I never ever read non-fiction or biography, but My Father and Myself sounds like something I would really like and enjoy. Adding to my wishlist lol

I read Practical Demonkeeping last year and I agree with your assessment. I’m glad there’s another Christopher Moore fan on BookTube. Fluke is my absolute favorite by him and I’ve read it every year in January for like the last four or five years. I hope to get to the second Pine Cove book some time this year.

Dogs are better than people. Yep, with few exceptions for everyone this is true.

Just ordered The Strays. I live in Melbourne and the Government here just doubled the cost of Arts degrees yesterday much to my 17 year old daughter’s horror. I need to read about the importance of Art.

That is TERRIBLE news. It's hard enough parlaying an arts degree into a career, now it's even harder when you're twice in the hole to start out. Ugh. Sorry to hear that, Tracey.

Getting through all those NYRBs eh... this one sounds good. I laughed at "bulbous". Rude!!
    Awaiting the YA review.... 👀👀👀

Hilarious: the book I talked the least about, and pretty vaguely while I was at it. But yes! It's so good!

Lee Kempter Yep, there are. They were believed extinct for much of the 20th century. Do a little google, it’s interesting!

I gotta tell you, I forget most of the details of the books I read almost as soon as I read them, and I seriously don't remember English Passengers having twenty different POVs. I'm so sorry I put you through that, but I'm glad it had a good outcome. I was definitely sweating that out.
The Strays was such a beautiful book, I'm glad you loved it so much!
I'm 35 pages into Skippy Dies and it's all, slowly, coming back. I think we'll be fine. 😂

The 20 POVs isn't **as** crazy as it sounds. And it's actually 21 apparently LOL. Many of these are one offs in letters and things like that. But yeah, took some getting used to. Well worth it though! Again, thanks so much for the rec.

I've read exactly ZERO of these books, haha. Which means it's a great recommendation list. Thanks, Jacqueline! Do you have a favourite from this year yet?
