I really admire your willingness to make short work of those timbers. Chainsaw and wedge combination can't be beat! Kelsie should be very proud of her man.
@@chrissmith3509 No, because he isn't just sitting back in his easy chair with a beer in his hand watching football - he's out providing for his family. I guess that concept is somewhat hard to grasp for some.
Thanks for sharing David! I have a suggestion about your back if you'd like, it's a simple stretch that you can do before getting out of bed in the AM or you can do my leaning against your truck during the day while you are cutting. When you are home, if you lay on your back and pull your knee gently towards your chest and simply hols... grab behind your knee and NOT the knee. This will stretch the hamstrings, which are the muscles on the back of your leg above your knee and below your butt. When these muscles are tight, they tend to pull on your back. Just pull gently, it diesn't matter how far you can pull your leg, just that you are stretching. Just hold it for a few seconds and repeat. Also, try to keep your shirt tucked into your pants, as the coled temps will make those tired muscles in the back tighten up even more. Anyway, my degree from college is in Education and as a personal trainer. so thought I'd offer some free help. Hope that this helps, especially if you can do it a few times a day. Enjoy watching your videos, and you earned some good karma in this video from cleaning ip someone's ' mess, Take care!
I love the sound of that crackling fire in the background of this video. My favorite video of yours yet. Keep up the great work. Thank you for cleaning up the mess they left and having a fire for us to watch.
Good 👍 morning David, Great fire .I know it takes more time to clear bark and limbs from the roadway but it sure is good to see ya being responsible out there 👍. We all should hold ourselves accountable, and responsible to be good Stewart's of the land . The rakers are pulled down about right . Yer saw is ripin . Be safe David Love wins.
Man the level of effort on these logging videos is impressive. Appreciate you cleaning up the lazy man's mess as well. Its important to leave any area you don't own better than you found it. I preach this to my kids all the time when hunting or accessing private/public grounds. Doesn't take much to loose access.
Thanks for the video! My little brother and I cut firewood for a living back in the 70’s. No work going on and starting out becoming men we learned a lot from working together making end’s meet, working on trucks and chainsaws. We’re still best of friends and even though we’re in our 60’s now and haven’t lived near each other for 35 years we both work daily and love to do hard work outdoors. Thanks and God bless.
David, you are a class act.... Great to see how you take the responsibilty of cleaning up others garbage... Hope your back gets better... I see that your back is out in the cold, I was like that... I used to have to wear a longer jacket to cover my back or wear a bigger sweater... I think you may have a cold in your back like I used to have... Take care and I look forward to more of your great videos...
Thanks for sharing, shows what good character you have, cleaning up and making sure to remove the crap regardless of what others do. Stay safe and God bless
Very cool vid, admire you work ethic and the way you realize we have to take care of what we have so we are still allowed access. Would be cool to see maintainence vids of the saws, old Huskies are super cool. Cheers 🤘🇨🇦
Its amazing how much more wood your new truck hauls. It makes each trip that much more profitable. Great investment. Its great how respectful you are of others by cleaning up the road. Is that two cords you haul?
Love the laws in your neck of the woods. Here in Victoria Australia, no dropping of trees at all, no dragging logs out at all. Can only cut firewood in autumn and spring and only in designated areas which are tiny
This was a great one David! I really enjoyed the sound of the fire going while you loaded up. Kudos to you for cleaning up others' messes, the world could use more like minded people. Keep up the good content!
I love the scenery in your vids!! Crazy how packed with snow you are already! We can get big snow this time of year but it is rare, we are only around 3,000 feet which is pretty high for the Appalachians. Most of our snow waits till after Christmas and our big storms always come up out of the Gulf of Mexico through Atlanta. If that happens we can get near 2 feet but if it comes in across the Appalachians out of the west we never get much maybe 3 or 4 inches at best. As a guy with a couple of ruptured discs from a logging accident I love a good inversion table brother!!
Nice Haul Bro. I like your work ethic. Me to! I do not like it when others leave a mess when they cut ... It drives me bonkers. Keep up the good work. We are in Manitoba. Poplar, Oak, Elm, Maple, Ash, Birch, Tamack, and assorted Evergreens.
I like the warming fire! Reminds me of when we could bear hunt this time of year with hounds (bureaucrats in southern CA ended those good times). Couple of old crippled guys who couldn't make it to the tree anymore always had a fire going where we were going to bring the bear out to the road.
Another great video David, the views are awesome. I was cutting yesterday and caught myself staring at the mountains and the blue sky several times while cutting. That thick fir bark sure does burn hot when you get it going. As usual you and those fiskars are just getting it done! Stay safe out there buddy!
I sure like your videos man I'm a wood cutter here in the Pacific Northwest I cut a lot of wood dislike you right on brother keep on keeping on you doing an awesome job it's nice would you cutting too beautiful right on bro I love your content keep on keeping on I like how you sharpen you chains too they chew good
Alway like your videos David, I bought a couple of those 8ten chain on Amazon as well, haven’t run them yet but they are sure less expensive that Oregon chain so I’ll see how they work in the long run.
Well david you certainly give a pound of flesh in these video's ( those logs don't split themselves ) 👊💪🤙 ,, out of curiosity what does a truck full like yours fetch ,,im guessing $400 🤔 🍺👍
Love the vid. Newly subscribed. If youre taking requests…. Can you cut the draw string off of your hoodie? I want to see more of your vids, and if that thing gets stuck in the saw you may end up in a pretty bad spot!
How did that 8ten chain hold up with the lowered rakers and did it stay reasonably sharp? I see that it is full skip so it should dull faster than full house.
To mKe it easy to mark your logs ,attach a couple of heavy duty zip ties to the handle on the side ,then measure out 16 in from the bar and cut them off and put a little colored tape on on the ends for visual
@@mountainlifewithdavidkelsie I'm just out of. Chewelah I normally get wood up out of kettle falls but got slammed with work this year I bout a log deck but what they dropped was all green. What do u normally charge for all ur hard work

Oh, to be young again! Get some tools so you don't have to bend over so much! Hand tongs , pickaroon, canthook t hey save on the lower back and you will wear out discs if you don't mitigate heavy lifting! I turn 69 this month and I'm still cutting firewood but much slower and a great deal of pain from working to hard just because I could and thought I would be young and strong forever! If I had another life to live I'd still be outdoors cutting trees!
David, what is your OPINION on using that X25 for a felling axe/wedge banger? It’s an interesting proposition to me but I haven’t seen one first hand to draw my own conclusions yet. 🤔
Love the videos and your positive attitude. Just wondering are you diluting the bar oil in the cold temperature or maybe using a thin viscosity motor oil?

Not too sure about today I was taking my time maybe 2 hours?
What size axe do you use. Is it a 36 inch handle
I know the one in this video is not 36” lol
Yes I use the 36” mostly sometimes the 28”
My friend drilled hole in his saw bar and bolted a 11 inch long stick to it

What's the verdict on that chain
Where's the Hot Dogs, I hope there in the F-250. Watch for tree hugers, they will take future.
