the drawing(s) in their datasheet ?

@@PlumPot hi. Thanks. Mfg p/n:
NC7SP14L6X (On Semiconductor) is one. I only have FreeCAD and don't know how to use it yet

Which version of Step file can you use? I have found "STEP AP203" and "STEP AP214" for download.
Hi Richard, use AP214. I think both will work, I just find AP214 more reliable and better looking🙂

Hi im good and yourself? You will have to remind us, what part 1? Would you like us to make a footprint for the HX711? Sorry memory is bad😅

I did not complete the board, this is not a full explanation
but how the fuck do you add the 3D model to an existing footprint when having 100 of them on the pcb ?
Do create the library component (footprint) with an embedded step file
Hi, did you find a way to do it? And if so, can you give me a hint on how you did it?
