Yeahman. Used to drink and play pool in the Surrey View Tavern and the King John back in the day. Some good kind people look out for me when I was in need.
The only thing I miss about those days is there seemed to be more togetherness, otherwise, I don't miss those days at all. Life is far far from perfect now but it was worse in a lot of respects back then and going further back. The things some of those police and people in positions of power blatantly got away with doing back then waa ridiculous.... at least now there's a little more scrutiny... harder for them to get up to their nonsense even though some still try.
There was definitely a greater sense of unity back then, but its true what you say about those who were in positions of power. They got away with too much.
Hard- living breeds stronger camaraderie. We all had nothing, we were in a foreign land, we lived in squalid conditions, so there was no stunting, or haughtiness- that led to that community feeling. These times bred stronger humans, so I’m glad I lived through it TBH
Big up Dr Aboo and the galaxy family since 1984.... no matter how wzungu tried to shut down galaxy radio, they couldn't demolish it, like they did to the north peckham estate.
Kids now think they're block looks rough, they don't know what we went through in the old South London.
Miss these days . Nostalgia. 30 years ago, the good old days. Respect for the upload. Big up yourself. 👊🏾💯💯👊🏾

Year I was born Gloucester estate 1992!
Not sure how many people with fair skin felt privileged to grow up in the same poverty in the same area?
This was when they were filming We The Raggamuffin.
Is this a voice-over from the 90s or is it a recent voice-over? Good upload either way.

Talking about white privilege in a white country 😂😂, sounds surreal,
I wonder what it meant for all the poor white kids living on that very same estate in absolute poverty!? Highly insensitive.
