Really the main reason for an MBA is to CHANGE X. And X can be your industry, your career, your job function, your life, or even your location. MBA provides a unique opportunity to RESET your life and RESTART it at a different place with a different trajectory and a different set of skills. It is not an easy achievement and you get out of it as much as you put into it. If you take it easy, you get little but if you are really putting effort, time, and constantly think about self-improvement, the 2 years are very transformative!
Lame and vague reasons for doing the MBA.Wonder how they were selected in premier institutes. They have such a weak conviction about the motivation for doing the MBA.
How can you judge their conviction in just 10 seconds? Are you an expert in the management field? If not, you're probably someone who'd have lacked the wherewithal to do an MBA or the aptitude to crack an entrance exam. You're nothing but a whiner
I have recently graduated engineering and want to pursue MBA after 2-3 years.I got 2 jobs one at WIPRO technologies(Indian company) with job profile IT Programme Analyst, another at Cognizant (American company) as IT-Infrastructure engineer. Everyone is telling that programme analyst is a better designation, but Cognizant is a better company.I want to know experience at which one would be better for my college application to the American or Canadian colleges?
hello. my son graduated from ITC HOTEL MANAGEMENT school and is working as manager with a lxury hotel in india for last 4 years. now what should he do? A general mba or mba hospitality. please suggest
Pursuing an Mba doesnt promise any professional success. If you wanna do an MBA make sure that you are working in a company or institution that will allow you to move to a better work position and that is willing to pay it for you. If not an MBA would only be a waste of money and energy.
This is BS. Believe me, you'll be spening more time in editing resumes(iteration after iteration 4 or 5 rounds) and listening to ppts and guest lectures of companies (you're not interested in or you have no possibility of getting selected ) than actually learning something. I am studying in one of the so called premier iims in this country(can't mention the name, it might create a lot of problems). I don't know whether its the same with other colleges but there won't be a huge difference. People join these colleges for just two reasons i.e. money and pride. Just think about it, in these bschools, there is a strict rule(by placecom) that the resume points must cover one full page(not more, not less) in a pre-designed format. Just think how childish and immature it is. A person doesn't even have the freedom to present his resume the way he likes. Its just sad.
You don't need an MBA to start an business. But you will need mba in aiding other people's business.

Everybody is doing mba. If you are not going to do it with more than 70 % from reputed college, there is no scope.
