Yeah, I liked a lot of things about the courtois I was trying, but I found it to be difficult to consistently center the pitch. A nice sound and quick response don't mean all that much if it isn't in tune🤣.

Very much helps. But I also need to improve slide technique, because I don’t hit it right on the money since there’s still a tiny delay between what I want to play and getting the slide articulation down
Yo nice trombone. I'm starting to play trombone as well as the euphonium, but I'm in the marching band, so I have to play loud, very loud.
So any tips to blast my horn without killing my throat? I just find it difficult for me to just blow into it without me tightening my lips for high Fs and Gs.
Try playing long tone exercises (start in the middle range) and add a crescendo to each note. Don't worry so much about playing super loud on these exercises as long as you feel like you are starting at a quieter dynamic and getting louder. Your focus should be on feeling relaxed through the entire crescendo. Only play as loud as you can do so while feeling relaxed.
You could try this same exercises on scales in the upper register to work the range part of your questions. Try it on the upper octave of Eb, F, G, etc. Each pitch would be a 4 or 8 beats long, again with a crescendo. The focus is still on relaxation of the air. It is okay if you feel a little support from your core muscles, but as soon as you start to feel like your throat is tightening up or your lips are so tight that you are forcing the air through them, stop for a second and take a deep relaxed breath. Also make sure that your tongue doesn’t tense in a way that causes your throat to tense up in response. They are highly related.
Any tips to think of a super fast Elliot mason type phrase while improvising
His approach always strikes me as being informed by sax players not really trombone players or trumpet players. I especially hear a lot of Coltrane in his playing. Try transcribing tenor players. You may not be able to play some of the material up to tempo, but that is okay. Focus on the concepts that are present and see if you can carry them over to trombone in a more "playable" fashion.
From a technical standpoint, he sounds like he is using a legato double tongue more than a doodle tongue to my ear. Try using "do" and goo" tongue syllables to find the multiple tongue style that is connected but still maintains the clarity he gets. Aside from that it is all just lots of slow practice on scale patterns and Arban-like exercises to work the technique up to tempo.
It is sort of the classic thing of even though the base line technique is "simple", that doesn't mean it is "easy" to apply in the way Elliot does. Best of luck.
