With half the bus width and just over half of the power consumption.. the 3040 is technically impressive. I am suprises how well the 1060 keeps up to be honest. Only 20% apart. Good video. The RTX 3050 6GB is a great card if you have an OEM pc like a Dell or HP and are using integrated graphics. A simple installation with no cables. A lot of people are just casual 1080p gamers.
1080p is for MOST people.. 1440p is for people who can afford a new Apple watch every 2 years. If you don't have a new Apple watch this year or if you don't have a Mac Book for no reason, then you are most likely gaming on 1080p.. UA-camrs will have thousands of videos for budget PCs, Optiplex builds, $150 PCs but then tell everyone that 1440p is the most popular resolution. how is that possible when most of their videos cater to broke people. how is that possible when its the 3060 and 1650 and 1660 super that are the most popular GPUs... most people game 1080p. most people don't even have 1440P monitors.. if they do, they aren't watching videos like these..
@@jordanmntungwa3311 I honestly wouldn’t game in anything over 1080p, no matter how much money I have. The human eye is proven to not really be able to tell the difference with anything past it. I can game in 4k on my Xbox and actually switched it to 1080p because I truly could not tell the difference at all. We also can’t really see beyond 60fps either and anyone who says otherwise is lying to themselves to justify their insane $7k PC, just to play video games. The best bang for your buck is to use yesterday’s server parts that sell for NOTHING on eBay. 14 core xeons are like 30 to 40 bucks and the X99 mobos to run them are like 90 and still use a respectable DDR4 ram cards. No integrated graphics though, but who really cares when you’re using a GPU anyway? I built a decent gaming rig for under $400 with an old RX590. I’m upgrading to a newer build tho that has 2 xeons, a titan xp and an rx6700xt.
@@robotron1236you are wrong. 1440p and 4k DO have a difference and we are able to see it. Like wtf are you on? Check your eyes as you might have some sight problems. More pixels equals better image quality, less aliasing, smoother textures… Regarding the FPS, me and everyone can see the difference between 60 and at least 120+. If you compare 120 with something higher, then I would agree the difference cannot be really seen. Also, who calls RAM “ram card” lmao, but for real, don’t go saying fake information just because you don’t care about having an expensive PC. If there wasn’t a difference, it wouldn’t exist.
@@jordanmntungwa3311Objectively speaking, yes, 1080p is the most widespread, but 1440p is also very popular. That said, the jump from 1080p to 1440p in terms of performance requirements isn't even that big, especially with modern upscaling, a 3060 can easily handle it no problem. Even the monitors themselves aren't that expensive, you can find many good 1440p models for less than $200.
@@robotron1236I agree that there's functionally no difference between 1080p and 4k... on a laptop screen. Anything bigger than that, though, and the difference can become pretty easy to notice. Also, Xbox cannot actually put out native 4k in most games and lowering the render resolution in the Xbox settings doesn't affect display resolution. So, depending on the games you played, you went from sub-1080p resolutions upscaled to 1440-1800p and then outputted at 4K to sub-1080p resolutions upscaled to 1080p and then outputted at 4K, which, yeah, not a huge difference in quality there, for obvious reasons.
Well if it's X4 then it's pretty bad for gen3 possibly, though I would test if I would have 3050/6400/6500 XT , but I just have rx560 , gt 440 and PX 8600 GT and ATI 9250@@RandomGaminginHD
Depending on where you live, it ends up being a complete non factor though. You factor in the price you pay for a 1060 vs a 3060 6gb (it's too new to have a consistent supply of 2nd hand either) and it'll take 3-4 years of 24/7 full load usage to make up the price difference in terms of operating costs. The 3050's biggest problem is the rx6600 sits in its price bracket and is no slouch in efficiency relative to the performance, in addition to absolutely smoking the 3050 6gb in every game. There's no compelling reason to opt for a 3050 unless you have a potato psu or need an LP card
Now you should do one enabling upscaling features, the 3050 with DLSS or FSR and the 1060 with FSR or another tool like the Lossless Scaling app, great video as always!
I think disabling DLSS and so on is missing the point of the 3050. Its there to leverage those to do a lot with very little, so those capabilities are very much a part of it.
DLSS is a crutch and i think this video wants to compare the raw performance between old and new. Either way, DLSS will surely improve fps on the newer card so what you see here is the worst case of 3050
@@Ignisan_66 I love how some gamers freak out over 30fps like it's the worst thing ever. 30fps isn't even that bad, especially if you're a console gamer. I know 60fps is suppose to be the recommended but then you got gamers who say even 60fps is too choppy. So I'm just gonna say 240stfups is the recommended.
I'm still rocking the ol' GTX 1060. I've felt compelled to upgrade throughout the years of course, but this card can still play well the games I love, so, I always ended up spending the money of a new card in my family. Best tech related purchase I've ever made ❤.
I've bought exactly the same 3050 6GB a while ago, to quickly replace my dying GTX 1050 TI, for around 170 GBP (brand new) tbh, it's actually quite better than I've expected, after hearing all of the hate from reviewers
I did that 2 years ago in 2022 i also had a 1050ti and Replaced it with the RTX 3050 8GB. I was and am still quite astonished what the RTX 3050 8GB can achieve its basically a GTX 1070 with RT. The RTX 3050 6GB also impressed me when he compared the 2 on the Channel
In the end it is all about expectations. Yes the rtx 3050 6Gbyte is a cut down model. Which is sad. But yes, if the games you play are old enough! And you just want nice graphics at 1080p at workable FPS. This might do.
I think people hate the fact that it’s called the RTX 3050 which shares the same name as the 8gb card. New consumers might get tricked into thinking they bought the 8gb card. If they called it the RTX 3040 or RTX 2650 no one would have batted an eye.
Interesting... TechPowerUp's relative performance places these two a couple of percentage points apart. I know those results are to be taken with a grain of salt... but they are WAY off. Perhaps there's not a lot of data to pull from comparing these two. While I'm impressed the 1060 6GB is still holding on, but I think this is even more impressive for the 3050 6GB. I wonder how this compares in the same tests with the 1070.
@@TheGameBench TPU doesn't update any information in their chart about older GPUs it doesn't currently test so all the old data even about the 2060 are out of date as they're not included in current GPU reviews.
I have both (actually I have 2 RTX 3050 6GB). My 1660 is the "Phoenix GTX 1660 O6G". This 1660 super runs very hot and consequently its single fan is very noisy. It's a pain. I much prefer the RTX 3050 6G. They are slightly less powerful, but they run much cooler and I can't hear them. I can't notice any difference in performance anyway.
Really interesting. I remember suggesting the 1060 instead of the 3050 6 GB to save money on the build, but I'm a little surprised how far apart they are - the online benchmark sites are indeed flawed. Thanks for doing this.
The 10 series was simply incredible however I’m more impressed that this model of 3050 doesn’t require extra power and yet it’s getting very playable frames on modern titles. Thats pretty amazing.
Nice comparison, just over a year ago I upgraded from a 1060 6gb to an rx6650xt. It came with a starfield key, and I remember how disappointed I felt when I couldn't even run high settings with a constant 60fps. That disappointment hasn't lasted(with the 6650), as now I realize it was starfield itself. Still love the 1060 though, great card to use in a second pc for older backlog games
Now this is a comparison that I had wanted to see because according to Techpowerup they're supposedly about the same in performance (1060 6gb 98% of 3050 6gb), which I thought seemed odd and apparently it was in fact completely wrong. Thanks for making this.
In my country an RTX 3050 6GB can be had for 170 USD while a used GTX 1060 which is 8 years old and consumes more power cost 110 dollars used. Lol Even a brand new 1650 costs more than the RTX 3050 6gb. People hating on this card clearly don't know what they are talking about.
I agree with you. I got a good price on my 3050 Low profile card to go into my SFF build and it's fine. I play a lot of simulators and strategy games which require CPU horsepower and i can game comfortably with this. Not everyone is chasing 4K AAA games at high refresh rates with huge full sized PC cases.
@@Yagami_Leon not every scenario is limited to 75w The rtx 3050 6 gb is good when put in a sff system but outside that I think the GTX 1060 or any other cards has more appeal. I think the 1060 (and RX 480/580) are still perfectly fine to use, so I can't blame the 3050 from a performance point of view. A MSRP of 249$ for the entry level gaming card is just silly. It might not impact us who dig trough used hardware right now, but it's a terrible trend for young people trying to get into PC Gaming, maybe relying on their parents to buy/build them a PC. Back when I started getting into PC Gaming, it was a similar situation, as everything was rapidly outdated and build quality in many cases was abyssmal (especially PSUs, but also the capacitor plague... yes, I'm old).
Honestly it depends on what fine to use is , i used to have a 1060 and quite frankly i'm glad i upgraded 2 years ago because a lot of the more demanding games will run at 1080p low settings fsr quality 30 fps , which isn't a great experience tbh . But for older games and less demanding titles it can still be a great choice
@@lynackhilou4865 yeah it's not for visuals. You can play 1080p 100 in most online multiplayer games at the low competitive settings. Minecraft, fortnite, cs2 etc. 100 fps is plenty for the casual gamer to enjoy these games and 1060 will do it. 2024 AAA gaming is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. 1440p ultra settings is a $1200 tower at a minimum.
I think you should test older titles as well. I may be wrong but my theory is that we should test games that were released before the launch of the GTX 1060 like Far Cry 3 and GTA IV. In such cases I would imagine that those two cards will have identical performance.
Hi. I notice that you dont show the system bench where you do the test in yours last videos. Can you tell us in what cpu and mobo you do de test? Thanks and great work as always.
Didn't make it a good 6GB video and the 1060 is not the entry level GPU for its generation. And Turing nowhere to be found. The entry level premise should have been tested with a 950, 1050, 1650 and 3050 6GB. Or, for a 6GB shootout, the 980Ti, 1060 6GB, 1660 Super, 2060 6GB and 3050 6GB.
@@Lurch-Bot well, comparing entry level cards of each gen would just show that each gen added some level of performance to the previous. But testing a highend card from one gen, with the midrange from the next, and the entry after that makes for an interesting comparison across generations.

Through the 2008 to 2009 financial crash things were almost doubling year on year. There isn't a correlation between financial crisis and poor GPU improvements. If you just look at the performance increase from 1 generation to the next, the improvement is always falling. The exception is something like a RTX 4090 which is brute forcing the situation with bigger die, more power, higher cost. The performance for your money is not increasing much. If you look at process node costs as they shrink, the price is ever increasing. In earlier nodes the frequency increase was significant and you wouldn't hit a 'wall' as hard if pushing the cards. Power would go up, but nothing like they do now. If you think the development is poor because of the financial situation currently, your in for a rude awakening on the other side. Especially when cards like the RTX 3090 and RTX 4090 exist through it.
I've still got this card and use it daily! This is a very good vid for me. I had to go back to it from my 3070 because the 3070 didn't fit into my new NUC extreme (too wide by a matter of a couple of mm. DOH!). I'm looking for a newer gpu to fit inside my nuc, the problem is the dimensions for most gpu's I've tried have always been off (sometimes significantly) so I've had to return 3 different ones. It's a real pain :(
I have 2 RTX 3050 6G: an MSI RTX 3060 6G LP and a PNY RTX 3050 6G. They are good. The LP one is now in a 10 years old PC that has an Intel i5-4440. I did not know what to do with this PC, so I tested it with an RTX 3050 6G. That and a RAM upgrade (from 4GB to 16) turned it into a decent Linux gaming machine for the kids. These RTX 3050 6G get ~50 FPS on Furmark 1920x1080 Vulkan, which is not bad. They consume less than 70W and require no power cable, making them easy to integrate into an old machine.
The 3050 6 GB is just a bit pricey. I keep a 1070 as back-up, not that I don't have a card at hand anyway as a PC repair guy. The 3050 8 GB at $200 just doesn't jive either. I'm getting used 6700 XT and 3070 for $200-225, so it's a tough sell.
Honestly I will always remember the 1000 series and 3000 series as a special memory of a want to get cards… I do indeed own a 3080ti, and a 1080ti in boxes for just memories up on a shelf. I do in fact don’t mind the 4000 series enjoying my 4090 which I’m coming up on 2 years now
@RandomGaminginHD I'm currently using a GeForce 2 MX series. I've been contemplating upgrading for a short while now. Been thinking about it ever since the slightly newer RTX cards were released.
Funny. GeForce 2 MX: released in 2000. The first RTX cards(2000 series) released in 2018. A refresh(the Super versions of several cards) launched in 2019). The slightly newer RTX cards (well, slighly newer than the first gen 2000 series but not as new as the 4000 series) launched in 2020. So you've been waiting 20 years(or almost 20 years) to upgrade. In the computer technology space, that's an eternity. Fyi, I used to have a GeForce 2 MX( came in a Compaq PC with an Athlon XP CPU and 512 MB of ram). I have known your pain.
Still have a 6GB GTX 1060 that I bought new back in 2016 that works for troubleshooting motherboards. Didn't realize how poorly it performs until today. If I can snag a 3050 for cheap would be a better card for that job because it doesn't need PCIE power cable.
Piles of small, single slot R7 250s going for like $7 and you're using a dual slot GPU that weighs probably 4x as much and needs external power for troubleshooting, lol.
Yeah for me coming from Intel HD 530 to RTX3050 Low Profile, It is a huge upgrade for me though the high price of it ! I love every single bit of it ! I do have an HP SSF with only i5 6500 and I am playing RE4 remake and a lot of newer titles that I would not have been able to play if I got the gt 1030 since I have only 200Watts PSU
i don't get all the hate of 3050, it is definitely the fastest gpu that require no power pin. and it has all the advantages of new technology like DLSS compared to the older one. the point of that newer card isn't raw horsepower, but more efficient and smarter way to render. and once you use dlss, the gap between the older card vs the 3050 going to be much bigger. you can also use FSR on the older cards but the quality won't get on par with DLSS, especially when upscaling from 720p to 1080p, which again is the advantages of the newer card
I just upgraded my Asrock RX 6600 to Galax RTX 4060 last week. I know the upgrade is stupid for some people. But it was super beneficial for me, the power consumption is simillar for the casual 1080p gaming. And also the better performance on productivity apps like Premiere pro really did make a great difference than my last gpu. Also i was having driver and micro stuttering issues with RX 6600 especially with latest.
I have the RTX 3050 6GB since April and I'm very satisfied with it (the lack of the 8-pin connector is worth everything to me). It's the ideal upgrade for those like me who have had the GTX 1050Ti 4GB for years. For those who have had the GTX 1060 6GB for years, the ideal upgrade is the RTX 3060 12GB.
Yep, it absolutely is. The RTX A1000 is a 3050 6GB with 8GB of VRAM. You can find single slot cards on the gray market. I'll be surprised if Yeston doesn't eventually come out with a single slot model like they have with the 1050 Ti and 1650. The price will suck though.
@TheGameBench the most powerful single slot card i have seen is the gtx 1070 Katana, ran really hot due to its 150w TDP, but should be able to cool a 70w card easily.
@@rj7250a I was more thinking of low profile cards. Not nearly as much a point to single slot full height cards, which is probably why we haven't seen even a 4060 Ti single slot card, and those only consume about 160 watts, or even a 4060 that consumes 110 to 120 watts.
I have a quadro p4000 which is a single slot 106 watt graphics card and I run it in a up to 95 degree Fahrenheit room, it runs at about 85 Celsius in those conditions so yeah, shouldn't be an issue at all. To be fair I have a massive case with plenty of cooling. A small case that a normal person would use it in wouldn't do quite as well.
@@TheGameBench Low profile 3050 6GB cards already exist. Making a full size single slot card would be trivial, but also largely pointless. Low profile AND single slot is probably never going to happen, at least not at pricing that would make any sense. The real villain here is all those terribly designed Dell SFF systems that, while they do have two expansion slots, they place the full size x16 slot at the bottom, ruling out compatibility for two-slot cards.
I really like the 50 series. It is a good temporary card you can pop in until you get a actual power supply in your pre-built pc of course. I dont do lego diy pc's im not rich. You can get a prebuilt for less than the processor price alone.
My GTX 1060 6GB is dying, I'm planning on getting a 3050 6GB do you think it's a good idea? Here in South East Asia buying used is a hit or miss so let's get that out of the way. The 3050 6GB here costs $240, RX 6500XT at $185 and a RX 6600 is $280.
you're honestly better off with the rx 6600..... more vram, faster clock speed, faster memory speed, wider memory bandwith, much faster boost clock, more shading units and compute units etc..
Going from my 1060 laptop to my first desktop with a 4080 Super. My laptop has served me well for 8 years, but nowadays it’s certainly showing its age, and can’t play most games without taking off like an apache helicopter.
Interesting, with my old build (i7 3770, 32gb ddr3 1600 and Sapphire RX 590) on CP2077 in medium settings i reach 57fps average @1080p. Not bad at all!
I bought the 1060 6gb during the chip shortage paid £250 still going strong. It plays well, for what I play in games ATS and ETS2 forza 5 tomb raider definitely edition F122
The RTX 4060 and RX 7600 are 150% faster than the 1060 and current entry level. This 3050 6GB (really a 3040) is a slot-powered card to game on office PCs, same as the 1650 and 1050 Ti.
It seems that every video I see is you benchmarking a video card or showing a mini PC you got for free. Let's see some content like you used to make with the PC builds or budget builds.
It’s honestly going to be an amazing gpu once it reaches the 150$ mark and it’s makes sense for people to buy this card for a office upgrade and it’s cheaper then alternatives when you account for the need to buy a new psu
I would like to see if AMDs FSR and frame gen will save the 980ti and 1060,1070,1080 card's and make them extremely useful again.. especially when you can get vram modded cards like the 9 and 10 series card's and even the rx580 ect it means that old card can have features similar to the RTX 30/40 series card's
Well, making the 1060 run Alan Wake 2 was setting it up for failure since it doesnt support the mesh shaders the game uses. Sure, it can emulate around that, but thats what costs it so much performance.
in israel sadly the card goes for about 300 bucks and 350 for some models, same goes the rx6400 and a lot of small gpus are really expensive here, like with the 3050 if you added another 30 to 50 bucks you could've gotten a 3060 12gig or even a 4060 (since both go for the same price here lol)
The thing about used cards is that the people that sell them will never tell you if they mined crypto with it, and mined GPUs slow down after a strain of prolonged demanding tasks. I almost bought a used 1060 3gb back in 2019, only to find out that it was used for mining crypto and the quality of the card dropped, so no. I'd rather buy a new RTX 3050 6gb
problem with buying used is... you may get a gpu actually built in china from parts left over after the core is cannibalised and soldered onto an AI board. they dump heatsinks and backplates and circuit boards minus ram and core into bins and sell the contents to others who just rebuild cards that when you get them, dont actually have any of the important chips or core inside. i avoid second hand gpu and cpu (which some places in china take low end cpu, slightly grind the heatsink down to remove the laser printing, then mark with a laser as a 14900ks and sell it at a cheap but still high cost).
I would argue the 1060 is what the 660 ti was before it. A upper midrange card that could play all games at it's release pretty much maxed and can keep up with newer games decently well. There isn't really a card in the 700 series that sits in the same place. The 760 was pretty much a rebranded 660 and the OEM 760 Ti is a rebranded 670. The 750 Ti is somewhere around the 650 Ti Boost in terms of performance.
This benchmark honestly depresses me in how low Nvidia will sink to still demmand a new card price on what is essentially a superclocked 1060 w/ half the power consumption and mislead people. As you said 8 years! and we are still being dripfed on the entry level side of things, how long have we been stuck in that shadow of 1080p low. It really doesn't make sense for these cards to exists unless they are absurdly cheap. If i got a 1060 for about £50, by its pricing, the 3050 6GB would only make sense if it was a £100 card, the price it asks is what AMD is asking for the tier above it. you can get 1080Tis with a hint of luck for just over £100 now and that has almost double the VRAM and will still wipe its reign across any entry level card we have today, if theres one card that can give an "F you" to Nvidias scummy tactics its its own blood, the 1080Ti.
Gracias for the content. i am building a sff with 3050, i have a rx 550 with rx 5700, and want to upgrade, i have to modify the case to add the double wide, a great help watching your video lets me know the gpu will be good, peace

Did you have the 3GB 1060? Because that's the only way this statement makes sense. And the only way you'd get double the fps is if you were playing games that don't really run properly on 3GB VRAM.

3050 8GB launched in 2022 was at $249. 50 power card now costs almost $100 more in just 8 years ago is crazy. 3050 6GB variant shouldn't even be a 3050, especially not when a 1060 6GB still holds up

@MrSaxonsaxon I'm thinking you meant $35? A GTX 970 isn't $350 obviously.

I have a quadro p4000 which is a single slot 106 watt graphics card and I run it in a up to 95 degree Fahrenheit room, it runs at about 85 Celsius in those conditions so yeah, shouldn't be an issue at all.

went from 1060 to 6600 to 6700xt loved that 1060 used it for 4 yrs before upgrading ( I'm now waiting for new GPU drop so I can buy )
That's my first gpu I bought and it wasn't a disappointment still have it today in my brother's rog
GTX 1050tTi'S EYES ARE CRYING WHEN SEEING THIS

Going from my 1060 laptop to my first desktop with a 4080 Super.
My laptop has served me well for 8 years, but nowadays it’s certainly showing its age, and can’t play most games without taking off like an apache helicopter.
Interesting, with my old build (i7 3770, 32gb ddr3 1600 and Sapphire RX 590) on CP2077 in medium settings i reach 57fps average @1080p. Not bad at all!
You should do a video comparing RX 6500 vs. RX 580
Given that the 6500 barely beats the 5500 (and loses big style in PCIe 3.0 mode) it's obvious the RX580 will win.
That 3050 is amazing. I love the power consumption... Not everyone wants a powerful gpu
Would love to see you do a guide on how to get a 2nd hand bargain.
I bought the 1060 6gb during the chip shortage paid £250 still going strong. It plays well, for what I play in games ATS and ETS2 forza 5 tomb raider definitely edition F122
Modern entry level cards should run games at least 150 percent faster than the 1060 and RX 480. That 3050 is a terrible card.
But it does not require extra power. The performance it has with no 6pin is actually very impressive.
The RTX 4060 and RX 7600 are 150% faster than the 1060 and current entry level. This 3050 6GB (really a 3040) is a slot-powered card to game on office PCs, same as the 1650 and 1050 Ti.
Nah, not a terrible card
@@williamkey9821 The price you're paying for and the performance you're getting is an absolute scam
I think for 70w it's actually quite impressive.
Better performance with better efficiecy, i love it.
I would like to see if AMDs FSR and frame gen will save the 980ti and 1060,1070,1080 card's and make them extremely useful again.. especially when you can get vram modded cards like the 9 and 10 series card's and even the rx580 ect it means that old card can have features similar to the RTX 30/40 series card's
how does a brit not have space marine 2?
Woulda liked to see their performance with FSR enabled and FG where applicable.
I assume you're using these both on a pcie 3.0 system?
Yep. Actually the RTX 3050 6gb performs similar in both 4.0 and 3.0. He made a video about it too.
I still rock a GTX 1060 6GB in an old Lenovo Legion laptop. Serves me right on holidays, etc.
Although the steam deck is even better when on the road.
Can you make a video about the rx 6600 in 2024? I would like to know how if is still worth it.
Well, making the 1060 run Alan Wake 2 was setting it up for failure since it doesnt support the mesh shaders the game uses. Sure, it can emulate around that, but thats what costs it so much performance.
I've got the 3050 6GB Kalmx version, it's still a newer architecture than the 1060, depends on the game engine I guess.
in israel sadly the card goes for about 300 bucks and 350 for some models, same goes the rx6400 and a lot of small gpus are really expensive here, like with the 3050 if you added another 30 to 50 bucks you could've gotten a 3060 12gig or even a 4060 (since both go for the same price here lol)
Now that is a worthy fight.
I was about to buy a 3050 6GB on Amazon until I saw the RX 6500XT for the £12 less.
Kinda glad I went AMD now.
I expected the difference between the 1060 and 3040 to be a bit closer, but the 3040 pulls ahead.
I'd be interested to see it go up against the most popular low power card, the 1650. Seems like a better comparison
what program do you use for system info in corner?
Msi afterburner and rivatuner
I honestly expected less of a difference. Now I want an LP 3050 even more
problem with buying used is... you may get a gpu actually built in china from parts left over after the core is cannibalised and soldered onto an AI board. they dump heatsinks and backplates and circuit boards minus ram and core into bins and sell the contents to others who just rebuild cards that when you get them, dont actually have any of the important chips or core inside. i avoid second hand gpu and cpu (which some places in china take low end cpu, slightly grind the heatsink down to remove the laser printing, then mark with a laser as a 14900ks and sell it at a cheap but still high cost).
Can you try bench marking on space engine? Its a known vram hog and even 8gb cards can struggle to run it 1080p ultra
Amazing cards!
1060 is the new 750 ti
I would argue the 1060 is what the 660 ti was before it. A upper midrange card that could play all games at it's release pretty much maxed and can keep up with newer games decently well.
There isn't really a card in the 700 series that sits in the same place. The 760 was pretty much a rebranded 660 and the OEM 760 Ti is a rebranded 670. The 750 Ti is somewhere around the 650 Ti Boost in terms of performance.
its a nice card working in my old system
For the age diffirence the 1060 6gb is a legend and the 3050 is a joke for the money.
maybe gtx 1070 vs 3050 6gb ? idea for next video?
If you tested DX11 indie games, difference would be much smaller. GTX 10xx series have bad performance on DX12 titles.
Gracias for the content. i am building a sff with 3050, i have a rx 550 with rx 5700, and want to upgrade, i have to modify the case to add the double wide, a great help watching your video lets me know the gpu will be good, peace
Nice. Have fun with the build!
You do realize the 5700 is about 40% more powerful than the 3050, right?
@@Lurch-Bot I have to wonder though, if they said the have an RX 550 with a a 5700, it's not an RX 5700 graphics card but rather a Ryzen 7 5700 CPU.
i got the 3050 6gb for a little 3u rack mounted gaming build, nothing facy just a rig that friends are able to parsec into that cant use any anti-cheat software on their own rigs due to them being on linux or mac os
recently upgraded from my 1060 to 5600xt so far I'm almost doubling my fps in every game
Did you have the 3GB 1060? Because that's the only way this statement makes sense. And the only way you'd get double the fps is if you were playing games that don't really run properly on 3GB VRAM.
What about the 1660 TI vs 3050 6GB?
Wonder how the 1060s compares
I had the 3 gig version, did me for quite a while, then got the GTX 1660Ti.
Tbh I’d be expecting the RTX 3050 6GB to be about double the performance of the gtx1060 6GB after nearly a decade of innovation from Nvidia 😇👍
first of all, they're only about s 5 years apart.
and the 3050 is technically a a 40 class card.
maybe we could have a showdown with the intel graphics cards with the new gneeration rtx and amd cards maybe? :)
just bought a Lenovo OEM GTX 1070 8GB for 60 USD (in Denmark) blower type ;-)
40% better effeciency and closer to 20-40% more performance crazy how much better 3050 is to 1060
If only it was priced accordingly 😂
@@himekomurata72 gtx 1060 was like $300 at launch and the rtx3050 6gb launched at like $180 ??? Idk what your talking bout
@@JoeWayne84 the difference is the last two digits 50 and 60. 1050 and 1050ti costed below $140 at launch, and the prices for 1060 were even lower back in 2019, around $135
And the 1060 was never $300, it launched at $249.
3050 8GB launched in 2022 was at $249. 50 power card now costs almost $100 more in just 8 years ago is crazy. 3050 6GB variant shouldn't even be a 3050, especially not when a 1060 6GB still holds up
@@ans7033 Remember when 80 cards were at under 500?
