Pueblo Alteño -McHi Mariachi Oro

This is our rendition and adaptation of “Pueblo Alteño” (Composed: Hipólito & Nicolás Puentes, Arr. & Adapted: Alex Treviño, Bernardo Aldava, Víctor Figueroa). This was performed on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the UIL State Mariachi Festival in Seguin, TX at the Seguin HS Performing Arts Center. McAllen HS Mariachi Oro students brought home the gold 🥇🏆🏅 and received the State UIL Sweepstakes Award, Straight Division 1 Superior Ratings from all 3 judges, and, additionally, earned State UIL Outstanding Performer Medals for the Entire Ensemble! Every single member of the group was recognized as an Outstanding Instrumentalist & as an Outstanding Vocalist! We are exceedingly proud of our students for reaching this level of excellence in an extremely challenging year of Distance/Virtual Learning amid the Covid-19 Pandemic with very few and very limited after school rehearsals. Students began learning this opening number the 3rd week of May and performed it at the State UIL Festival just 3 weeks later. This attests to the hard work, determination, and talents of this very special group of young men and women! ¡Puro Mariachi Oro y Qué Viva El Pueblo Alteño, Sí Señor!
