You rented a Lamborghini for a day and never went over 35mph. Not an insult at all, like you said, this guitar is not something you would naturally gravitate towards. Thank you for reviewing this guitar, just bought the same model. Keep up the good work💪.
I really feel like an RG is so well made that it can be used for many styles. Most people would used it for ear-splitting, bowel-rumbling. pants-exploding METALLLLLLLL. Just as nice for clean or lightly fuzzy tones too. :) Love this example. Beautiful finish. :) Great video.
Great video TGG. I really enjoyed seeing an Ibanez guitar being loved from the perspective of a non-Ibanez player. And yes, I made it all the way to the end. After all, you did as for that to be mentioned here 😉
I have a 653AHM-NGB that is phenomenal, congrats! The quality of the Prestige guitars are amazing! Like you most of my guitars have thicker necks etc... but play that a bunch and you will fall in love with that neck! IMHO the original Edge bridge is the best floating trem bar none.
From Leo: Brown Joy is not my style either, but it looks like it is very well executed. For $1600 street price they should be able to pay attention to details. I wish everyone would. I have found a fondness for the very slim necks like the ibanez wizard. When I play a long set, I take one slim neck guitar and one chunky neck guitar and switch off. It seems to keep my hand from cramping up. Good job!
Brown Joy! 👍 I recently picked up an Ibanez (RGA) which is something I never imagined owning, but loving how incredibly light and comfortable it is. Same thing I thought I'd hate the wizard neck but no - super comfortable. Not sure I could handle that whammy though and every time I've tried to play a guitar with a locking nut I hit it with my paw and it makes me grumpy.
Nice playing! What is that thing you had wrapped around the neck near the headstock? At one point was past the nut, at another looked like you actually had it over the first fret. Also, speaking of Brian May influences, I see a BMG behind you there. Have you ever reviewed or demo’d it?
Hey man it’s this and it mutes the open strings so they don’t ring out when you play up the neck. Basically gives a cleaner performance thomann.de/gb/gruvgear_fretwrap_hd_lg.htm?offid=1&affid=288
Yeah. 7 & 8 string players like them because the vibrations of the bass strings cause the treble strings have to make a ringing sound. It stops that. Once you've played a 7 or 8 string, you can then hear it on 6 string guitars. People that tap a lot like them. Also bass players (mostly slap bass I think). You'll see them a lot of djent UA-cam videos. It's a noise that you can only hear after trying one and then going back to not playing with one. You'll see them used in recording more than live use.
I think you said to write ‘Brown Joy’ if we made it to the end. I think it’s a great looking guitar. I don’t normally care for gold hardware, but it works here. Great sound and you played it well. Do you have music for public consumption? That riff at the beginning sounded very Brian May to me, which is brilliant.
Thank you Daisy. I totally agree about the gold hardware. It just works here. I do have music available to listen to and it’s something I will be talking about very soon
Okay... 1. You sounded anthemic and mighty and like the Bill and Ted soundtrack, in a good way. 2. You make the guitar look tiny. Are you nine feet tall? 3. Where in the world are you from that you pronounce "burl" like that? Are you secretly from Bristol? 4. You're not going to make me say Brown Joy. Nope.
I'm sure they're fantastic guitars, but I'll never not hate the fact that the horns are asymmetrical... WHY CAN'T THEY BOTH BE POINTY OR BOTH ROUNDED?!?! CHOOSE ONE IBANEZ!!!
Sais he does not like it pointy, has a Expllrer and a sreamingyelow RG hanging literarly above his head. 😂 That RG is woryingly beautifull Ps. It's my walet that is scared.
I don’t count the Explorer as a pointy Guitar. My yellow RG was bought for fun but actually consider it a serious guitar which was a surprise. PS keep that wallet deep in your pocket
TheGuitarGeek well, believe or not I just bought the exact model it was between this the blue flora or the xl length prestige 7 in blue . You really helped me make my choice with the high def of your video. I still feel like buying the 7 also but I might be missing a lot of meals if I do lol

I’m not normally an Ibanez fan but that’s a beauty. I loved the Brown Joy Brian May Sound. Great Review as usual 😊
Cheers Tom. I hope it opens some eyes to what Ibanez has on offer these days
Shouldn’t the question be “may I shred.” Manners matter.
Oh yes, quite so. Manners maketh man.
I.e. "May I continue to shred a little more?"
You may.
My apologies!
beautiful looking guitar! I've never played an Ibanez
Go find one dude!!!

I love the wizard necks. I have a lot of time for Ibanez
Brown joy. Be interesting to compare side by side with the Harley Benton Fusion
I’d love to

How many Euros for this Gold Wonder ?
About 1500
The guitar suits you well Andy Malmsteen!
Brown Joy. Quite a piece of kit. Thanks, Andy.
You’re welcome 😎
That bit of Brown Joy sounds mighty special ... what amps have you ran her through so far and did your careful eye find any flaws?
The grand Meister 40, fender deluxe reverb. Katana artist. Katana air, helix. No flaws at all! Quite the piece of art
Nice ... I've been wondering about getting some Ibanez in my life.

These things are so comfortable. I hear what you’re saying about that nut but I have never found it to be in issue
I must just be a ham fisted player then - maybe be it's because I'm a bassist (hey! who just turned the lights out - I'm still in here)
So.... you like it?
That was some nice djent in the intro song! See you soon, dear!
The guitar played itself. I didn’t consent to my fingers being used like that.

Fret wrap

Andy! Did I detect a musical "hat-tip" -from one legend to another - to Brian May in your solo? Sounded good amigo!! Round Joy!!
I’m honoured that someone picked up on it. You’re absolutely right
I caught that too!
Thanks matt! Again, honoured

I see more Ibanez on your wall soon and more sick surf whammy work(with no fear of going out of tune) :D
Would love to get more on that wall!
Gorgeous looking and sounding guitar. I prefer really chunky necks but a well set up guitar always plays well.
This neck is so comfortable!
@@TheGuitarGeekOK so now Ibanez is back on my list - I'll have to definitely try them out in person. You're such an enabler!
what is that yellow joy behind you?
Yellow wonder
Brown Joy! Yes, it is pointy!
Hells pointy!

p.s. I really liked your review, you could have done ANY guitar, and you choose this one! The "brown Joy" is very cool, thanks for doing the review!
Glad it worked for you!

And why in heck should I not watch such a short video to the end?
